Honestly, f*** dawnbringer crusades if it invalidates my existing cities army. I'm not excited for it at all.

Sorry to say I'm really disappointed with the Lord Solar model.
Maybe it's just cos this reveal had my highest expectations.
I proper expected just an absolute specimen of a pose. Horse rearing on its back legs, hair and cape flowing majestically like it's very stature was conjuring a storm, more ornate designed armour.
It all looks a little flat. Don't want to knock the sculpt, just not for me. This is THE Lord SOLAR, honestly expected him to be a centrepiece model. Take away the base and it just looks a tad plain, imo.
I'm the opposite. I don't even play 40k and this is making me want an imperial guard army, just so I can play with this model.
Its utterly beautiful. It reminds me of the old world Tyrion, Green Knight or Archaon. Every race had an awesome centrepiece on a horse.

I have an Ogor rumour. Honest Wargamer said stonehorns have a new monstrous action - roll 3d6 and move over a unit like it has flying. Can move over multiple units. Each unit moved over takes d3 mortal wounds. Have to end the move in combat.
No idea if he was trolling. But seemed serious. Quite fun, if true!

Anyone else getting old Keeper of Secrets vibes from the new thundertusk monstrous rampage? I mean it is less flexible but man, big, fast guys handing out ASL is NASTY!
Wonder if the beastclaw stuff will be debuff heavy, to represent the environmental effects of the everwinter. Strike last, minuses to hit and wound, reduced movement/charge/runs etc.

My point really was that they seem to have taken destruction in a new direction with kruelboyz. They're more serious, darker and less comic. I guess whether they'll build on that will depend on how popular the new faction has proved.

One of the old doom diver models had a mallet goblin:
I wonder if they've started slotting old world models into rumour engines.

Give me a Faction of just Were People. Werewolves, Werebears, Weremoose anything!!
100% agreed. I hate that until now destruction has been the comic relief faction. That said, with kragnos and kruleboyz they seem to be experimenting to a certain extent with a darker more savage look.

In other news did people see that gw are hiring for a matched play developer for 40k?
https://jobs.games-workshop.com/search-and-apply/warhammer-40000-games-developer
I wonder if they will do the same for AoS.
Their salaries are so low they will struggle to retain anyone other than post grads with no familial responsibilities. When I interviewed for an AOS writer a few years back, they were offering something like £20k pa ($22.6k)

Next week also confirmed another massive Imperial Guard reveal. Could it be Catachans? Theyre my favourite of all the 40K Imperium armies and are just a Faction of Soldiers from Predator.
Cannot wait to see a range refresh of them!!*
*Did I just become hyped for a 40K reveal?

Because GW decided to go with the strategy of pretending we didn't already see all the new minis and treating them as new model monday "surprises". Kinda gives me a mini bump if disappointment anytime it happens.
Exactly this. I'm sure they have so many projects ongoing. What's the harm in giving us instead some clues about what's coming early next year?
(The obvious and depressing answer is that there are no new AoS models scheduled for early next year, or the foreseeable future).

We've got 8 pre-order weeks left this year. I'm counting:
Shouldn't world eaters be in there too? That's another fairly sizable release

So, it's Sunday - what are you predictions for the preview article?
Mawtribes tome? Revealed but unreleased Squats?
It's gotta be mawtribes, we're running out of weekends!

Could GW be going backwards compatible, and allowing you to re-base your AOS armies (hope you saved all your old squares)
Cities units still come with squares

It’s being done by Forge World, but that doesn’t mean as much as it once did - the specialist games team are part of forge world and they do quite a bit of plastic. There will almost certainly be some resin though
I wonder if that means that the old world FW kits will come back. I think I still have a Marienburg Landship somewhere in storage.

I'm guessing Beasts of Chaos will be among the first next year, with other perhaps being Blades of Khorne or Seraphon.

Building some chaos knights this weekend. The run and charge subfaction with khorne marks should be super smashy and fun. I love that's it not all about aura bubbles anymore and the individual warscrolls have raw power.

Also interestingly knights only have option for lance. Which basically invalidates the old non-pushfit models if you built them that way.

Historically once you get your tome your about done in terms of mainline releases (realmlords was sort of a special case)
most normal army just get one update per edition
Ever since late second edition, what happens normally is that GW releases a model wave for an army, and then follows that up not too much later with a second wave and a book.
For instance Lumineth wave 1 and wave 2, then Slaanesh, Sylvaneth etc. Which is why I think we're due a second wave for soulblight and bonereapers.
As much as I'd love a FEC release, I think they will likely stay in the fyreslayer doldrums for a while longer.
