  1. Eh, I've never met a casual AoS player, because the game itself is a casual game. Some of the top players in the community, are also some of the genuinely sweetest human beings I've ever met. Actually, I find those who lambast the competitive scene as pretty toxic. Fortunately, the only time I've run into them has been in 40k. I've never, ever had a bad game of AoS, or seen anyone complain about competitiveness.
  2. Well, most of the people I know who are in to AoS also play the game. Most of us are dads, so we only play at events, probably once every month or two. Because we don't get to play so often, when we do our lists we play are highly tuned. Because we don't get to paint as much, we only want to buy and paint units that have value in game. I would say the majority of people who play this game fit a similar demographic and therefore have a similar attitude to purchasing decisions. Of course, I've never encountered anyone who buys the models and then does nothing with them. Doesn't paint them, doesn't play with them. I would be surprised if that was the majority of their customer base.
  3. I wish they built these battleforces around meta lists. How about morathi and the bow snakes, or sharknado, or oakenbrow, or kroakbomb? The people who build these boxes prob don't even play the game. Either that, or they add random useless units like doomfire warlocks to the box as a cynical 'tax' on the rest of its content. The closest they came was the squigalanche box last year, and that was prob the fastest selling battleforce ever.
  4. If the schedule had slipped, I would have assumed they'd have published an updated roadmap in the last stream. Personally I expect them to stick to the existing roadmap and release DB3 in the next few weeks. DB4 will then follow at the beginning of Dec with a StD-style army box for Fec. That will then allow them to release the full Fec army in early 2024, once again in the same vein as StD. I don't think that's unrealistically ambitious.
  5. Once again its winter 2023. If it meant Jan, Feb, it would say roadmap 2023-2024 on the top, as they have done in previous years:
  6. Once again, dawnbringers 4 is out before the end of the year, as per their roadmap. On that schedule, dawnbringers 3 will be a lot earlier. Poss preorder announcement Sunday.
  7. Well I guess lady of ruin and scyla not until next year. If every book has a theme, and this one is order, then book 4 will be fec and death. Chaos book likely not until first quarter
  8. Would love for gotrek to get the fyreslayers keyword. Honestly, I feel like fyreslayers as a whole needs a major rules patch with the dawnbringer crusade.
  9. It's the 40th anniversary of WHFB and its mostly 40k stuff However the 40k anniversary is in four years, so hopefully we'll get some fantasy nostalgia then .
  10. Lol imagine after all the rumours and nudges toward kurnothi we just end up with some insects or terrain. Kurnothi are the new 'bretonnian stormcast'. Expectations of the community miles away from the reality.
  11. Khorne, StD and Sylvaneth. Perhaps also fyreslayers get some new rules, but no new models.
  12. One kurnothi unit, do we think? Or two or three, and kurnoth himself?
  13. I have a 21 varanguard list I'm (very) slowly painting up. Would love for a female varanguard boss to have her own army of renown.
  14. Same reason they include new plastic heroes with your shadow and pain, feast of bones, or wrath and rapture boxes. It puts a fresh face on old miniatures.
  15. Huginn and muninn right? Gotta be sci-fi odin, aka Nigel Stormcaller.
  16. Wonder if they'll update the gorger warscroll at all to allow them to be taken in units. Or if this will be a unique unit similar to other warcry bands.
  17. Well if Nezzhil knows something, then they've confirmed what it is. Keep your grubby paws away from my spiderfang. I've already had my phoenix temple invalidated this year.
