€50 is £43. Guessing they'll be £39.50 like lumineth cavalry. -

Can see this happening tbh, especially the release of some freeguild-type humans for cities. Especially with the trailer for 3.0 featuring humans with the old empire aesthetic. This does make me concerned about my phoenix guard cities army though, and whether they will go to legends. -

Totally agree on this point, with how swingy book design is these days, you don't know what sort of battletome you're going to get. If you invest early in an army and end up with a badly-written book, you're stuck in the 'feels bad' corner for the next two or three years.* That's part of the reason I didn't buy cursed city when it came out. * BTW should clarify that badly written doesn't necessarily mean in terms of relative power level, but rather one that has poor internal balance and encourages mono list design, or else offers few synergies. -

Agreed. Have seen people complain about 'negativity' in the hobby and how it brings them down. Nobody should quash anyone else's opinion. Everyone should be entitled to say how they genuinely feel about something, provided they don't belittle anyone else for feeling good about it. Tolerance should extend both ways, for those who are happy about something, or those who have complaints over other stuff. -

What does it mean when I get a whitefang laugh react emoji? Ridiculous/miles away? Or on the money? -

Hoping for new angelic-looking prosecutors with feathery wings, like the new celestant. Maybe the dragon-riding SCE rumoured by Honest Wargamer is a reimagining of the fulminators -

GW replaced the old space marine outside their Nottingham HQ when primaris came out. If they replace the current statue of a liberator with something else now we have the vindictors, I guess that indicates that old stormcast will be gradually phased out. -

I noticed even a lot of people who love the new stormcast aren't 100% sure on the heads. They seem out of place to me too. But I reckon with some third party spartan helmets they'd look incredible -

I want a roadmap! Want to know what books are coming and when I expect some form of animation/comic/tv show/streaming service. See above. Ever since I watched the Ultramarines film I'm convinced GW haven't got a clue about how to bring their characters to life on screen. The entire thing was like the Dawn of War intro (SPEHSS MAHREENS) -

From GW's H1 financial results in January "Our development work on a TV series, based on the Eisenhorn series of novels, continues with the appointment of industry agency representation to help us place the project. We’re a little behind our initial target dates but we remain patient as this industry returns to some normality." (Emphasis added) Guess that means they've not made a huge amount of progress on it in the (nearly two years) since it was first announced. -

Totally agree with that. But then, its a livestream lasting around 30-40mins, so they're going to have to fill it with other stuff too which I imagine will be non-AoS. -

3.0 rumours have come from grimdark live, aos list labs, and (to a lesser extent) honest wargamer. Whitefang hasn't really said anything explicit but has definitely steered expectations by the way he/she has been responding to comments here. Afaik, no one has said AoS 3.0 will be revealed in its entirety on Saturday. But that's clearly what everyone here is hoping for. Personally I think we should temper expectations a bit in case we're majorly disappointed by what will likely only amount to a very limited teaser trailer that doesn't show any models or rules changes. -

I thought the same, but then we had a new bladelord in the lumineth warband, and then a few months later a bladelord unit. Fully expect there to be archers in the next bonereapers wave. -

They normally tease new editions a lot in advance with cryptic video trailers. Last year we had the teaser video on May 10 for 40k, with the full review on May 23. My guess is that they'll do something similar with AoS. Would be unusual for them to come out guns blazing with a full starter box reveal without building it up even a little bit first. Would love to be wrong, I'm as excited for the new edition as everyone else, but I think they'll only offer a few crumbs on Saturday and instead focus on something else. -

Yeah you're right here. If they were just photos obviously lifted from the web to illustrate the cast, then I'd totally agree. But the fact they've gone to the trouble of trying to adjust the colour and inserting some sort of eisenhorn watermark in the bottom left strongly suggests an attempt at deception. Either way I still don't think we'll get a full 3.0 unveiling this weekend. If its not eisenhorn it'll be their rumoured streaming service or else something like Horus Heresy relaunch or Epic 40k/30k. -

Did I use the word "leaks"? I feel you might need to figure out what quotation marks are used for. -

If we get anything 3.0 it'll be a teaser at the end of the eisenhorn reveal. With a full reveal at the end of the month. Still plenty of time in May for the ghal maraz coin to make sense -

Yeah a guy on the Honest Wargamer show suggested the same thing. Some sort of TV show or film. Personally I think it'll be Epic 30k with maybe an AoS teaser at the end. I think they just enjoy us talking about 'mongoblins' and 'bretonnian stormcast' too much. We'll be theoryhammering here for another month at least. -

I have a theory that cities of sigmar will get broken up. Dark elves will go to umbraneth, wanderers will go to kurnothi/sylvaneth, dispossessed will go to grungni faction, and freeguild will get replaced with order of azyr. I also think that old high elf stuff like phoenix guard will go to legends. Phoenix temple are an anomaly in the fluff now since lumineth. -

Totally agree, it's a rules issue. But it becomes increasingly difficult for designers to create internal balance in a book, the bigger it gets. If GW open a new chamber and suddenly there are another 5-10 warscrolls in the book, that makes an already tough job even harder. -

I think my biggest problem with stormcast is the obscene range bloat. They may not have had a major release in three years, but in terms of volumes of kits, they're still possibly the biggest faction in the game. Part of the issue too is that much of their range is redundant. Why take liberators when you can take sequitors? Why take palladors/fulminators/concussors/ desolators/tempestors when you can take evocators on dracolines? Coupled with that you've got an absurd number of generic characters: Knight heraldor, vexilor, questor, azyros. Lord ordinator, celestant, exorcist, castellant, aquilor, arcanum, veritant. Plus all the dozens of named characters that have come out as limited releases. And yet every edition its 'lets expand on the Stormcast range' and add even more cavalry/battleline/shooting troops that serve the same in-game role as the old stuff, but do it better. That book desperately needs an overhaul, rather than more rules bloat. Make EVERY SINGLE UNIT equally viable in the book. That would excite me a lot more than just more stormcast. -

Something I'd love would be if they have both destruction and chaos keywords. It'd be a first for AoS, but I can't see how it would be gamebreaking. In terms of their goals (anarchy and overthrowing law and order) they are aligned with both chaos and destruction. There's also an origin myth that they're descended from a 'gorfather', which they might see in kragnos. Of course, highly doubtful this would happen. If GW had intended kraggy to be used with boc, they'd have included some beasts in there with the mixed destruction army shot.
