Maybe they will be the tyranids of AoS but with more of an "old gods" elements played to them. Swarms of insect cultists worshiping a primordial god of the mortal realms who seeks to destroy all the new gods that now rule his domain.

Im not sure why but I did get a distinct Lovecraftian/ Yellow King vibe from the underworld references. A insect like cult army similar to Genesteslers would be really neat in AoS.

  2. We definitely shouldn't begrudge people for the faction they enjoy. In fact we should be happy to see others get new toys. Each new release brings new folks into the hobby which makes us all benefit. There will always be annoying people in the hobby but I doubt they gravitate towards the same faction. And in any case we shouldn't be generalizing folks.

That said, back to rumors and speculation. Be'lekor was one of my first models and I'm so happy to see him get a new release. Who do you think the other major players in BR: Be'lekor will be?

  3. For all this last year's ****** I've been quite chuffed with my hobby progress.

    1. I've gotten two more friends into the hobby in 2020.

    2. I've painted more models this year than any other, finishing a Skaven army, Blood Angels army, all of my endless spells and painting several great models I've wanted to for a while.

    3. GW is putting out amazing new stuff. I'm so excited to delve back into my first love of Legions of Nagash with the new Cursed City.

    4. Everyone here makes up an amazing community. I'm usually a lurker but y'all are wonderful to hang out with.

Going through my old photos was quite fun here are just a few I finished in 2020

  4. I have quite a few older Nighthaunt but never dived in because of the price of chsinrasps. There are other battleline but I felt like I was playing at a disadvantage.

I don't have any of the old zombies. I never loved their desdwalker look. I would love to get the new ones and would commit that painting time, though IDK if I could pay $40 for 10.

  5. Welcome! We always love to see more people in the hobby.

I'm not familiar with sculpey, but epoxies work great for sculpting since they don't require heat to cool or shrink. My go to brands are Milliput and Green Stuff.

Baking will most definitely melt the miniatures.

As for paints, nice artist paints will certainly work for miniatures. The real difference is likely the thickness of the medium used. Make sure you thin those paints to get nice smooth coats.

As an artist you probably know more than I about paint brushes, but here's a tip I wish I learned earlier. Just because the miniature is small, your paintbrush shouldn't necessarily be small. As long as it can hold a fine tip, a large belly is generally preferred.

I just finished listened to dan brewer as well as bitchparty's updated review of the book and its got me looking at some other options that I hadn't even considered.

Did they talk about it recently? Where could we find it?

Has anybody thought out a colour scheme for themselves? I’ve been thinking of using the Lord of the rings high elf scheme, or something at least a little inspired by it!

I liked the opalescent idea a few pages back. I have some FW shimmering blue ink that looks opalescent. I've been wanting to try it out.

  8. Just picked up a Verminlord for my quarentine painting. I have a skryre army with 60 clanrata right now and I'm not sure which Verminlord to build. Any suggestions?

Also, would you recommend sub assembly? If so what parts?

As much as we've been talking over the reveal, the new models, and the implications thereof, there's a slightly scary question we haven't been asking.  Is the cracked stone look actually on the model, or did they paint that freehand?

I was thinking the same thing. They don't usually do freehand, do they?

  10. Skaven are always at each other's throat even when working together. Each skaven is there because they are either too scared to retreat, are being paid, are in the process of filling a scheme, or are waiting for their opportunity to backstab someone of higher tank and take their place. Usually it's for all of those reasons at the same time.

For example a Clan Skryre Engineer might hire some Clan Pestilens plague monks because they serve as meat shields for the precious warplightning cannon. Meanwhile a plague priest has sent the plague monks to spy on the engineer and spread a great plague on both the freecity and Clan Skryre.

There are always multiple levels of schemes with Skaven.
