Unfortunately this list is a non starter, for several reasons.  Firstly, and most importantly, the Goretide battalion can't be taken in Matched Play as it did not receive a Pitched Battle profile in the General's Handbook 2018.  Secondly,  I believe the Slaughterborn battalion requires 2 units of Skullreapers. and you only have one.

Edit: Thanks @Xasz, that's what I get for rushing through the book!

Oh true! I must have missed that battalion requires 2 units of Skullreapers. All right, if I just drop 2 units of 10 blood warriors to 5 then I'll able to add another unit of Skullreapers and the battalion require is solved, 1940/2000p.

  2. Hello I'm going to the Sweden's biggest tournament and I've thought about taking the big battalion Goretid with Slaughterborn and Gore Pilgrims so that it's nice to move D6 in hero phases, especially for Bloodsectror before using Portal of Skulls. Fun is that Mighty Lord of Khorne can pile in 8" and attack in hero phase, when he's in combat phase he will usually be safe by Doppelganger Cloak (I don't know if he will be alived during the magic and shooting phase..), and possible for Slaughterborn units to charge and attack in hero phase with a single attack of their weapons.

However I'm most unsure which one Exalted Deathbringer's weapon I'll take, as you can see I've chosen Sword of Judgement so that he will hunt heroes and monsters if possible and hoping to stay within 12" of khorne general, with shield he has strong to shield against magic mws and with 6 attacks +2 by general + 1 by banner so he has 9 attacks so that Sword of Judgement's chance will be increased, however he can still be improved hits by Killing Frenzy by Priests.

If I take the Impaling Spear one I'll lose an attack but he has also a good ability to chance doing extra mws. Which one of Deathbringers I'll bring..? Take a check on my army list! What do you think about this? I've tried to play two games against Fyreslayers and Legions of Sacrament and I won two matches, not so very strong list but very effective for the mobility and strategy for objectives.

Hi folks, quick couple of questions for you.

Do you prefer paired axes or gorefists on blood warriors?

Are meatripper axes worth considering on bloodreavers?

Currently running 2 min units of each in gore pilgrims.

My experience is that Gorefists are often prefered than Paired Axes where they still suck at 4+ to wound, it just makes a little different but if you build min 10 up to 30 warriors then I would take Paired Axes where it will be more offensive. Gorefists are better if you go small units like 5-10 men and hoping that they stay in cover so that Gorefists will be more useful, maybe if you go priest with +1 to save too..

Meatripper Axes are better but it still depends on which unit you are facing against and what your list looks. If you go against Nighthaunts or ID, Reaver Blades win :P

Gore Pilgrims I would prefer 2 min unit because for the blood for the god. But as I told, it depends on what type of list you go.

Regarding that, is it needed that at least 1 monger is alive ? I mean if i send them to a big boss that kill them all, can I still select the boss to attack itself ?

I read it and I would say yes. Each time he is slain, then choose an enemy model that is within 2" of the slain model. It means still if I had only a Wrahthmonger and he has been killed by a monster, it will works with Bloodfury and after that, the Wrathmonger model is removed ;)

It says "each time" a wrathmonger is slain, so as long as there is at least one enemy model within 2" that hasn't been affected by bloodfury then yes, he can pick a different model.  You can get creative with model removal to try to avert some damage.

Thank you! I was unsure when it says "a" as sometimes it means "any" rather than "one" or some like that. But all right, thanks! :)

Cheers! Yeah Wrathmongers are just allround awesome and act as a backup Bloodsecrator plan also. Crimson Haze basically buffs everybody except them. So yes, if Skullreapers are near them (often behind) they too will recieve additional attacks.

Bloodfury is the main selling point, you can choose what it attacks, including itself. So yeah Stonehorn, Archaon's etc. punching themselves. Heck even Skarband tries to knock himself out.

By my way I got a question about Wrathmongers Bloodfury, say if 10 Ironguts have killed 5 Wrathmongers in that combat phase, is there possible that 5 Ironguts fight themselves or only 1 Irongut?

Want to make sure if I've understood right before I'll play with them in the tournament soon!

@Overtyrant of Destruction list looks solid Fredrik! I would probably say that you could just fill it up to 2000 because with one Bloodletter block and a Wrath of Khorne I don't think you would need that many more Command Points...

However do as you please, this will work out.  I think I'd put the Skullreapers to 5, add 5 Wrathmongers, drop the 10 Bloodreavers and use the 30 points to upgrade the 5 Blood Warriors to 10.

@Killax Thank you for reply! I needed an inspiration and now you got me to use Wrathmongers! However I've never played with them so sometimes I cannot understand English very well.. so Crimson Haze means that it buffs all foes, so say if Skullreapers stay near to Wrathmonger, Skullreapers will gain 1 extra attack with their weapons?

And Bloodfury.. if a model of Wrathmongers is slain, then I can choose an enemy model within 2" to attack only its unit or itself? Possible like Stonehorn punches himself? ?

  8. Hello! My first time to post in Khorne's group, I was an Ogor-player (as you maybe can see my profile picture ?)

I've played some tournaments as Khorne and I like its gamestyle a lot and it has become funnier in AoS 2 when summoning has updated!
Anyways I've played lastest tournament in Umeå (north of Sweden) where 40 players are playing there, two days for 5 matches and I went with Red Headsmen and Gore Pilgrims. I won 3 matches in a row against BoC, Tzeentch and Death but next day I lost 2 games against Death and Seraphon :( . Red Headsmen I honestly think it works amazing, very strategic and dangerous to play with. I took 6x5 Blood Warriors to boost up Worthy Foe for extra attacks, Skullgrinder has Dimension Blade and Aspiring Sword of Jugdement. Worst game I've played ever was against Death where they had 2 heroes so my battalion didn't do well. 5 Skullreapers was included in my army list and they helped a lot. However I've noticed that I hate when Priests often are the key, if prayers become very unlucky then it changes dramatically in game...

Now I'll have a another tournament in late of October and I've made a list if you maybe want to leave some feedbacks (sorry it will not be Red Headsmen this time).

    Allegiance: Khorne

    Wrath Of Khorne Bloodthirster (320)
    - General

    - Artefact: Talisman of Burning Blood

    Battleline

    - Goreaxe & Gorefist
    10 x Bloodreavers (70)
    - Reaver Blades
    10 x Bloodreavers (70)
    - Reaver Blades
    30 x Bloodletters (320)

    10 x Skullreapers (340)
    - Daemonblades
    - 2x Soultearers

    Battalions
    Gore Pilgrims (200)

    Total: 1940 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 2
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 132

A little summary of how I thinking
In the first round Bloodletters will hopefully be boosted up with hits.. run, charge and kill with the buffs of Whipped Fury and Lord of the Blood Hunt.
When it's my turn in second round, I'll then boost up hits on my Skullreapers and hopefully to charge and doing for the Blood for the God!

Wrath of the Bloodthirster will then try to charge if it needs, with his dmg D3+2 can do very good dmg (once time he did 27 wounds on Nagash ;)).

In any of situations I can handle with objectives and so on.

This army also is a good anti-magic when it's included Gore Pilgrims and Wrath of Bloodthirster (+2 to unbind).

    Hey and thanks!
    Kind regards
    Fredrik

  9. It also costs to paint with texture and so on and it costs time :( 12 Ogors are not like useful anymore as before, when a model isn't within 1" loses 3 attacks and damage 2, 40mm was hard and now 50mm is harder.. which is a big minus.

What I get and what my summary says about Gutbusters in 2018: Ogors have been nerfed and Ironguts are now better when range 2" has become more useful.

Yeah! However, I'm waiting and see if Fungoid Cave-Shaman still works to be allied with BCR so I'll take him instead of Butcher and I of course will eat the mushroom to increase the chance for the cogs och also cast Mystic Shield on Frostlord, reroll save on 1s is never bad.

Finally! Fungoid Cave-Shaman will work to be allied with BCR!

List is nice. A lot depends on rolling that 7 for the Cogs. Turn 1 charges can be devestating if pulled off though!

  12. I'm looking forward this for BCR in AoS 2. However I've thought about how it will work best for BCR, we know that the tactic is just to charge asap in the right moment. Frostlord on Stonehorn looks much better thanks to the point cost, Frostlord on Thundertusk is also good for the point too.

My army list I think it will be great in AoS 2 (it isn't for sure yet)
    Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders

    Leaders
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)
    - General
    - Trait: Everwinter's Master

    Huskard on Stonehorn (340)
    - Blood Vulture
    - Artefact: Elixir of Frostwyrm
    Butcher (140)
    - Allies
    Endless Spells (60)
    - Chronomatic Cogs

    Battleline
    2 x Mournfang Pack (160)
    - Gargant Hackers
    2 x Mournfang Pack (160)
    - Gargant Hackers
    Stonehorn Beastriders (320)

    Units
    6 x Icefall Yhetees (240)

    Battalions
    Jorlbad (160)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Allies: 140 / 400
    Wounds: 92

Butcher will cast endless spell cogs so that we will get bonus 2+ to move and charge rolls in the battleplan, value is 7. The general will roll for Everwinter to hope get bonus move 3, otherwise reroll. If all that was successful it will mean that Stonehorn has moved 17 and then they will roll for run. Mournfangs with the battalion Jorlbad which allow them to run and charge, so they have moved  13 and then roll for run. Yhetees has 9 move so with everwinter and cogs they will move 14 instead and then they can roll for run (hope to get pile in within 6"). We will start with 2 command points in the first turn thanks by the battalion, one of units will have At the Double so that the unit will run roll of 6. Another 1 point will use by Frostlord's Bellowing of Voice which allow all units within 18 of him to reroll failed for charge rolls. Mournfang's musician can roll with 3 dices and remove the one lowest dice.

My though about BCR has great possible to charge units in the very first turn.

  13. Butcher (or Slaughtermaster in Fantasy Battle) with the cauldron is actually Skrag the Slaughterer, the special character who was killed by Grimgor Ironhide during the End Times.

Skrag the Slaughterer was playable in the Age of Sigmar and he loved his Gorgers until General Handbook 2017 came then his name was removed and replaced to Butcher and there was already Butcher with his own warscroll. So now you're getting two options to use Butcher without or with cauldron if you go for bonus, cost same... I guess that only affected the base size, with cauldron has oval and is bigger than the Buthcer without cauldron but that doesn't matter much..

I've uploaded the old warscroll of Skrag if you're interested to see.

I also've made a simple cauldron by greenstuff to my Butcher model, that might seems a bit ugly but it works fine ;) I used him to the tournament and got feedbacks 'Is that your blood' 'Is that a soup?' O.o

Sorry about my grammar but hope you still understand me!
