Tell that to the people who died on the talons of chaos and those on the streets who can't find a job due to sigmars own people putting them down. See i can understand his past decision but he is still allowing it to be felt a generation later.

Hence why the grand theogonist is cracking down and seeking more authority because she fears humans worshipping other gods than sigmar. As we can see in the lore its happening.

Well ;) Thanks to Sigmar they are now avenged, their killers being destroyed. And thanks to Sigmar there is at least streets to be unemployed in ! Even for the reclaimed the situation is way better now than under the dominion of chaos !

As grungi said sigmar does not dumb things down for the little people he expects them to understand. He expects people to rise to meet him per grungi's words.

I really love how complex the AOS setting has become in 2.5 years !

And joke aside, I agree with you shinros. (Your quote) is a side of Sigmar's character that IMO is a reference to the Emperor in 40k.

One thing tho, even if I understand normal people don't have our view and understanding of the story, when you worship an immortal like this you have to keep faith. That's what the Stormhosts like the Hallowed Knight are made up with, people keeping the faith.

So I have read path to glory and I have to say I enjoyed it what it shows is how people felt when sigmar shut the gates and trust me you feel for these people. If you read up on the setting such a decision is being felt even in the present with the reclaimed and not even once does sigmar explain himself. I honestly get Grungi's words in spear of shadows I can easily see why people turned to chaos or especially nagash in this case.

Also stormcast have no right to have beef with people that went over to chaos because of sigmar closing the gates to ayzr. Plus sigmar is also enabling the situation with reclaimed. I really understood why the characters were upset in this short story.

I know you are a heretic a Nagash worshipper, but even when your empire gets destroyed around you, you don't have to challenge the will of your god... ;)

Andy when you see the power of Chaos, and the might of Archaon, you don't have to be a genius to understand Sigmar's move (Sigmar who already lost his home once because of Chaos).

I sincerely think the retreat to Azyr was the only good answer to the Everchosen's multi dimensional invasions.

Look at how well the others fared. It may have took Archaon three centuries, but Nagash was finally defeated, and Shyish all but conquered. Malerion hid in Ulgu, Alarielle was driven mad, Aqshy was almost entirely destroyed by Khorne, etc.

I'm guessing Legions of Nagash come out before the Harbingers, I would expect legion on the 3rd, harbingers on the 10s and the 27th to be a 'deadzone' week.

Yeah that's a possibility ! As they teased Custrodes-Thousand Sons-Legions Of Nagash together. I'd be fine with that.

I just fear that the Knight Of Shrouds won't be in the Battletome...

WH40K Custodes 2nd wave + Thousands Sons Codex

Good ! As expected, the Thousand Sons Codex comes with the second AC wave.

So yeah it's indeed time for some Shadespire AND some Harbingers to show up !

  6. BTW the release schedule we were discussing on page 362 seems now quite invalidated :

    1) The data coming from Haechi on Advanced Tau Tactia are still right (at least for the January - February Custodes).

    2) The little snippets about Warhammer Underworlds were already known (I guess Bloodbowl and Necromunda too ?).

    3) The true Codex release seems to be : everything stated until June, then (see the pic attached) :

    - August = Space Wolves, and ;

    - December = Orks.

.... It seems that all the non Heachi-coming rumors / non already-known Specialist Games rumors were false.

So if the new rumors are right, it means :

May : no Space Wolves, so.... no "Boxed Games" ?

June : no Orks, so.... no 40k campaign ?

Month two of the Malign Portents painting competition begins on 13/02/18 and is to paint the Harbinger for your chosen faction, so 10th, possibly even the week before seems about right.

Yeah ! I'd say 3rd or 10th ; next week end is second half Custodes - maybe with Thousand Codex (because no new mini with this one).

We'll see with the pre-pre order this evening.

I could see it. Morathi is probably pretty pissed at Slaanesh for...eating her and Nagash ALSO hates Slaanesh for stealing Aelven souls. I could see a mutually beneficial partnership there.

But Nagash is mad at aelven gods for stealing the souls back from him ! ;)

Nagash is mad at everyone these days

I would be absolutely shocked if forgeworld does anything for aos for at least a few years. They're caught up in the heresy 7thvs8th thing, they're going to have to do 8th rules for custodes soon, they're miles behind their 40k releases with the super late fires of cyraxis, and they never really seemed to like WHFB or AoS anyway.

Not a huge loss, outside of the Mourngul their fantasy sculpts weren't anything special.

Yeah I can't see anymore coming from the good old Warhammer Forge.

Unless they still have some AOS Character Series kits, like the big Khorne Dragon we've seen at Open days.

It could even be that the WH40K Thousands Sons release only consists of a new codex that could well be released on the 2nd week of Custodes..

Given the Regimental Standards about new Tzaangors, I'm sure the Codex TS is around the corner.

I think the Harbingers are coming the 3rd or 10th of February.

While imo the Maggotkin release (miniatures + book) is great, it seems a bit strange that AoS will only see 4 new miniatures (Heralds) and a re-release of a scenery kit until late march. Hopefully GW will squeeze something extra miniature wise in for AoS until late march. That said, I am very happy for the possibility to have finally new Aelves. Hopefully my friend will finally join in on AoS full force with the release of Aelves.

But I have to admit, when I heard the first talks about Malign Portents I expected to see a lot of new Death miniatures, which currently doesn't see seem to be the case for the first 6 months of 2018.

Me too, about Death and about more models untill end of March. And it is still a possibility.

I don't want to be disappointed, so I try to be cautious (and between the "productions problem" GW seems to have recently experienced, and the fact we still have Bloodbowl, Necromunda and mainly 40k taking places in the general GW release schedule, I'm not very optimistic :P )

  12. 4 minutes ago, Kaleb Daark said:

no. you've jumped too soon on this one.  I didn't say the voice was Be'lakor.  I believe that to be neferata as it mentions dragging him into the realm of death and nagash far too often.

I was saying that the realm of shadow storyline could be a way of re-introducing the dark master's involvement into the AoS landscape that was all.

Well we are discussing the last Malign Portents video. Between the video, and the text describing it in the last GW newsletter, Neferata is out, and Morathi si more than probable.

But man I would love SO MUCH to see Be'lakor again (especially a new model) ! Just... not now - yeah maybe after Slaanesh. So end of the year, the next one.

Just to say, he still has a whole page of fluff in the last Chaos Daemons codex. But alas no implication of him being active in the current 40k narrative...

shadow could also mean Belakor, the whole  waiting and manipulating events from the shadows has his name all over it.

No hint about Be'lakor whatsoever since AOS launch (but his entry in GA : Chaos), nothing to do with "his children", and since when has Be'lakor a female voice ?

  14. 1 hour ago, Burf said:

The 40k bit is wrong. The 'leaked' release schedule only shows codexes until june or w/e but there are between 5-10 (depending on faction shake-out) that still need to be released after Orkz.

Yeah, I'm not basing this part on the "leaked schedule", but on the direct statement by GW that they would start doing campaigns books after much of the codexes are out mid 2018, and from the Ork rumors for this summer (like the Truk-like wheel Rumor engine).

    1 hour ago, Elmir said:

(...) In that campaign, it was pretty obvious  that destruction and death players are no where near numerous enough to win in that kind of campaign. If GW only releases new Chaos and order MODELS before that campaign, that really isn't going to help! I can't imagine GW completely ignoring death in the sculpting department again during malign portents, but if the timing you are saying is true, the "story arc of death" would certainly be off to a false start for death players.  -.-

Yeah, well, Fate of Konor was about Death Guard vs Ultramarine.... And Death Guard didn't showed up until the end of the campaign :P

But they still get an awesome release just after, so there is still hope.

Also, I guess the Legions Of Nagash Battletome will make Death pretty competitive, add that the campaign rules and the GHb2017 Allegiance Abilities for many factions and I think we'll have a way more diverse "meta" than in summer 2016.

  15. So with the e-mail text about the last MP video, it's pretty obvious (at least IMO) that it's going to be Shadow Aelves, with Morathi / Malerion on the move. That's great.

And it means that we'll get some more factions before the AOS global campaign.

    - What is (almost) certain we'll get : Maggotkin of Nurgle (new models), Legions of Nagash (no new models - mayyyybe Soulblights), Shadow Aelves (new models).

    - What will come too : the 4 Harbingers, the new (reboxed) scenery, the Malign portents campaign book.

There will probably be more, but with the "MP painting muster" event being January-February-March, I don't think we'll get more until that point.

    - April-May-June is Aelves and 40k ; 40k being the end of the codex rush rereleases (and as GW stated), the start of new narrative campaigns for 40k (NB : after the codexes, 40k will probably get new campaign supplements like Gathering Storm, Wrath of Magnus, etc, and NOT a 40k global campaign like Season of War / Fate of Konor : this year is for an AOS global campaign).

    - In June-July (because summer holidays) we should see the launch of the global campaign, website-based (like Season of War / Fate of Konor), so no new campaign book (we'll already have the MP one), with results destined to change the ongoing AOS narrative.

    - In June we'll also so get "Souls War", byJosh Reynolds, surely dealing with the narrative part of the global campaign. That should include (IMO) the Great work of Nagash being completed, with himself leading the invasion of the Mortal Realms.

    - If we get a new Death faction at some point this year (which I really hope), then this summer campaign is probably the ideal moment to release it (this new death army could probably be a part of the Great work too - and I think it could be more of a Skeleton / Reanimant army than Soulblight army).

Soulblight Allegiance is being included in the LoN book (along with GA: Death). The only reason I can think of the allegiance being in this book so soon after GHB (especially with Nighthaunt and FEC not being included), is that is has received some sort of change.

Yes, and by change, I hope we mean new models ;)

With this strange inclusion in the LoN book, there is another two hints this could happen :

    1. On the WHTV about Malign Portents, Phil Kelly said to look at the Shyish Innerland Marshes map for new release hints. The only location with a faction described is the Necros Island, where a vampire army has defeated the Khorne invaders.

    2. In the last Malign portents video, the female voice could belong to Neferata, and the "my children" part could refer to the vampire from her bloodline (she is the first vampire of the realms with Mannfred). Also, Vampire are sometimes called "children of the night".

But then, with the new rumor about Aelves, and the probability the voice in the video belong to Morathi, we really can't say....

    @HorticulusTGA

So you think it's plausible that we will see two Aelves faction released side by side? It does sound nice Aelves on ?waterhorses? and an expansion on the Witch Aelves theme.

Well hopefully it's Darkoath, Death, two Aelves factions, Stormcast, Slaanesh, Light Aelves and skaven for 2018!

I really don't know, I'd say (given the last MP video and other clues already discussed above), we'll have :

    - February : MP book, 4 Harbingers, some new (old) sceneries, Legions Of Nagash (if it's Neferata in the video, then we could see Soulblight too).

     -March : following of MP.

    - April-may : Aleves. I find it REALLY strange to have two different factions but why not (that would be two Shadow aelf factions, so we would still need something else for Light Aelves, Tyrion and Teclis).

    - June to November : unknown.

    - November - December- January (2019) : Slaanesh 40k and AOS.

Around that, mayyyybe Darkoath and Moonclan, and more probably new Stormcasts (I hope with proper Sceneries like Stormkeep).

Another year no skaven other than a warband it seems! The horned rat is not pleased!

The two schedules only goes to June, so... Also, per the existing fluff, at least Clans Eshin are involved in the Fate of Slaanesh (which could see releases, like a Slaanesh Battletome at the end of 2018-2019). Also Eshin alreadyhave an official AOS miniature now (from WHQ) ;)

How plausible is the rumour about a big Aelf release in may/june? I assume that around april/may the second new army for AoS will be released? This month Maggotkin of Nurgle and than around 3 months later the second AoS army for this year.

Also according this rumoured release schedule no  Shadespire warband 7 and 8 (SC/Khorne) before june. That seems a bit strange.

     16b8e82f42a0297f00d8502410e57604_116971.

This leak seems to come from various rumors, and to be mainly 40k-oriented.

It seems to come from this poster who was quite right back in November about Daemons and Adeptus Custodes, so you could say it's reliable.

On twitch today Phil Kelly  said new factions super soon, keep an eye on MalignPortents.com.

Could be a reference to the new death changes, but it sounds like new models.

My local GW store manager said he 'saw an incredible new Black Coach'. I asked where and he said .. not on something public.

    YEAH !

I saw (on DakkaDakka ?) that PK said on WHTV that there would be new typical-AOS factions (like Kharadron Overlords I guess...) soon.

So a Death Release may be ... Not so typical, unlike Cthullu Shadow Aleves ?

    I don't know and I want both :P

EDIT : I just saw on the MP thread that PK said "no comment" about Aelves, and the the Realms of Light and Shadows will not play a big part in MP, unlike Vandus.
