I'm wondering whether it would actually be viable to run Royal Family (boosted with majestic Horror) and Ghoul Patrol in the same army for a huge surge of first turn summoning and magical dominance through sheer number of wizards.
Probably not, but it'd be worth seeing if you could use the horrors/flayers and 10-ghoul units you can chain summon as distractions long enough to build your Ghoul Patrol units to an appreciable size.
That’s what I’m running
GKoZD general majestic horrow

Morning all,
We've had a mini boom in ticket sales over the last week (I can't possibly imagine why people are suddenly excited to play AoS haha!), which is absolutely fantastic. One thing I'm particularly pleased about is seeing a bunch of new names, but of course thanks to everyone who is committing to the event. We're gonna have a great weekend in Cardiff!
Up to 83 players now, which beats last years attendance. Still hopeful of seeing even more people getting on board, with the likes of @ChippyRick, @Countmoore & @Nigehelm previously expressing interest.
Don't forget to get your grudges in as well.
Pennies sent. I’ve given Nige a nudge too

Really looking forward to coming up for this with the family. What are the painting categories? Do the models have to be in your army? And can none gamers enter?
Thanks

Q: Can I use some models which are still on square bases?
A: Owing to continental norms this will be permitted but common sense should be applied in relation to melee range and pile ins. Where agreement can't be sensibly reached the benefit of the doubt will be given in favour of the player not using square bases in the point of contention. Pack will be amended.Eurgh not a fan of this at all. Can we not at least insist on bluetacking onto rounds?

Tickets purchased!
Quick question, when you say 1500 Vanguard force, does that mean we'll only need 2 battleline? Or is it standard 3 battleline rules for 1500?
2 battleline, max 4 hero’s etc.
Be great to see you.
Thanks

I'm talking about things like area terrain blocking line of sight, hills that provide a benefit to holding them, difficult terrain that can slow an army (right now the game moves on fast forward and while I see how that can be appealing, I really miss when holding a ford or bridge or whatever meant something) - -things like rivers and lakes slowing you down.
So mysterious terrain then?
damned d3 mortal wound gives you your +1 to hit
deadly doesn’t slow you down but on a 1 you lose the model
It really isn’t that complicated and the scenery dice @Ben produces are brilliant for a quick reference in game.

Those lists!! #shame
Dunno if anyone else going plays the Final Fantasy TCG, but me and @Tom Hewitt are bringing our decks along. We'll be arriving early afternoon(ish) along with @The Lost Lighthouse (Gary) and @Andy Talbot.
What happened to all the other entrants? Seems like a lot of dropouts
I'll be down earlyish.

Are we getting a draw and/or the lists?
cheers

Lol - don't know what the exact words say, but purely from "Rule of Cool" I'm totally allowing it. I seem to remember something similar with The Changeling and Nagash recently.......
Rule of cool it is ?
-
Question for you. Can the changeling double 6 to wound Archaon with his own sword to 'take him off'?
Would have asked earlier but didn't count on so many Archaons!
-
Thanks Paul. Not my list though but you're right one of the gang will find a loophole. ?
-
Can you make a none hero your general in this? Can't see anything but just wondering in light of the agendas.
