  1. I can see the shooting heavy comp and I might agree or not but this time wanna focus on something else.

As @adreal brought it upi m gonna ask: endless spells. Which one, if any, might or surely will be beneficial to a Wanderers army?

I have been thinking about the quicksilver swords as they are the spell that travels the most and  could buy us a bit more time (a luky roll onthe 12 dice will make our life on oneshotting characters a lot easier, like 3-4 mw) against fast cc armies.

But then others might be useful. Do you guys see them working for us? Is there one we can takw advantage of to empower our strong side or the one we need is one that fulfills a role Wanderers cannot fulfil?

So...I really wanted a warherd in v1 but never had the balls to paint up an army I knew kind of sucked. With V2 though I'm all in for the fun and also think this isn't that bad....what do you all think? (points left off so I don't spoil for people who don't want to know)

    Doombull

    Doombull

    Great bray shaman

    6 Bullgor

    6 Bullgor

    6 Bellgor

    30 Bestigor

Either a Ghorgon and a Cygor with 20pts spare for a spell or...

two Cygor with 40pts spare...cogs I think is around 40 and would help with movement.

@Lardidar: Bestigors and Bullgors really do the same thing, so it probably makes more sense to take cheaper units with bigger numbers to best support the bullgors rather than the hittiest unit. I think a unit of 30 raiders plus  a unit of 20 raiders might work to support a warherd army (or even just a bunch of gors/ungors).

I'm liking the idea of double cygors to make magic heavy armies uncomfortable.

If you play Warherd allegiance you cannot fit 3xraiders+20xraiders instead of the Bestigors, as with the GBS it will be 500 pts and the limit is 400, so you either take the magic and 30xraiders ad you have more points for ES or you go heavy on the Bestigor and the GBS (which is 400pts). Or last option is you saturate with raiders and forget the magic (so yes, 3xraiders+20xraiders will give you 400pts but you lose on magic).

And btw I sorta disagree regarding Bullgors and Bestigors doing the same thing. Bestigora are a lot more tank-y and the amount of wound they produce is insane regardless of if they attack first or they strike after the opponent does. Plus they have the advantage of the number so they can stick on objectives forever. Bullgors for more points have less wound, less armor and less dmg output (unless you use abilities in them). That said I love me some Bullgors either in a Warherd or in a Brayherd army because on the flavor they give to the army.

Speaking of Cygors I love the idea of moving catapults with the threat for enemy mages, and now the threat got extended to 30" so no wizard will be immune to them no more. The higher the amount of spells you can cast the higher the chance of failing the cast and taking a MW (or two if you field more Cygors). Plus they re-roll failed hitts against mages so every boulder that they throw will be directed at a mage (Nagash, Archaon, tzeentch chicken are all very nice targets as they do not benefit from "look-out sir", and the list can continue, Grandpa Nurgle, Arkhan and the mortarks, Slaans, big Morathi.....). I will definitely try with one at least but two is veeery tempting. They received a pretty big buff in the new edition.

  3. Target saturation; something for my opponent to think about as the two of them together hit hard (especially with an enemy unit hit by devolve that unwillingly moves toward them). I know they are not the best choice as allies but they did well recently, plus I spent a butt-load of money on those two plus other minos from a Kickstarter and the models are awesome and I wanna play them?.

  4. In my 1500 pt Brayherd list I dropped down to 1390 pts which give me the space for 1 or 2 endless spells and a command point to spend on one of my doombulls. The list translates in:

GBS  general, Scion of the dark gods 100

GBS   (could do Brayblast trumpet or idk if they are gonna change anything in the artifacts department) 100

    Doombull  great axe   120

    Doombull   pair of axes   120

    30xGors   210

    20xGors   160

    30xBestigors 300

    20xUngor raiders   160

    Tuskgor chariot   60

    Tuskgor chariot   60

    1390/1500

    Allies 240/300

The idea is to get half of the opponent's army stuck with the gors and take space on the board with the chariots (either to absorb charges or to deny options of movement to big models). The other half will have to deal with 30 bestigors and 2 madcows rolling across the table. Everything supported by my 2 GBS which in theory will remain in range of the Braystone being able to add +2 to casting and +1 to unbinding.

As per the remaining points I am planning on bringing a spell that will allow me to get not over 1450 to be able to have that 1 more command point and rain havoc at the right moment (depending on the match I might be able to save my first command point so that in turn 2 I have 3 available and, Khorne forbid I need to use the re-roll charge CA or the run 6" one, at least I will be sure to get in CC when I please).

Realized after looking over my list I don't think it would be legal with a Warherd Allegiance. Below is the new list with Grand Alliance Chaos as the allegiance. I lowered the Bestigors to 10, and split the Gors into 3 groups of 10 for battle line purposes.  With the new points this should get me to 1900, which would allow me to get up to 50 points worth of Endless Spells, and 1 Command Point at the start of the game.?

    Allegiance: Chaos

    Doombull (120)

    - General

    - Axe & Shield

    Great Bray Shaman (90)

    Great Bray Shaman (90)

    Doombull (120)

    - Great Axe

    10 x Gors (80)

    - Gor-Blades & Beastshields

    10 x Gors (80)

    - Gor-Blades & Beastshields

    10 x Gors (80)

    - Gor-Blades & Beastshields

    6 x Bullgors (360)

    - Great Axes

    3 x Bullgors (180)

    - Great Axes

    10 x Bestigors (140)

    Cygor (200)

    Ghorgon (200)

    Jabberslythe (120)

    Jabberslythe (120)

    Total: 1980 / 2000 (1900 w/ new points)

    Allies: 0 / 400

    Wounds: 150

So, as far as I know if the Allegiance is Warherd, the previous list was correct as far as battleline, as bullgors count as BL in Warherd armies. As per allies points you were over 400 so should everything keep the same with the new GHB, you will have to cut on the gors but now Bestigors are 300 for 30!!!!!! (I am quite sure they dropped 20 pts) (which is insane) and alongside one GBS will be 400 pts on the dot of allies. As per Jabberslythes then yeah, if you need them you will have to drop the Warherd allegiance as there will be too may allies if not.

Although still, if going Chaos GA I advise to find space for a big unit of Bestigor as they are an absolute MUST in a Beast armies IMO, I think there will not be a more cost effective 300 pts in the game!!

  6. Thing is that if raider have to be in higher numbers to be effectives I am not very sure how you manage to pull off the battalion as the requirement in units is crazy high  ( I mean not that they win you the game if they have the number or something, is just that 10 men units are really really useless and take a lot pf points). I have not tried to make up one but it looks tricky. And I think now that bestigor got cheaper and bullgors got cheaper and we can use the command abilities from other characters and Cygors have more chances to do dmg, maybe I se better a mixed list rather than a pure Brayherd. But maybe is just me.

  7. Wow that is a loooooooot of bodies!!!!!!!!!!! I got a lot of minis but I don t think I ll be able to pull off a battalion list with that many!

I found the raiders very efficient in units 20-30 men strong but I don t particularly like 10 of them only I feel the don t do what 20 do. Even if they shoot pretty ****** (and still, I play wanderers too and they by all means pull out more dmg than Glade Guards for less points) they still fulfill that annoying role of "I got a shooty unit on the objective and you don t really care because you consider them ****** so you don t kill them". For me 20 of them have always been MVP, every single match!!!!

  8. With the 30" dispel range now I really see Cygor becoming a bit more used. I will definitely gonna give it a try and see what they can do as now the can stay a little bit more behind and still b threatening for wizards. Can you see a tzeentch chicken or Nagash taking MW due to a beastman!!!!!! So hilarious!!!!!

Minotaurs are dropping in points I think to 140 which is very promising considering the don't really do much plus now being able to pile them in better at least it will be some more attacks in. I very well see 6xBullgors + 1 Doombull to have his command ability on them

Dude, AoS has had more new models than 40k this year. AoS has 2 new factions this year. 40k hasn't had any new factions. AoS has Malign Portents. 40k just got a new edition, and AoS stil had more models and new factions. GW are putting a lot of effort into AoS, even though it's the smaller game.

I doubt GW could have done more for AoS in recent months. The amount of content since December is through the roof actually...

This is the point, my rant was not about recent releases (shame on me to doubt that) and the amount of new models they added for the armies is insane...recently! In here stand my point. While AoS when it came out had very few updates for the armies now 40k is throwing out 1-2 books per month. I will be veeeeery happy if they keep going like they are doing now because now (from December) they are releasing like they are doing in 40k.

    2. In July, we will get the first AOS big FAQ, as said here : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/01/29/warhammer-age-sigmar-faqs-new-model/

So the rumored changes to the core rules may happen with this FAQ like in 40k, and not in a "new rulebook".

This is the thing though, when they announced it in January they did not release a BIG FAQ. The FAQ'ed the new LON (and maybe MON) but no BIG changes like we are seeing now for 40k. Also emailing them the auto-email said they should release an FAQ in March (like 40k) and this makes me think they might just be delaying it (like they have done for 40k xD:P) to now in April.

I feel soooo frustrated not having the same attention 40k is receiving and having constant delays. They say 40k is their top game because it is the most requested and this is why it is receiving a lot of attention, but if you don't put effort in AoS (or at least very little effort) how do you think you will recover the crowd Warhammer had back in the days (before all the mess WHFB was indeed their top game)? When it was a New Game, I do not recall AoS receiving this much attention as 40k now (since they made the "New Game Edition"); after 40k 8th ed was released they made a MASSIVE effort in catching up with the armies update to the new rules (up to now 10 months post 8th ed they almost updated all the races books) as opposed to AoS which in the same amount of time received less then 10 armies (some of which new, this is true) and in the next 2 years received 2 armies update of armies that already were released (and they called those releases!!!!!!!) and a number of new armies I personally think not enough in number to make the AoS experience different enough to be enjoyable at all times (considering that all the old armies have not been updated properly (Beastclaws are unplayable, Bonesplitterz, FEC and Ironjaw are undertuned, and Sylvaneth are borderline playable and all other "non-AoS faction are just for fun).

I might have made some mistakes in the details but those were not the point of the problem. What I wanted to highlight is the fact I don't think is correct AoS receive soooo little attention compared to their other main game.

Also I am sorry if I brought a bit of negativity but I had to take this off my chest :P. All insults and critics are now very welcome....I deserve themxD.

    Cheers

Hey guys, need some advice on how to base some of my models:

Dreadlord on Black Dragon : 120X92mm or 105x75mm or 130mm round

    Hydra : 120X92mm or 105x75mm

    Drakespwn Chariot : 120X92mm or 105x75mm

    Thanks!

ok so, for all those peeps who don t know still or are uncertain about their basing for monsters and behemoth, the snake version of Morathi will be supplied with a 100mm base so all those black dragons, dragon lord/mage, which still cannot find a fit...well. there it is. I think Morathi's model will be big enough to be comparable with all these dragons meaning 130mm is way too big for them.

  12. the return of Dreadfleet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a big kraken monster for Dreadfleet.

speaking seriously, I am always more intrigued by the possibility of a Scourge privateers faction. We have seen a lot of rumours lately that could lead to a naval faction. Not particularly fond of Dark elves prefer the silvan kind but it would be a good addition to the new fantasy look GW pulled out lately (Nurgle god of re-birth more than god of roth, steampunk fliyng dwarf fleets....).

  13. I also thought about some monster of a kind as I think they turned the picture at least 90° (the bracelet is falling a bit anti-gravitationally) to confuse the waters. From there to say it is an Aelf or a Dark Eldar or a vampire or necromunda chicks I don t know.

That new #DarkOath model looks awesome. ..

    Bring on the #DarkOath faction!

Maybe in the same way they teased Cthulu aelves with the the models from Silver Tower, now they are teasing a new Norsca themed army......out in 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if people want access I can dish it out, but we had issues early on with the open doc getting messed with.  a few moderators would be great to keep it updated

I notice Treelord and Treelord Anient on the sheet are on 170mm oval bases which seem a bit excessivexD. On GW website they say they supply the box with a 105mm oval base ( I assume 105x90mm). Maybe one of the admin would like to change it ^_^

As part of this, apart from Secret Weapons Miniatures and MicroArt Studios (both great base makers btw), does anyone know of other good resin base manufacturers I could look at with ranges that include ovals?
