For some reason those non-mask/faceplate helmets seem wrong on those Stormcast.

I kind of like them. It makes the unit look more distinct and lends them a Hoplite-look which fits their weaponry.

There are still plenty of new miniatures for the Skaven and Stormcast Eternals, and next week, we’ll be showing off another reimagined unit developed by the Clans Skryre. Later today, we’ll also be previewing rules from the first General’s Handbook, and we’ve got a wealth of Spearhead coverage to come.

4chan leaks jokes are always funny, but I had forgotten about the BFG rumours and I got all giddy again thinking about a reworked BFG. If I can't have decent GW ship battles, I'm fine with having decent GW spaceship battles! 🤩

I'm hoping we'll see a BFG reboot, even if it is only Heresy initially (which based off Legions Imperialis seems realistic). However part of me does hope they'll have made a conscious effort to sort out production capacity before announcing another game that will be sold out for months five minutes before pre-order.

  4. Yep, Grombrindal and WD 500 pre-orders next week.

    Quote

As a limited edition miniature, you’ll be able to pre-order Grombrindal from Saturday the 4th of May, and he’ll be available to purchase from Saturday 18th of May 2024, to Sunday the 2nd of June 2024 – anyone who orders Grombrindal during this period is guaranteed to receive one.*

Also some more Orcs & Goblin Made to Order for TOW.

Next week on Warhammer Community, we’ll be providing you with a glut of Warhammer Age of Sigmar coverage – a new miniature, details of how endless spells, invocations, and faction terrain work, details on the revamped Path to Glory mode, plus coverage of the fast and tactical new game mode, Spearhead.

Why are people surprised that the (GORGEOUS) Grombrindal Model coming for the White Dwarf anniversary 500th issue is an anniversary model treated like any other Grombrindal Models over the years and any other anniversary models ?

The fact he is getting rules (Legend or not - what's the matter ?) for AOS, Warcry, WHU and Cursed City makes me really happy.

BTW, I hugely recommand the Wanderer Chronicles and the Grombrindal Series for AOS, IMO this how you should port WFB characters into AOS (and this should be done with uttermost care and limitatively).

I think it's precisely because of the Grombrindal series that people (including me) were expecting him to be a permanent, non-Legends addition to the range. It felt like they were setting him up to serve as Grungni's 'avatar' on the tabletop, as well as lore.

    Especially after Gotrek.

What a mini! Best version of him to date.

But can someone point out the KO and FS stuff on him? It's mentioned in the article. I gonna buy this one, but he will be a king in TOW 😄

The bindings on the beard are from Fyreslayers, but admittedly I'm unsure of where the Kharadron doodads are. I guess the compass is supposed to be? They definitely played it a lot more subtle than I expected they would. Outside of Legends he'd make a good Warden King proxy for Dispossessed in that respect.

    Damn, why legends rules :|

It's probably because he's a limited edition model for the WD anniversary, but won't get a general release.

Hopefully in the future we might see a different, regular production version. I realise that's very optimistic at this point but what the heck I'll always hope for more Dawi.

This Grombrindal miniature will be released alongside White Dwarf 500 next month and will be available for a limited time only. What’s more, he will receive Legends rules for use in Warhammer Age of Sigmar, alongside rules for Cursed City, Warcry, and Warhammer Underworlds. There will also be a selection of special battle plans and scenarios in the magazine, so it looks like his list of jobs is about to get a little longer…

    I love him so much.

  9. No models for AoS next week, but a new omnibus as well as Yndrasta: The Celestial Spear in paperback.

Chart the continuing history of Warhammer Age of Sigmar in War for the Mortal Realms – a new omnibus collecting companion novels from each edition of the game with new interstitial sections bridging the gaps between major events in the Age of Sigmar. It’s a perfect way to get caught up with the affairs of the Mortal Realms before the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar lands later this year, with exciting stories by Chris Wraight, Josh Reynolds, and Darius Hinks.

Presumably it contains Gates of Azyr, Soul Wars and Dominion.

  10. Magic and Prayers preview, along with a couple more Warscrolls.

Wizards and Priests now functioning somewhat differently in their mechanics I think is really cool.

We’ll be revealing another new miniature on Monday, and learning more about battleplans, the General’s Handbook, and the battle tactics of the new edition.

  11. Skaven fluff article, mostly on their history until now.

    Quote

Rumours of late have it that there has been a vast incursion of Skaven into Aqshy, that they now control all the land east of Hel Crown and will soon be in a position to threaten the heartlands of the Great Parch, and perhaps eventually even Hammerhal Aqsha itself. Madmen speak of eerie green light beyond the mountains, and the terrible clanging of brass bells. They say that the loathsome ratmen have burst forth in other realms too, that nowhere is safe from the rise of the verminous tide.

  12. Rules preview for the new Darkoath. May be kind of redundant with 4.0 coming buuut...

    Quote

The rules for the Darkoath will be available in several places. The Darkoath Army Box, which is available for pre-order this weekend, contains Battletome Supplement: Darkoath. The rules are also printed inside the upcoming final book of the Dawnbringers series, Hounds of Chaos, alongside rules for Brand’s Oathbound and the Tribes of the Snow Peaks Army of Renown.

If neither of those is in your future, we fear you’re about to fail your sworn oath to the Dark Gods of Chaos – but you will be able to download the rules for free from Warhammer Community shortly before madness takes you.

  13. And it's DARKOATH! As well as more Bretonnians, Tomb Kings and Orcs & Goblins.

Here at Warhammer Community, we’re digging further into the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, with the next model reveal on Monday and some more rules and lore later in the week. It’s also a big Chaos shindig with new looks at the Slaves to Darkness and Chaos Space Marines, so put on your spikiest helmet and join us all week.

And on Monday, you can tune into a special edition of Hang Out and Paint at 6pm GMT, where the gang will be showing us how to tackle a Skaven Clanrat and a Stormcast Eternals Liberator.

New transfer sheet for Bretonnia as well:

Is it really cannons a FS thing? I never visualised them with cannons.

Auric Hearthguard have their Magmapikes, so a bigger version of that isn't a stretch in my opinion - even if it looked more 'primitive' than a fancy Kharadron steampunk or ye olde Dispossessed cannon.

In the lore, Fyreslayers are said to be just as good at engineering as the other Duardin, they just go about it differently.

How long after 40k 10th releasing did the indexes become available?

The core rules dropped on the first week of June, followed by the Indexes a week later, over the course of a week.

If it's anything like 10th was, they'll probably release them in order of Core Rules -> Boxset units -> Stormcast -> Skaven -> Order -> Chaos -> Death or Destruction -> Death or Destruction.

I never realised that any rules in AoS where tied to what colour you painted your models.

I think it's more of a 40k thing, where some (but far from all) tournaments wouldn't allow you to say... run Iron Hands if your army was painted as Ultramarines,
