  1. If your allegiance is ‘Skaven Pestilens’ then other Skaven units will count towards your allies - you can have 400 points of allies in a 2000 point list.

If you take the allegiance ‘Grand Alliance: Chaos’ instead you can mix and match all Skaven to your heart’s content but you will lose access to all the Pestilens goodies and artefacts.

    Hope that helps.

OK, going to throw this in the Nurgle thread  (the real Nurgle thread this time) now that the FAQs bypassed the "issue."  I believe it's legit now.

The spell is GUO's Plague Wind, cast through the Spellportal.  Pick a point within 14" of the spellportal.  Sounds fine so far.  Then draw a line  up to (34" or so) back to the caster.   Deal D3 mortals to all units hit (3D3 if using Thrice Befoulment).

I don't know about you guys, but that's nice enough for me to buy a third GUO.

Sweet idea, I really don’t think that’s RAI or even RAW to be honest, once you put a spell through the portal it becomes the origin of the spell surely?

Just to be sure, Verminlord Corruptors in nurgle generate daemon nurgle spells right?  They seemed to forgot to put that option on warscroll builder, but remembered to put in the rest of the nurgle traits and items!

I guess it’s because it’s tied to allegiance or something. Well, it’s definitely WIZARD, DAEMON and NURGLE so can’t see why not. Took one on mine last night and my opponent didn’t say anything.

  4. Got off to a winning start with my Nurgle allegiance list last night vs. Vanguard on the 6 objective battleplan.

Long story short, 2x 40 Monks charged across the board and took opposite centre and right objectives and burned them turn 2. Blightkings and Plaguebearers refused to die and held off all comers on home objectives until end of turn 3 when we called it as I was 10 points up. Think my opponent was caught off guard by the speed of the Monks.

Think you guys were right about the Sword of Judgement, had a rush of blood as I was determined to take down his Stardrake but the VC was half dead by the time he got there, did 7 mortal wounds but then died so not sure how much help he was.

2 thumbs up for my first go anyway!!

Stardrake is not a devastator.  In fact, it is rather pillowfisted.  The standard way to make them pull their weight is to give them the Staunch Defender command trait, a defensive artifact attuned to your meta (Mirrorshield for shooting, Ignax's Scales for generic mortals, Refracting Lens for magic), and then putWarding Lantern from the Lord Castellant on him.  At that point he becomes virtually unkillable and you can use him to bully your opponent.  Take a knight heraldor so that he doesn't get stuck in meaningless combat with a tough model he can't kill.

All makes sense, thanks very much  for the input mucker.

  6. It’s a good point, I’ve been daydreaming / listbuilding for Nurgle / Pestilens for a few weeks so this is my first real go. I’d like the VC to be a beat stick vs. Stormcast as there’s a lot around near me, especially the Stardrake who can be a real pain. I’ll test the Sword out but may even change to a utility artefact like the Fly and +4 move one.

  7. Quick question about FecMaws guys, when exactly do you set them up? My understanding is after the roll-off but before you pick sides? I guess what I’m asking is can you always place it in a place where it’s advantageous to you or can your opponent mess you about?

  8. I love the pale cloth idea, that’s working well for me on Nurgle Blightkings at the moment. Gold on bases sounds exciting, I’d do a few test bases first to see what you think. Post some pics!!

Not played any Pestilens before (Skaven got me into the hobby and have a Skryre army) so was looking for some tips for my Nurgle / Pestilens army if anyone has a second. The biggest one so far is how do you move the Furnace effectively? Saw someone post about dragging it up between 2 blocks of 40 Monks, is that a standard strategy? Cheers.

  9. Ah yeah cheers, do remember that, all the Pestilens would count as Allies then(?) and so it’d be over 400 points. Ah well. Would probably just spend those points on another 20 Plaguebearers instead. Was just listening to The Honest Wargamer episode with the Australian #1 Skaven player and he mentioned CoF in Nurgle as a thing so promptly robbed his idea. If anyone knows I’d be grateful.

  10. Really into the idea of a Pestilens  list at the moment, current thinking is a Congregation of Filth for less drops, a CP, the 6+ for the Monks and re-rolling of charges. Extra attack for Monks with VC command ability and then Blades for extra MW shenanigans. GUO in to throw some spells out and look cool. Item on VC to smash heroes. Any thoughts very welcome.
