TK necroplis knights would be WAY to big! They were on the 100mm long square bases How about the DoK melusai lower bodies? or if you are lucky and can snag the old Slaanesh lord on demonic mount on ebay! I feel like you must have considerer the slaanesh seeker models as well, right? They are a bit more snake/bestial hybrid but still might work depending on what your using them for.

You and i have the same mind i thought exactly of this kit but the more ant eatery head rather than arrow head is what id have to fund a way to change. Im going to convert some splintered fang into a Small DoK army and am wanting to go a bit extra and bougie on some doomfires.

To clarify - he wasn't specifically talking about warscrolls here but more helping out weaker units with some of the rules in the book. He was intentionally being vague but my impression was that there might be allegiance abilities which could buff cavalry amongst other things.

I did find it interesting that he specifically mentioned cavalry as not being very good in the game in general. It suggests the rules writers are aware of the weaknesses and are looking for opportunities to address them, although maybe with imposed limits (my speculation here) such as in certain factions.

they do always seem to be aware of this stuff. A few years ago there was no point to taking monsters besides maybe gordrakk because they were all potatoes. But now we have some really strong monsters on the table. Some go too far like ghoul king on TG but they did work to fix that.

I've just put this in the rumour thread but it is also relevent here...

At the Open Day I got chance to speak to Sam Pearson (rules writer) about the Cities book. He obviously wouldn't say much but was very enthusiastic about it - I got the impression it was something of a passion project for him (this was backed up by lots of other GW staff encouraging me to speak to Sam whenever I mentioned that I was interested in the Cities book).

He said that he'd reviewed all the relevent warscrolls and had had to do a fair bit of tidying up with some of them to make them more realistic. The example he gave was of a model which carried 2 weapons but warscroll had them using 3 in the same phase/turn. He also said that he had written rules to improve some of the weaknesses of AoS - his example was that cavalry currently "hit like a wet fish" and he'd tried to address that.

This makes me absolutely excited strong hitting cavalry? Break out the old brettonians and call em reiksgaurd lets go

You're basing your dwarf warriors arguments on them being a single faction with a handful of kits. Now they're part of a very large book, I think it's very likely they could get axed (lol sorry) because there are going to be so many battleline options.
Keep in mind this book is not likely going to be "run a disposessed army, or run a wanderers army", it's about running a city, and every city has multiple races/factions. Of course you can run a all dispoessed army, but don't expect them to build the rules around that.
With 2 better looking melee disposessed infantry, dwarves would definitely be on my list of things to cut.

I think it's also important to consider that it's not like they are doing this to be mean or ****** people off, they simply can't support the entire range with their production capabilities right now. Every box of dwarf warriors they make is probably multiple boxes of a brand new kit they aren't making (sprue placement is much more efficient now). I think this explains why so many old kits went up in price also, and of course why these releases, like most releases this year, are chinese produced releases only.   This battletome will cause demand to spike for all of this stuff, and they can't make it all (look what happened when the skaven tome came out, half the stuff was out of stock for a long time).

Look for the oldest, ugliest, plastic kits to go, but who knows how many

I dont really agree with this at all. I think we should look at the skaven book and that makes me more hopeful. They made it so each faction plays different. Eshin heroes do this, skyre heroes do this, pestillins are similar to neither of those.

and they have a big model range too. I think its ok if we have a huge model range they can handle it like khorne. Khorne has like 50 battleline options. Sure in competitive theres clearly better options, but doesnt defeat the point.

I think this book will be learning the lessons from those two books and creating a really cool book with a lot of options creating real identities. As for kits leaving saying like the dwarf warriors are canned is just pessimistic. Look at gutter runners they still got new rules.

I've been considering exchanging the Concussors and a spell for 3 3-man units of Prosecutors, but then you move up to 8 drops which is a major disadvantage

What about just a 9 man unit of prosecutors. Takes up more spade than concussors still 1 drop and still durable against 3+ 4+ - chaff units

dont get too hung up on the special weapons of prosecutors once you accept they suck at damage you’ll start finding way more useful ways to use them. I typically run mine most turns as it gives them mobility that the army really lacks. I also only use them in mixed order/ko lists so it might be different

think of em like light cavalry or gyro copters from old warhammer fantasy battles. Theyre really mobile chaff. Throw em anywhere you want to break a charge. It works exceptionally well in this army as the spells get a whole extra turn to wail on em.

    @Battlefury

You make perfect points. Because the reality is: GW games aren't a subscription service. They're not MMO/MOBAs etcs. For them to make a buck, we need to buy more products. They don't want me to be successful with models I've had for 4 years plus. And I get that. They want me to buy more ******.

I had close to 5000 pts of BoK models prior to the book, and I wager most Khorne players were in a similar boat. We simply aren't their target consumer.

I'd love to know how many new BoK players they attracted with the new book.

Im one of them. I play mostly dwarf factions. Havent played the new fyreslayers, but this army as compared to ko dispossesed and disspo heavy mixed order. This is so diverse. Just one game messin around with gore pilgrims and all the prayers i noticed how much  becomes available late game for khorne.  I was doing all kinds of funky movement shenanigans with blood tithe to sling shot fuckers onto objectives it was great.

The thing i noticed too looking at the recent pro lists im curious why the negative comments about the book. I saw a comment saying they needed 3 blood thirsters to compete. The past 5 high ranking khorne lists i saw had 1 possibly 2 blood thirsters i didnt see any courts. The courts i saw were mostly mid range in the tournament almost like a weaker fec gristlegore. The better lists are all over the place. I have mortals models i found one list that won with gorepilgrims but a list i saw on a top table had a Demon prince with a sword of japan as the general and a 6 man unit of blood crushers (or whatever the demon version is called).

so as a new player to khorne im in I see an ocean of potential with this book. Im curious what you guys see

Out of curiosity what are you offering price wise? I'd also love to see the miners in particular since I don't have any, though the whole collection sounds appealing

Im looking for about 750 for the whole thing. Let me get you some pictures ill have em up tonight. And depending how far you are some help on the shipping cost. It shouldnt be too bad its not a heavy box just a big box.

I might be interessed by some of your dawi : Ironbreakers, Hammerers, Miners, Irondrakes...

When you write "built", does it mean coated or painted ? Or still plastic grey ?

Could you bring some photos ?

And last question : Where are you from ? Do you send to France ?

    Thanks !

I really want to sell it as a whole collection so i dont have some still sitting around.

I was copy pasting my collection inventory so it probably didnt make as much sense. The built ones are mostly painted. All the warriors are at least primed. Few arent. The miners are mostly unpainted. The iron drakes are un painted and the non metal hammerers are painted. The 10 long beards are un painted. The painting would be easy to cover up. None are too far gone.

absolutely id ship to france but i am from ohio. I would just need help with the shipping cost. The only country id be worried about is england because i dont really want it to get stuck in customs. If someone more familiar than me knows its all good id do it.

Once i get off work ill start photographing

  9. Un built

    4 thunderers

    1 thane

    1 slayer lord

    20 ironbreakers

    3 various command

    1 cannon crew

    41~ quarrelers plus bits

    Balista

    Warden king

    Built

    30 irondrakes

    190 warriors

    13 quarrelers

    47 thunderers

    53 hammerers

    27 miners

    4+ cannon

    1 bolt thrower

    2 organ guns

    1 hellstorm rocket battery

    Runelord

    Runelord

    4 thanes

    2 slayer lords

    10 longbeards

i also have 30 vulkites with pick and shield and 3 magmadroths i dont need. Id add them for 150 because the droths are unbuilt.

most minis are plastic. About 20 hammerers and 20 ironbreakers and 1 runelord are metal. The rest is plastic. About 40 of the warriors are skull pass but the rest are the kits. 80 are currently on circle bases so are the irondrakes the long beards and a runelord.

im looking for about 750 or a khorne tzeench or skaven force

Don't discount the 30" range on the Longstrikes.  There will be times where your Hurricanes can't shoot because they aren't in range.  Or they aren't in range of the target that you really need dealt with.

Additionally, if you're 18" from the enemy, they're only 18" from you.  30" range is much safer.  Especially when you're paying that many points for so few wounds.

I'm not saying one is better than the other.  But it's real easy to get lost in the numbers without properly considering how it plays on the table..

    Thats a really good point.

would you still run the list like that with the 20 sequitors or is there a different kind of list people run?

  11. Whats a recent shoot cast list then? Is there a more specialized list for the fec and hero based slaanesh running around is there a more general take?

I havent played this list yet ive been playing evocator gavriel when i do play sc but i do more of KO.

I like 20 sequitor blobs also its what i have painted but

    Lord arcanum general

    lord ordinator

    knight azyros

    lord castellant

    5 lib

    5 lib

    20 sequitor

    9x raptors with hurricane

    4x ballista

    10 skinks.

Now i was doing the math to a 4+ armor save on average longstrikes outdamage the hurricanes unless they stand still then its about even. But with their price point difference we lose a hero and the skinks.

    so another list

    lord arcanum

    knight azyr

    lord ord

    5 lib

    5 lib

    20 sequitor

    4x ballista

    9 longstrikes

it has less bodies but in modes like places of (arcane) power you just snipe heros and win. I like the first list better because of 4 heroes when you roll missions like that. But you can take out a ballista for another hero.

tell me if im way off and should swap some units like the sequitor blob for liberators or another 9 longstrikes. Id prefer to use the ballista and sequitors only because i have them

Also for those whove played the list is the lord ordinator a bait? Should i not rely on it?

happy to answer any questions :)

What was your list and how did you run it? How did it handle fec dok and shootcast?

Hey so is the Gunhauler a complete waste of my time? I want it in my Fyreslayers army because I like the model and it is fluffy and would match my skywardens but I'm worried literally any Fyreslayers unit would be a better call.

I mean. Theyre faster than a ironweld arsenal cannon without the range or the two shots. Theyre not great... right now... Id hold out. Ive been assembling mine and putting them ready to get painted. I have hope. The way these new books have gone big boys have gotten stronger. They really are monster focused. Everyones getting a new book who at least has a battle tome currently. And they'll have it within the next year which means we're getting a book soon tm. The ships are pretty dope looking models just mostly utility game wise. So in order to sell more dope looking models hopefully they make em pretty good and hopefully theres a possibility at a K.O. air force army being a real thing.

short answer, right now, not at all its a waste of 160 points unless you think it looks cool.

The Spellweaver will have very little use. Its spell only work on Wanderers. You could replace it with an Archmage on Horse, his bubble stack with the Phoenix for more save shenenigans.

Also, i would go for 2 Phoenix, so you can make full use of the armor stacking.

I dont agree with the spell weaver. The dispel scroll is really strong and cheaper than the stormcast one. Also with realm spells he has 8 spells to cast a turn. We can find something useful for him. The archmage is really good but in my games with him i find the shield to be nice but lacking.

With the new fyreslayer book I see potential in auric hearthguard and a runesmither. The hearthguard monster debuff seems fitting in the current fec/khorne monster environment.

I put it in the fyrseslayer chat but vulkites have an in built +1 (against melee) save. Take a battle smith its +2
