Not sure but I have heard that 40k will be getting a worldeaters release at the end of the year and there will be some plastic flesh hounds coming

Yay,  I’ve just finished building and painting the old ones. I used them in an AoS game yesterday and they did well. I will wait for the plastic to get some more though

  2. Hey Bloodwarriors,

I am currently writing my list for Throne of Skulls tomorrow.

I was just reading through our battalions to see if I could get a command point but the only three I have the models for are Gore Pilgrims, Dark Feast & Blood Hunt.

I know Gore Pilgrims is the only good one, but I don’t want to be too gamey this is supposed to be a more casual event. I think I will just stay 50 points under for the Command Point. Would that also get me a triumph?

ps. It’s so hard to build and army with the models I like without running out of hero slots ?

Quick question to the agents of slaughter over here.

What is the deal with Bloodcrushers?  I was considering making a small Khorne Demon force because I am a long standing Nighthaunt player, and though I love all the new models and stuff I am not a fan of constant mirror matching.  A second army until all the Nighthaunt hype dies down and people go back to their original factions would do well, and demons are good because I can double duty them into Warhammer 40k.

I always liked the bloodletters mounted on the crushers, but when I looked at the rules for them they seemed... bad.

Is playing Khorne with only demon units viable in AoS?  I was thinking a cheap 1k points army would be:

    Skarbrand

x3 Units of Fleshhounds (because spells suck)

    x2 units of Bloodcrushers

With units of Bloodletters on the side for summoning of course.  I figured the Bloodcrushers could help Skarbrand do some heavy fighting, but they have 1 attack each and mortal wounds on the charge.  Doesn't seem like they will do much unless there is something in the Battletome I do not know.

Nope they just suck. I use them in a squad of 6 to try and do slightly more damage on the charge.

Their best trait is they look cool and if you play against someone new they might think they are dangerous and waste their focus on them.

It occurs to me that a lot of armies now seem to need unmodified 6s for exploding effects on their warscrolls, but we have been left alone (6+). Same with our "units within" bubbles, as opposed to "units wholly within" that everyone is getting hit with...

I think this is a result of them putting 0 time or thought into Khorne in AoS 2.

When they get round it they will change for us too.

  5. Just watched the 12 episode of Stormcast, I think I confirmed the afterthought theory several of us have been discussing.

When the play tester what would be good for Khorne, he couldn’t think of anything and then said the basic command ability to reroll charges . . .

Martin also said Khorne would do really well by using 70 point Reaver units with the axe. I think he is getting mixed up Reavers don’t get Goreglaves

Here is some more info on the Endless Spells.  Endless spell costs will range from 20 to 100 points, with a handful (3) of the endless spells clocking in at 20 points and Purple Sun being the only spell to clock in at 100 points.  The new Balewind Vortex comes in at 40 points.

That sounds like a good range, but I really hope the Balewind is not accurate. If there was one warscroll that did not need a reduction in AoS 1 it’s the Balewind

Not sure if it counts as a rumour... but rejoice! GW updated skirmish  the first update I experienced in a digital book of theirs!  Very exciting in my opinion because it means they might just keep updating the product :)

That’s great, I may have to switch to digital purchases if this becomes a trend. Even though I love having the books on the shelf.

Things in the battletome will be changed online and with ghb/ main rules. You won’t buy a new BoK tome..... yet....

But by the end of the year ?

With a Korgorath available for sale? Or a squad of Korgorath in new poses?

yet from the teasers so far it seems they are adding more stuff to it (e.g. command point stuff). probably just creating a new magic phase on top of a command phase or something.

I’m hoping that it costs command points to take Hero Phase actions like using all the regenerate stuff, and mortal wound spam so it forces tactical choices for the newer powered up Battletomes.

Although I am probably just dreaming ?

They said they assessed ways to speed up the game and have been successful, so I wonder what they concluded? I play a large horde army right now and it can take ages to play when there is tons of scenery (and it seems they want MORE scenery not less), so they must have figured out a way to drastically speed up piling-in or got rid of the need for it. That and setup take ages. Maybe setup is now fast somehow... I dunno. Can't see the  scenery issue being solved so it must be pile-in or setup thats faster now.

I hope by speed up they mean limit the number of things that can be done in the Hero phase, because that phase takes an age when playing vs. Death, Nurgle or Tzeench
