  1. I started watching some Slambo coverage last night but stopped when I realised it was the old book. Couldn't tell you if it was this list though. Not the best, truth be told. We're more of an attrition force. Fleeing models helps so much as well though. I'd imagine there's more offensive output in Scarlet Doom but I only tried it the once, got trounced, and haven't really looked at it again properly since. I've never really been a super aggressive player and I feel that that's what Scarlet Doom favours. Auto wounds on 6s is a nice treat but it's never been game-changing for me yet. It always gives a nice warm sensation inside when it happens though. As soon as I get a strikes-last I take it... unless it's something like 1 unit vs 1. Once I get it, great - any others I get I'll then modify. Speaking of list building, does anyone else currently suffer from analysis paralysis with our new book? I feel there's so many different ways to build now that I'm beginning to struggle with what list I actually like.
  2. I never really look at him too much as I don't own the model but he's highly regarded and his teleporting ability is nuts good. I'm sure he'd slot nicely into a lot of lists
  3. You need to make the bravery check no matter what.
  4. The Honest Wargamer does some vids on it on YouTube. A very quick and simple way to get models on the table.
  5. Painting, no doubt. I find it ridiculously time consuming and it's probably my least enjoyable aspect of the hobby. Recently discovered slapchop though and it's a revelation. Doubt I'll ever go back to any other method.
  6. I will say that shooting is scary but Shademist does offer a solid debuff... not to MWs on 6s mind.
  7. If it helps, I've ran them in 2 games now and not once have they been targeted. They never really seem to be a priority target.
  8. Played DoK last night. Beefed up Sisters of Slaughter hit like a sledgehammer now. I had 2 GG left from a block of 20 with Shademist and Seal of on them. Brought 14 of them back and went back into the fight, wiping the Sisters out. I'm pretty happy with 20.
  9. You got it. He benefits from neither.
  10. Packed up the below for my game tonight. No idea who I'm fighting. Forget who posted it above but wanted to see how it does - teleporting mayhem, I imagine. Also want to just run my black coach as finished painting it last night. - Army Faction: Nighthaunt - Subfaction: The Scarlet Doom - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumph: Bloodthirsty LEADERS Lady Olynder (340)* - Spells: Spectral Tether Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed (155)* - General - Command Traits: Spiteful Spirit - Artefacts of Power: Pendant of the Fell Wind Dreadblade Harrow (145)* BATTLELINE Bladegheist Revenants (350)* Bladegheist Revenants (350)* Hexwraiths (160)* Hexwraiths (160)* BEHEMOTH Black Coach (335)* - Reaper Scythe CORE BATTALIONS - *Battle Regiment TOTAL POINTS: 1995/2000
  11. Hope you're right. That would make sense.
  12. Just a shame we can't then charge! I've actually toyed with the idea of just whacking a blob of 15 Hex 3" from their faces first turn, loaded up with Shademist and Seal of Shyish. That'll be hard to shift and will cause real panic with their home objective. Lot of points though...
  13. Think what made me miss it was the word advance on the scroll. In 40k advance means run. 30"... that's basically teleporting.
  14. Definitely, although they weren't too keen on the Black Coach. One thing they did convince me of, if I'm running a KoSoES, I'm definitely gonna give him Spiteful Spirit. Never really paid attention to it previously. Probably throw Pendant on him as well.
  15. Just finished watching this last night. Love Vincey V. As someone said above as well, Tom's one of the best NH players around. Was really interesting to see their thoughts and left me pondering Herohammer.
  16. And we're back. Hate it when this place goes AWOL.
  17. I'm starting to think heroes are a great way to fish for WoT. They've a small presence and I've found that our units, being big, don't leave much space around an enemy unit. A hammer unit supported by 1-2 heroes could work well, especially considering how durable our heroes now are. Anywho, my list below for tomorrow night, which will most likely be against LotFP. - Army Faction: Nighthaunt - Subfaction: The Emerald Host - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumph: Bloodthirsty LEADERS Lord Executioner (140)* - Artefacts of Power: Arcane Tome - Spells: Flaming Weapon Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed (155)* - General - Command Traits: Hatred of the Living - Artefacts of Power: Pendant of the Fell Wind Dreadblade Harrow (145)* Lady Olynder (340)*** - Spells: Shademist BATTLELINE Spirit Hosts (125)* Spirit Hosts (125)* Grimghast Reapers (320)** Grimghast Reapers (320)** Chainrasps (110)*** Chainrasps (110)*** Chainrasps (110)*** CORE BATTALIONS - *Warlord - **Hunters of the Heartlands - ***Battle Regiment TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000 The Grimghast are the hammers, with a screen each of Chainrasps. The KoSoES will go with one, the Dreadblade with the other, replicating the CA from the former. Lady O will offer support from midtable. The other Chainrasps are hunting objectives. First time running Lord Executioner and really curious to see how he does. Gonna deepstrike him in with the Spirit Hosts and just gun for the most desirable unit I can.
  18. You know, I really don't get the app. So it's basically got everything you need on it to run NH... now... even before the book's released. Edit: Scratch that. The rules are locked. You can add things like artefacts but without the book you've no idea what they do.
  19. I've pretty much just settled on Bladegheists for Scarlet Doom and Grimghast for Emerald Host. Still working out which of those 2 subfactions I prefer.
  20. Love the list. Think I'll try it. If you really want the KoSoES, maybe: Lady O – 340 KoSoES – 155 Dreadblade – 145 Bladegheists x20 – 350 Bladegheists x20 – 350 Hex – 160 Hex – 160 Black Coach – 335 1995
  21. You've only just made me realise it's in the combat phase and not yours. That's mint.
  22. You must be on the other side if the pond mate. Just went for the book myself. Times are tough in Blighty.

  24. You're a toe rag 😅 Really interested to see how he does. Just curious, how do you guys hide content? Is it an option when using a PC/laptop? I normally only get to browse on my phone. TGA's banned on the work computers...
