  1. Hey guys, I have recently been gifted with one of the army painter mega paint sets, the 50 paint one. So, it all looks cool, and the idea of dropper bottles sounds interesting, but I'm not sure how to start. Is there anything I should know first? How do they compare to the GW paints that I usually would use.

    Thanks for any helps! :)

  2. Just a small bit done since my last post, a beastlord! I like this guy in a kind of understated way, he's not big or too stand out but he's still pretty cool.

    EDIT: Pictures not great :(

  3. So I had such good intentions with lockdown for painting, but I felt unmotivated after a while being unable to actually hang out with other hobbyists, but last week I decided to add to my favourite force and bought some beastmen to get me excited again!

I got these built over the weekend and the pig and Kazrak sprayed. First thing to do is try get the pig done.

  4. So, a huge thanks guys, this was a more indepth response then I expected :)

@Alladinthepaladin That storm host does sound like a good idea, with the new command abilities having the command points could be really useful. Losing the formation seems like it may be the way to go, and adding in a Knight Heraldor could be something. Looking at its abilities it gets to do what my beastmen shaman does, just without having to cast it!

@readercolin Its a really helpful reply there. The shooting army you use seems pretty cool, and I may try go that way later, but for now I'll keep on track with this lot! Again, I think you're right about the formation, it doesnt fit what I have to be worth the points. Also, making the kittens into one unit seems like a better idea, more buffable, I just always worry with large base models that I wont be getting enough models in range to fight.

I guess now its just a matter of getting things built and on the table to give some of these things an old realy life try!

  5. Thanks guys!

Regarding splitting one unit into two Sequitors, it is kind of embarrassing I didn't click it before. As for making a ten man evocators unit I will try that for sure once I get some games in(And all the models built too). The mortal wound output for a ten man squad is pretty awesome and something my beastmen did not do well at all.

For Staunch defender I'd have to have my general with the Sequitors and Evocators, not the dracolion cavalry, wouldn't that were he would rather be?

Finally, if I dump the formation, that leaves me with 160 points.  Just by models I have, I could dump a ballista in there, or six castigators or... something else?

  6. Hi! I'm a long time beasts of chaos army and was looking to start something totally new this year and figured I couldn't go to far wrong with stormcast, and with that Christmas box bought I think I'm ready to go. So far I have the following in mind, but I need to jig it to be legal battle line wise. Anyway, here is what I'm thinking so far.

    Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals

    Leaders
    Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline (220)
    Knight-Incantor (140)

    Battleline

    Units
    5 x Evocators (220)
    5 x Evocators (220)
    10 x Sequitors (260)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
    10 x Sequitors (260)
    - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields
    3 x Evocators on Dracolines (260)
    3 x Evocators on Dracolines (260)

    Battalions
    Cleansing Phalanx (120)

    Total: 1960 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 112

On top of this I have the contents of the soul war starter set and ten more liberators and a Lord Castelent. Any help is welcome, especially on storm hosts that would work best with what I've got! Thanks guys :)

  7. So with the new points changes I now have 100 extra points for my list. This has left me with a few thoughts. The first is to get a cockatrice, for 100 points they look really cool. However the problem with that is it makes me a three drop rather then two drop list. The second option is just buy a command point and leave 50 points for a triumph. The third option is to try put some endless spells in there as my list has two shamans to cast with.

    Any suggestions?

I'm sat with two boxes of BoC and IJ (do not say why not both) in my basket and as much as I like IJ, I think a skirmish heavy, harassing style of BoC would be right up my alley!

The question is does the Desolation Battalion work with Ungors and their terribly inaccurate pew pew? If so I can press that lovely buy button 😄

I generally run two units of 10 man ungor raiders to ambush turn one. This may just be because of how my local area goes but I have found them useful. Great against any kind of war machines, nice for picking off a weak support character or even just being a pain that needs to be dealt with, distracting a proper unit to go after them or threatening an objective.  Their shooting isn't bad either, like, 4's then 4's at 18" with 6's being two hits is pretty nice, the range I think is the big surprise with their shots.

  9. My slaves to darkness Christmas box has been looking so sad in the hobby drawer so I cracked it open to day and I am painting up a test warrior. Hopefully I'll have a pic of him up in a little bit.
