They are but to act like they received an update or new models because they were folded into a new, broader faction with a separate aesthetic would be a bit rich.

As is at least ogres received a new plastic tyrant.

Yes but new rules are not the same as a new model wave. We are getting an underworlds warband, which ogors have too, but no actual new stuff since their original fantasy release.

Ogors at least got a terrain piece and a new tyrant.

If gw split them off again i'd agree with you, but, as a tome / allegiance, they have received a wave right when aos started, whereas ogres only got the tyrant or terrain. If we started going off "seperate aesthetics" then cities of sigmar has about 5 or 6 factions that haven't gotten waves and Skaven the same, and Ogor mawtribes has 3 I think?

I think Ogors deserve a main game release but it is true that a warcry warband would be an interesting way to give players some new sculpts for converting BUT they are usually so extremely accented.

yeah, ogors are the only destruction faction to not receive a wave in AoS yet

*rubs hands together* alright: Goblins, Stormcast and Idoneth.

Goblins: Sky pirates and wolf riders are both inaccuare. The real goblin release are sky wolf riders - flying wolf pigeons dropping black mold bombs (affectionately known as "KemTrails") onto their enemies. Big centerpiece model is a ork-sized goblin riding a wolf dragon.

Stormcast: After the invasion of azyr and the reforging shenanigans, stormcast are desperate and start reforging anything they can. This leads to gryph-dreadnoughts (robotic entomed gryph hounds) and lightning-gheist-taurlons (creatures made of pure lightning ridden by the entrapped souls of stormcast who can't reforge), leading the charge to push back the greenskin horde.

Idoneth: How do i put this nicely....

Where were these big model previews we were supposed to get this week? The Slaanesh ones were the usual Monday preview, so was it really just the one Ork boy?

If you're new you'll come to learn that GW likes to stretch the meanings of words.

My husband’s take on it was that lots of stuff would get squatted.  I was just so excited because Seraphon was my first army, and I’ve had so much trouble with resin models.

they better not squat more of my weapon teams.

If I was forced to make a bet on it, I would say that Kragnos will be the leader of the destruction faction that is coming in the 3rd edition starter box which may be Hobgloblinesque.

Personally I hope they are a bit more exotic. I would love a new Kurnothi army or a silent people army.

The other big question is whether Broken Realms 4 is the last in the series. I really hope we get at least one more.

They'd really need to stuff Kragnos full of factions to make it the last one so I hope so

I have been hoping for some kind of drama between slaanesh and the great horned rat, who took slaaneshes place among the 4 while (s)he was locked up.

GW have been very quiet about this and GHR as a major player in general. I wonder if GW have just forgotten/scrapped the idea or if there is something to come of it in Broken realms/3rd ed.

I hope the GHR affects aos in a big way, skaven in general haven't been much beyond plot buttons since it started- and modelwise, they definitely need some help. Maybe they'll be the last book of BR?

This is the first time I can say I actually dont like a model. That face is damn ugly. Looks like shes giving me duck lips or blowing me a kiss.

The face is ironically probably in the top 10 for the sisters line

13 factions left if we count factions that are narrative without rules.

Keeping the rule of 5 factions w rules and 1 faction mentioned and then awarded a battletome afterwards,

    That would give us 12.

Given that i imagine the 13th faction will be the focus 'opponent' in 3.0 - likely Orruks,

It's definitely possible to get though those left in 2 books.

    Thirteenth faction, you say...

It could be Cavlary. I dunno why but I keep going back to Gloomspite. Perhaps it's a Grot mounted on some subterranean centipede creature.

Man's got his Destruction schtick, can't fault him for sticking to it!

I think it's Blood Knights, GW I think wants to phase out finecast/metal soonish, so since soulblight is getting a bunch of dudes it'd make sense

Isit tiltalt unthinkeable that Bonereaper Archers are released with the BR Teclis? Didn’t Psychic Awakening do something similar, support factions with a single unit or a hero and a few rulechanges?

I mean forgive me if Im wrong here but but unlike lots of other factions Bonereapers only need a bit of firespower to bring them up to the current meta right? Slap some nasty archers with BR Teclis, adjust some of the subfaction rules and call its day. No need for a second wave or new Battletome here.

Psychic awakening supported only single heroes, with the exception of drukhari, craftworld eldar, and admech.

I'd hope they'd bring up the rest of the OBR tome to fill the hole left by gutting petrifex, instead of band aid adding more stuff

    Mate,

I’ve been basically throwing out jokes through and through.

I have literally  no idea what gw is up too😉

obviously the next model to come out is malerion riding on a sky grot ship piloted by clan eshin so he can attack the silent ones

Might be a red herring, as they are hinting at that in a very obvious way. There was also a Malign  Portents' short story where we could see Malerion along his mother talking about stuff (sadly, it can't be read for free anymore). Even if Be'lakor was impersonating him (the most likely scenario if Malerion is really dead) would he be able to deceive his own mother, the thousands-old schemer Morathi?

Of course GW can explain that if they really want. It would be a really bold move to kill the old dark elf king, as Malekith is a fan-favorite....but potentially very interesting. And people would stop fearing the release of another aelf faction!

I think that fear will stick around for a while, similar to people expecting stormcast to get a bunch of models any second now

This is interesting! The next question is: which are the most interesting games in this list? (can't play 'em all 🤔 )

Easily vermintide 2, space marine, and total war warhammer.
Dawn of war is very old, better with the expansions.
