  1. I've been sold hard by lots of Grimwrath Berserkers, a buddy of mines running: Priest Leader Banner Banner 3x5 of the shooting dwarfs 11-12 Grimwraths Using Lofneir so they all run 6's turn 1, and run and charge near the general, and have a 3+save and 5++ in combat. They fight twice, are aggressive and punch way above their weight class. Its super cool and oddly hard to fight again. But its also super fun. I think it really captures the spirit of the old 'daemon/giant slayer' heros.
  2. Well boys, I'm taking my KO to an event in a weekend from now, going to give it its last run till we get another book. List feels alright, but wanted to share it. KO Urbaz- Chamon No Trading Brokk Kemist - General, Stickler for the code (the turn 1 battleshock into a 1 article), Ignax Scales Kemist - Thermalrider Cloak Knight Incantor 40 Arknaughts, Skyhooks 10 Arknaughts, Skyhooks 10 Arknaughts, Skyhooks 9 Endrinriggers 3 Drillcannons 5 Evocators Staffs Having the double buff makes the skyhook units better than switching to drill cannons, the thermal Kemist and Brokk are there to try to be able to get on objectives that heros or artifact weilding heros need to be on, and the Urbaz once per game trick has always been my favorite part of running 40 Arknaughts.
  3. I really liked all the TK models except for the old Skeletons/Chariots. The NecroSphinx/Blade arm guy, the Snakes/both mounted/not, the Ushapti with bows, and the TombGuard were all really cool models. I think half the reason Im so fond of them currently is playing them in Total War honestly.
  4. There's gonna be a 'Stormfort'. It's mentioned a halfdozen times in the Black Pyramid book with the proper noun capitalization GW likes to do with unit names. The ordinator/dwarves set them up all over a city they are trying to reclaim, I don't recall them having a great description of what they are just lots of mentions like 'Are the foundations strong enough for a Stormfort?' "They will be if you can keep the beastmen off us" That sorta thing.
  5. I just got myself a Turalon for love of the model and will be trying it out this weekend, I have a list that on paper I'm pretty darn happy with. Astral Templars Turalon Arcanum -Godbeast Plate -Dauntless Hunters -Azyrite Halo Spell (maybe a second damage one) -Steel Pinions Heraldor Castellant Ordinator 20 Sequitors 10 Sequitors 10 Sequitors 4x Ballista Gemnids 2k on the nose. With Astral, the foot half the army gets a 6 inch move at the start of the game, and then as they start to spread another 2 inches to their run roll with the command ability to have Sequitur move 6+5+2+d6 Inches (14-19 inches Turn 1 with the possibility of charging thanks to the Heraldor). And the +1 to hit ability of his helps the Ballistas more than any other unit in the book (with a potential hitting monsters on 2+ assuming flyover and in Ordinator range).
  6. Now I'm looking at the mount traits, the one that on a 5+ I reduce multi-damage things to one could be interesting for more resiliance, or 16 inches to his breath for more character sniping.
  7. I've been doing some thinking about this, and I think taking a list similar to StrormCrunches could be a really good matcup into the FEC/Skaven/Death (horde o infantry). Something like this: LCoDracoh -Smoldering Helm -Staunch -Lightning Hammer (Now that I'm thinking about it more. Preventing the pile only makes you hold up the combat more, which could be the whole point as hes a 'roadblock/horde stopper'... so im not sure this or the Tempestos). Castellant 2x Incantor -Halo+Somthing else Heraldor 5x Judicators 2x5x Libs 20x Sequitors 10x Evocators Comet + Gemnids 2k on the nose. So you drop the stardrake for the Dracoth+10 Evocators. You lose some of the table mortals/bite for similar wound bouncing (on paper losing FLY is what I'm dreading the most). But I could easily see in some of the new armies a stardrake without the 4+ moral saves is going to get ripped down quickly enough in any case, but the LCoD is an affordable unit that could really be a 1 round smash against a unit like witches/clanrats/ghouls, and then all the buffs go on the Sequitors or Evocators and they go in for round 2. Plus the extra dispel and pure offensive output of the 10 evocators outclasses the drake in a lot of ways. Its interesting. I'm thinking bout trying it this weekend (I cant get a list with 20 Judicators like an earlier talk of yours working in my head). I also really like the Stormbreath/Comet for hero sniping.
  8. Was on a page ago, diden't realize it was already posted.... Disregard
  9. 1: Dragon 2: LAoGC 3: Castallent 4: Castallents Dog 5: 5x Libs 6: 5x Judicators 6 and 6, built it to be just enough.
  10. Played a game this weekend with: Ignax Stardrake LAoGC Castallent Lord Ordinator 10 Libs 5 Libs 5 Judicators 4x Ballistas 1x everblaze comet Played against a really tough blight cyst with: GUO, 2x10 BKings, 2x5 BKings, 5++ Aura guy, and wizard, and the throwing heads hero and COGS. I was given the second turn as with all his movement stuff he had his whole army on the 24 inch line top of 1. The 10 libs +Ord + Ballistas drop outta the sky, the 10 libs form a line in staunch range with where the dragon ended up holding 10 blight kings (And eating the 3 command models). Ballistas took 13 wounds off the GUO (which he healed 7 back). Meteor and Dragonstarfall knocked most his heroes down 2-3 wounds each. I got the double, got all 3 of his heroes to 1 wounds, took off the GUO, and held the center with the line of libs (One protected a turn due to the LAoGC). The remaining 4 of the first 10 man retreat from the dragon, He charged the full strength 10 man into the lib wall keeping the dragon outta 3, but caught the LAoGC. I used my spirit flask and took out 2 blight kings of the 10 with a decent roll. (And knocked a few wounds off nearby ballistas). His one 5 man having been shot by Judicators and my one 5 man libs knocking it down to 3, still whoop on the Libs bringing them down to 1 model on the right objective, while my griff hound was getting in the way of the 5 man on my other flank (Just to make it hard for them to move around it to better targets). We rolled for T3 and I won as well, and it turned into cleanup, got rid of the heroes, focused the ballistas on the 7 blighking unit in the middle, and the dragon went and ate a 5 man. TLDNR: Ballistas are really spiky, some rolls they were amazing, and some all 4 missed or rolled 1's for number of shots. Libs dont put out anything like Sequitors as far as offence for a similar defence. I think my Judicators appreciated being build because they were killing a blight king a turn. The comet was not SUPER great against nurgle (as I was expecting having played the matchup before) however I can see some other armies where it just mauls units that dont have mortal wound saves. The dragon is so freaken strong It makes me think about not taking Gav Evocator bombs, nothing in the Gav list takes the whooping he can, never took more than 2 wounds the entire game without healing them back up. Eating models to split units, the raw 'holding power'/board position, and the 'poke' of the mortal wound starfall was crucial to what I thought was a pretty bad match-up. Well guys hope it was a good read, give another update as I play more games.
  11. Ill be breaking my KO out for a small event in a couple weeks till I can get my other army projects painting going (darn World of Warcraft being a time vampire). Wanted to share, as I feel its a decent list (Sylvaneth are gonna give me nightmares, but they did that with any KO list once they got LOS blocking woods). Bringing the Boys: Urbaz - No Trading with Some People Life Realm Kemist General - Stickler for the Code Aethersight Loupe Kemist Verdant Mantle Auric Runesmiter 40x Arkanaut Company 10x Arkanaut Company 10x Arkanaut Company 20x Vulkite Berzerkers 9x Endrinriggers - 3x Drillcannons 3xSkywardens - 1x Drillcannon, 1xVolly 3xSkywardens - 1x Drillcannon, 1xVolly 2k on the nose
  12. First of all this book is amazing. I've been having a lot of success so far in my practice games, going to an event this weekend with 2 similar lists. Wanted to get your guys thoughts on which to take, and the spell/artifacts to select. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Astreia Solbright (Not sure what spell) (This is the new thought. I lose the general trait. But her command ability is better than the Griff Charger and I feel better than the Dracoline wizard... But should I just be saving command points anyway for the 5+ bring sequitors back after turn 1) Knight Vexillor (Teleport Banner) (He gets the artifact Sword) Lord-Castellant Gavriel Sureheart 20xSeq 5xSeq 5xSeq 10 Evocators (Staffs) (Reroll Charge Spell) 3 Evocator Draconlines (+1 Wound Spell) 1880 (2 Command Points) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Astreia Solbright (Not sure what spell) Knight Vexillor (Teleport Banner) (He gets the artifact Sword) Lord-Castellant (He gets some other artifact I'm not sure what would be good yet.) Gavriel Sureheart 20xSeq 5xSeq 5xSeq 10 Evocators (Staffs) (Reroll Charge Spell) 5 Evocators (Staffs) (+1 Wound Spell) Cleansing Phalanx 1900 (3 Command Points) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hoping to get some input as I'm having a hard time between the two.
  13. What do you guys feel is the better option with Sequitors, the 3 attack 3s/3s/-/1 dmg hammers. Or 4 attack 3s/4s/-/1 dmg swords. Thinking if I should clip the maces off my boys or not.
  14. @Kyriakin You mean somthing like: Fungoid Cave Shaman 3x10 Savage Orruks 3x Magma Dragons 2k on the nose
  15. So I've been daydreaming about a next project for a while, and I keep looking at one of my favorite models that I've ever seen, the FW Magma Dragon: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-FI/Magma-Dragon Have any of you guys run one? What sort of army did you build around it? It seems rather pricy points wise, I believe 520, and Im not sure how it is in physical size compared to the cabbage, but there is somthing about the spikes and its low profile that calls to me.
