Another thing I notices (but maybe I am blind) is that the Evocator's ability seems to be missing.

Which one? I can review tonight.

/edit/ maybe "Empower"? It's a spell and I haven't added those (until there's support for spell lores/prayers) but perhaps spells on warscrolls should be treated as abilities and not as spells from spell lores?

A couple of things I've noticed so far:

    - The shield ability for the Stardrake is missing

    - Gavriel Surehearts command ability is showing the old wording (unit within 9", newest wording is unit wholly within 12")

    thanks for your hard work

Ordinator hit buff works in combat phase, also.  Them ballista knives get work done.

Changes made, will be committed soon I hope!

    The Stormhost artefacts are missing.

If you take a Stormhost (in traits dropdown), the artefact, command trait and extra abilities are automatically added.

Matches the other subfaction implementations (eg FEC) already added and is probably the best way until the site supports subfaction allegiances.

    Hey guys,

I'm very pleased to announce that we've added Stormcast Eternals to AoS Reminders

SCE were definitely a very highly requested army, and after seeing the amount of rules involved, I totally understand.

If you haven't used AoS Reminders before, it's an automated cheat-sheet for your army! Give it a whirl!

    +1

I added the SC so you can let me know if I missed FAQ entries or whatnot. There's so much SCE content to add that it would be easy for me to have got mixed up at least once :)

But why oh why would you tweak the perfection of 3 dragons? I've only 1 dragon to paint (though I'll have to fix my LCoSD so he can be magnetised as a Templar) and Im there.

Why are people pissed when you're not exactly playing with a top tier army anyway??

Quite a lot of flanking deployments are 6". And most objectives are 12" in. It's either deliberate to allow capping or to prohibit capping depending on your viewpoint on whether it's cheesy or not ... or its just yet another unexpected interaction from GW ;)

It 100% depends on an objective being totally unwatched too, mathematically (I believe, I'm terrible at maths) you can only ever get 1 model in this situation - the 1 perpendicular to the objective point (everything else is outside that magic 6" quantum area).

Question came up recently: Can we spend the command point in Anvil to activate the Raptors, then teleport, then shoot? Does the shooting have to happen immediately?

Its not start of hero phase, just

You can use this command ability in your hero phase

You have to teleport near an Anvils of the Heldenhammer hero (9")or general (18") though or you can't trigger it (which I had an opponent do once, phew!)

/edit - didn't notice the spend CP, teleport, activate CP hijinx here - nopes!

Spume and the kings must be within 6"  of the board edge. The objective must be 12" from the board edge. Do I control that objective? There is an FAQ that says you are within a point on the battlefield if you are EQUAL to or LESS then the specified distance. So the TO sided with me when I showed him this and awarded me the objective, I ended up winning the game because of this. Several people told me I shouldn't have won, and I was being a WAAC player. And I wasn't playing to the spirit of the game essentially.  My opponent (who is a close friend of mine) was really chill about the whole thing. It was everyone else around that were kind of being dicks. The 6" objective capturing bubble should mathematically touch one point on the base of the model that is at the apex of that bubble. Basically because both lines (spume and the objective bubble) meet at the same point, and the FAQ specifices EQUAL TO.. thoughts?

This exact topic caused a furore in the Swedish AoS FB group :) I'm with letting TOs rule in each case or agree with my opponent beforehand. IE I don't plan to take objectives that way as a suprise to my opponent.  If it comes up, I have no strong opinion but if my opponent was trying to suprise me Id let TOs rule and not get involved too much!

It's basically too long and complicated to go into with an opponent

  9. I think it's a mistake to try to use real world references to get a feel for what Tithe of Bones is. The music has an Asian steppes feel yes; there's potentially throat singing or synthesized throat singing yes; the architecture could be considered Khmer in style yes; there's a "northern lights" feel to what's over the building yes - but because true originality is almost non-existent, all these relationships you guys are just spotting are just the brainstorming seeds that lead the studio to develop whatever is coming.

So I think you're all mostly right but in the end it doesn't matter too much. I mean, it WILL be like something ppl are guessing but it's not a code with 1 right answer to be cracked.

The only thing I know is that I like the feel I get which is a good sign - it should be something new as it is different from all death (if it IS death) so far (death is trite and boring in AoS and needs new blood like steppe style mounted vampire archers).

  10. I have to add my vote to those who believe this thread (oh so far from rumours now) should be very light on therapy for ppl who are waiting oh so patiently for new toys but more about:

-Hilarious wishlist fulfilment based on the word "bone"

-Pie in the sky new faction guesses based on silhouettes

-Salacious fabrication from nothingburgers (thank you, you forgotten two who steered the convo this way many pages back - I'm catching up after some hiking)

-If and only if none of the above can be posted, actual rumours.

People, this thread is one of the most entertaining urls on the net because it is like asking a group of 4 year olds to guess who will win the eurovision song contest.

It's gold! Rejoice! But don't be too sad or it spoils the atmosphere

I like that, Gutrot and BKs are only one additional drop too. The only thing I would miss is a Spellportal, it's very handy for tickling an enemy unit with Favoured Poxes or Glorious Afflictions first turn. But that BK unit is 40 wounds, would really give your opponent something to chew on

    You could do this:

    Allegiance: Nurgle

    Leaders
    Great Unclean One (340)
    - General
    Lord of Blights (140)
    Poxbringer Herald of Nurgle (120)
    Gutrot Spume (140)

    Battleline
    30 x Plaguebearers (320)
    10 x Plaguebearers (120)
    10 x Plaguebearers (120)
    10 x Plaguebearers (120)
    5 x Putrid Blightkings (160)

    Units
    1 x Beasts of Nurgle (80)

    Battalions
    Tallyband of Nurgle (220)

    Endless Spells / Terrain
    Umbral Spellportal (70)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 2
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 122

Which is interesting (Beasts in general actually given your plan with this - a slobbery interference) but demotes the blightkings to a nuisance more than any kind of threat.

I think they have a place in the current meta, if not to just completely mess up the 5-0 aspirations of FEC and similar metas. There's something beautiful about the image of a Terrorgheist crashing into 30 Plaguebearers and flapping harmlessly at them for 5 turns

I quite like some BKs with gutrot to mess with enemy deployments, get a few bonus contagion points early and generally be tough or threatening (if there's no -1 to hit facing you). Monks are probably stronger but what about:

    Allegiance: Nurgle

    Leaders
    Great Unclean One (340)
    - General
    Lord of Blights (140)
    Poxbringer Herald of Nurgle (120)
    Gutrot Spume (140)

    Battleline
    30 x Plaguebearers (320)
    10 x Plaguebearers (120)
    10 x Plaguebearers (120)
    10 x Plaguebearers (120)
    10 x Putrid Blightkings (320)

    Battalions
    Tallyband of Nurgle (220)

    Total: 1960 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 135

Throw in a malevalent maelstrom or some other cheap endless spell

Aye, but he'd merely be replacing the Monks, so it stays at 3 drop which I find is usually enough. I have resolved to make this a 4-1 army, I really think it's possible. I just love the playstyle of Nurgle, tough as boots, hit like a gentle breeze. You have to play the game completely differently with them

If you get in the groove it really is the pacifists choice of army, the huge soft-in-the-head kid in the playground who cant really be bullied and never retaliates.

    Like Hodor maybe.

I think if you are running Desolators + Drakesworn you want to take advantage of the +1 to cast, so bringing along some more wizards and some endless spells would be a good idea.

Longstrikes are really only worth using with Anvils stormhost and only in squads of 9+. You are better off spending 330 on Ballistas instead (and cutting the Aetherwings) especially if you are playing Astral Templars.

6x Desolator + 9x Longstrike in an Anvils list is a great combo, but it's expensive and you need different support heroes (like a Castellant) so you don't have any room left for a Drakesworn.

Thanks for the feedback! I get where you are coming from in terms of pure optimisation, but I'm always trying to find comfortable spaces between the most optimised choices where you still get good results but aren't just using your anvilstrike list or our other decent cookie cutter lists.

That's my jam when I mess with stormcast really, look at the 6000 pts or so that I have and build something different, fun, threatening and capable of podiums in small-mid tourneys once I know how to pilot them (but not winning v allcomers). So I always take the standard advice on these boards - "Take [x] where [x] totally changes what you're trying to present and/or is just the posters own favourite meta list" - with a pinch of salt. I like finding out for myself what absolutely doesn't work - to a certain extent.

One thing I want is to get the aetherwings running interference (as they do so well) and try that instead of the skink screens I liked using. To do so you need the raptors. What could be done is just take 3 - but smart opponents then know its just 6 wounds away from much less useful screens.

Another alternative is to take 6 x hurricanes. You can then drop the caster ally and take the Incantor for guaranteed unbind. Or you can add in an endless spell or two.

I'll admit I have only 1 unbuilt ballista and just haven't ever been motivated to build/acquire/paint more. Artillery bug hasn't bitten me yet.

Having played drake lists a lot and used a lot of different casters, Arcane Lineage is not the best thing about the dragon - though unbind* boosting is very nice.

Finally, your mention of support heroes puts me back on track with my other, sillier lists.  I want to risk more with 0 support heroes, inefficient though that will be! It opens up so many more unique (though inferior) lists.

*Now I think of it, the priest doesn't get the unbind boost as it's WIZARD keyworded (if I remember right). Hmm.

  15. I made another list rundown and I kinda like the idea behind it. Critique it so I know what to change before my next tournament: https://thehonestwargamer.com/aos-list-rundowns/choose-your-own-stormhost-adventure-desolators-edition/

    The list is:

    Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals

    - Stormhost: Astral Templars or Celestial Vindicators or Anvils of the Heldenhammer

    Leaders

    Drakesworn Templar (460)

    - General
    - Storm Lance
    - Trait: Dauntless Hunters
    - Artefact: Godbeast Plate
    - Mount Trait: Lithe-limbed

    Lord-Castellant (120)

Skink Starpriest (80) OR Excelsior Warpriest (80)

    - Allies

    Battleline

    5 x Liberators (100)
    - Warhammer & Shield
    - 1x Grandhammers

    5 x Liberators (100)
    - Warhammer & Shield
    - 1x Grandhammers

    5 x Liberators (100)
    - Warhammer & Shield
    - 1x Grandhammers

    Units

    6 x Desolators (600)
    6 x Vanguard-Raptors with Longstrike Crossbows (340)
    3 x Aetherwings (50)
    3 x Aetherwings (50)

    Total: 2000 / 2000

    Extra Command Points: 0

    Allies: 80 / 400

    Wounds: 109 (OR 110)

Given the design of the crowns, this is clearly an AoS one. I'm thinking Slaves to Darkness/Everchosen due to the specific theme of noble heads being taken, as well as the hook aesthetic fitting Chaos more than say... Soulblight. Ogres are a possibility, but I don't think they'd be picky on who they take and 'save' heads from, noble or peasant.

I see only 2 possibilities suitable for this "complete wild guess" thread:

    1) The head on the right looks to have a gemstone which set beside the long flowing beard of the hair on the left is reminiscent of the flowing mane of a horse with a gemstone bridle - High Elves rework?

    2) This is a tomb kings model, 2 kings who are mates who carry their heads around with them on one keyring.
