  1. I agree with the unwieldy part of this, I think the main point (for me) of a unit of 30 is the points reduction and ability to be extra sure you aren't getting wiped before using the Soulrender outside of a very determined effort.
  2. Welcome! I think you need eels for sure, even if you decided later to focus on Thralls/Reavers having at least two boxes of eels to make a Morsarr unit will get use. If you focus on eels with the army I would vote for another Akhelian King. Make one normal and the other Volturnos.
  3. This is a pretty good post, I just have a few counterpoints. For starters, I only own/have used the AoSea, I just think it’s much better. The combo of spell ability and decent combat ability is very good. I usually debate whether it’s a good idea to use this guy vs two spellcasters and a morsarr unit, it isn’t a clear choice either way. I think the AoStorm is a bit better than given credit for. It is very reliable rending (which otherwise we don’t have). Can totally crush 6 wound heroes and can get to them quickly with speed and flight. I wouldn’t necessarily send him in to fight a 40 skeleton block, but it can do work if you think about positioning. -edited random words caught by swear filter.
  4. How was the Soulscryer? Mine has not done much of anything in game. I’m about to give up on the Royal Council battalion just because of his ineffectiveness.
  5. Yeah I’m not a fan of that at all. Edit- Unless there is language in the battletome about switching all chamber keywords if you pick a different chamber. That’s the only way it makes sense to me.
  6. The Order of the Fly in various novels, especially Plague Garden, is a really cool look at Nurgle worshippers who have a very rigid code of honor. They genuinely believe they are the good guys.
  7. This what I blame my inability to complete an army on. Black Library writers pulling me in different directions. “Oh man those Heldenhammer will be sweet, better change my paint scheme.” Two weeks later- “The steel soul is awesome! Must get my silver skills up to par!” ...”Wait a minute, The Sea Taketh was amazing.” Meanwhile the plastic keeps accumulating.
  8. I think you mean End Times, fun times, amirite? Also, the preview for your new book convinced me to take some Nuln Oil to a previously blue/white painted SCE force. Counts as Heldenhammer here we come.
  9. As much as some people may dislike this, did we expect anything different? They are getting a ton of new models. Also, it will be nice for SCE to get enclave/temple rules. Yes I know plenty of armies could use this treatment, but it still is cool for SCE.
  10. Yeah all of that seems likely to me. I don't mind the monopose I guess (though I would like a full unit), they weren't hard to change from the first box set. I also very much hope the full book is in the box set. They did it with Dark Imperium, so it can be done!
  11. I’m confused. The stuff in the pic is exactly what has been in the previews.
  12. I think you just summed up 98 percent of all rumors haha.
  13. http://natfka.blogspot.com/2018/05/the-contents-of-2nd-edition-starter.html If the picture is true some weird sized units but maybe that pic is not accurate since it is just from the previews on community website. Rumor about content of new starter box. Personally I am hoping they give full size units so you aren’t stuck with three retributors or the like.
  14. Two things. 1) You have a 100 percent accurate rumor source implying the rule is changing. 2) GW could easily errata the High Tide ability to trump charging units. I am not offering an opinion on what it would do to the game (I think I would need to test it). I’m just saying all signs point to a change coming and I think the Idoneth rule could be adapted quite easily.
  15. I thought that date had more to do with the new law regarding email communications.
  16. Those are from Duncan's converted Freeguild/Stormcast Army.
  17. Yeah this is totally right. I bought the last Realmgate War game book and was blown away by the quality of the background in it, I just wasn't willing to spend the money to get all the rest. I have high hopes that not only is that stuff included but expanded on in this new book.
  18. In David Guymer’s short story, The Sea Taketh, he describes a pretty awesome sounding “Spiderghast Grot” bodyguard that is stoned out of his mind on drugs.
  19. If I remember correctly this sort of small batch release schedule is exactly what people like Atia said would happen pre-End Times. I can't find it now, most of it was on Warseer I think, but I distinctly remember wondering how it would work out. I assume that means GW is releasing the basics for new factions and then seeing how they sell before determining which to support later.
  20. It looks to me like they either didn’t mean to reveal Raiders or it was a mistype. The article now just says Reavers everywhere as the next unit.
  21. White Dwarf is available online now. Not sure what the rules are for posting pics from the magazine? It does have a part where it says there may be a few more surprises coming for Idoneth Deepkin.
  22. I am beyond excited for another book by Nick Horth. Cannot wait. Also the Stormcast wizards look amazing.
  23. Oh ok then. I was tracking his connection (impossible to please father), but didn’t know where all the other chatter came from.
  24. I know we are all excited for the Deepkin (my wallet is ready), but can I hear some more about this?! Since I know you know what it is @LLV! Also, how did Teclis get into the discussion so much? There is no way he’s part of this release.
