  1. Grandhammer does on average 2.66666 before saves with a chance of them being mortals. And it has Rend -1. Twin Hammers do 2 damage before saves but with potential to do D3 extra mortals
  2. I agree, although the twin hammers version has higher peak damage.
  3. Yes it is. Also combined with some Sacrosanct for Soulstrike. What it's not though, is a hammer list - you need use it's maneuverability to play to objectives with it.
  4. Malign Sorcery -Weapons of Hysh You won't be saying that when she cuts your face off! It's the spare artefact from taking a battalion. The main one was Lens of Refraction pre nerf-bomb!
  5. I've been using a regular Knight-Zephyros with a Blade of Symmetry in a similar way. 1 less attack, but 20 points cheaper and 2 damage vs everything.
  6. Correct. It's one of the half baked things of the Hammers of Sigmar stormhost rules - they've got all these heroes, but if you use one as your general you miss out on the Hammers command trait.
  7. I'd be tempted to try and fit in a Castellant to buff your big Evocator blob, but that would probably cost you a ballista. Also, I've used the comet in a few games now, and if my opponent has a lot of support heroes close together its really good, but otherwise it doesn't actually seem that amazing - ooh I've killed 2 skinks, yaaaaaay!
  8. AFAIK It just lets them cast the spell without having to roll, there's no mention of them getting a second cast.
  9. Warrior Brotherhood and Skyborne Slayers are both still current also, despite not being it the Battletome.

Obvious problems - repositioning will be tricky, and it's a lot of eggs in a small amount of baskets. Now tell me how rubbish it is.
  11. How about... Add a Lord Castellant. Swap out 5 Protectors to make your Evocators 10 strong. Turn 1 tie up enemy army with deep striking slayers. Scions Evocators/Castellant in position (start Judicators on the board to allow this). Turn 2+Buff Evocators with Lantern, smash enemy with your Evocators. That's 1970 - add a cheap endless spell if desired?

  14. It's weird at the moment - if you follow the link from the AoS facebook page it takes you to the new errata, but if I just try and go from the community site it still takes me to the old page!
  15. Vs spells - Lens of Refraction like everybody else! Vs effects is tougher. Hammers of Sigmar Stormhost for 6++? Seriously, how have you collected Stormcast and not got a Castellant?! ?
  16. Liberators ARE Redeemers - up until the introduction of Sequitors, they were the only Redeemers!
  17. Evocators? 200 points on the nose, synergise well with your Lord Arcanum and Sequitors.
  18. Retributors big loss is the shift to unmodified 6's for blasted to ashes instead of 6+.
  19. You're right! So that makes it a bit less horrible as at least you can deploy against it! EDIT - I was going to suggest 2 vexillors but they've been changed to the Movement phase now. Maybe risk a Relictor with translocation?although you'd still need to keep them in range for the command ability. 2 more CP though!

On average that's 60 mortal wounds and 80 -2 rend 2 damage wounds. As you're using the shots in batches of 12, it should be pretty straightforward to shoot of any LoS granting chaff first before concentrating on bigger things. I know it has some counters, but it if you can't passively debuff the shooting, it'll be minus fun to play against!
