Thanks a lot!. It's just Corax White with Agrax Earthshade (a bit dilluted) with the same Corax White as highlights, but works well. It's the first stormcast I paint, but being a unique hero I wanted to try to get the max out of my poor (yet) skills 😀

I will get both colours when I can get back in the store and redo my army. It’s that good!

going to hold on painting any more SC till then. Gloomspite here I come!

Early progress on my own greywater fastness. Was anyone having much success with heavy artillery/copter builds?

I have 1 steam tank to convert to look fanatical. And the canon doesn’t fit but if you have an order army, you can have a war alter/warrior priests included. I have 60 flagellants to sacrifice in the theme of fanatical. I had a Disciples of Sigmar army in wfb, converted to AoS early on and now have a fanatical grey water Fastness army with powder back up. Love it but thankfully I don’t kit out for competition otherwise I would be eaten alive lol

  3.  Making progress with my antagonistic Gloomspite. Assembled and based my Loonboss on a giant squig, 5 bounders hit the ground in leaps and bounds, and I just replaced the square based on my ‘dwarf ‘ giant, 3 rockguts, 20 squigs for 2 herds, 10 hoppers -  all old metal models from the old night goblin army I have. I’m worn out for a bit so I’ll base them later.
working title is Krasbog’s Gitz  with a total of 2480 points. Not really looking forward to round basing my 40 shootas and 40 stabbas.
I need some more bases as it is.

@Artobans Ghost to get a dirty white, depends on how dirty and how white... check out the citadel paint up but I get to get a dirty-ish white:

rakarth flesh, karak stone, seraphim sepia, ushabti bone or even pallid witch flesh could work.

for a cold white: mechanicus grey, drakenhof night shade, mechanicus grey (avoiding recesses) administratum grey, celestra grey, ulthuan grey, maybe white scar to highlight if very thin and specific.

hope that helps a little. the other option is battle damage. Darren Latham's iron hands yellow shows a really neat technique for (relatively) easy battle damage that would break up that white and dirty it up if that is what you are after.

    @kaaras

thank you for the info. The effect I have is not the result I wanted so the paints will go on the wish list  (cold white sounds like what I’m after). I guess I’ll have to wait out the storm first as I have none of the colours required. 😺

I used a random number generator and a spreadsheet to choose what to paint. On the first day I did my Forlong miniature from the Lord of the Rings, on the second my gravesite markers for Legions of Nagash. Then the RNG chose my 80 Flagellants and that's been my life between my 1 year old and my job for the last 12 days. One day, and hopefully soon, I'll be removing hordes of beautifully-painted zealots from the board as they get wiped out immediately.

There can never be enough flagellants. Never. From what I understand, they are not much better than canon fodder but I have 60 in my Cities army.
60 is not enough forms but props on getting 80 of them done. Please post you mob when your done.

  6. Greet idea on the thread! Making the best of a bad time.
I have had great success on my Stormcast abomination and even struggled through building some loony Looncurse bounders and boss.
I have a halfassed  blog that I dont really know how to use properly but at least a progression is showing. Kitting out (or at least planning) the rest of the hobby room.
wife usually cringes when I head downstairs to paint but now she’s smiling cause she can get rid of me for a hour or so at a time without endangering everyone. 😸
I take my trusty laser eyed cat to help with welding issues when it’s warranted. Plus the other 2 non helpers. Here they are wondering when the table is coming.

  7. My March goals. Even got them based lol.
working on my Lord Aquilor and 2 more squads of Liberators + 2 Celestar Ballista.
with all this down time I might get them completed as well.

Using white is almost a verboten for me. It’s really intimidating tbh. If anyone can provide some perspectives or improvements, I’d be thankful.
I'm looking for a dirty used white - continuous use with little time for repairs or maintenance (being as judgemental as this host is - Knights Excelsior - means lots of time judging 😺

I tend to paint very fast so there may be no hope but advise is welcome

  8. Well, here we go. 1st model in a year and 4 months. I haven’t got to my basing materials yet (not that that helps much regardless)

This character fluff and model were my first inspiration to AoS and I decided come hell or high water, I would have this model and he would herald the new Stormcast army. He’s supposed to be in Knights Excelsior colours although I couldn’t find an example to paint from.
The first of the Matorean Knights Excelsior Chamber. Next up the lord Arcanum.

  9. Finally after a year and 4 months, the stars have aligned and I have a place to paint again. I tribute this thread to my last burst of painting and hope to do the same.
As the fledgling Stormcast I’ve been collecting Are ligning up, I will start with the one who inspired my Knights Exclesior chamber.
    The Lord Relictor.
The only difference will be orange tassels instead of red to suit the Matorean colour scheme.
Extended  goals will be the Lord Exorcist,  Lord Aquilor, Lord Arcanum

  10. This probably has been seen to but I’m looking for the place where you can find out what units become Battleline when you have certain leaders or allegiance’s.

quick examples - where does it say steam tanks become Battleline for a steam tank with commander or flaggelant’s are Battleline with greywater fastness or whatever. I thought maybe the warscroll would say if this is the general, these become Battleline etc.

hopefully this isn’t to embarrassingly obvious to everyone but me lol

  11. Matorea

The peninsula of Matorea is located in the northwest area of the realm of Ghyran .

It is a large area and filled with a diverse population of duardin, aelf kin and humans. A city state formed around a realm gate that leads to Hyshon the southern point of the peninsula. It’s become an affluent port and important enough to have a chamber of Knights Exclesior permanently stationed to coordinate defence and expansion.

The city-state loves its powder weapons and holds a Graywater Fastness affiliation.

In and under any paradise, there are things that don’t want you to live and prosper. That despise any grip or rationality that you can master over your domain. Greenskins in unwavering numbers, gitz and squigs galore, skaven and beastmen to  reek havoc cause they can, and of course, when you think walls can always keep them out, there’s Tzeentch to change the game plan.

Against this is the Matorean League. Aelves, duardin, humans and Stormcast in an effort against the ceaseless desire to destroy.

This is the backdrop for my AoS world. The Matorean world was borrowed from the Border Princes land from WFB. All the above armies exist in AoS style except the tzeentch. I will add maw tribes and the new Aelven from Hysh as it goes on.

    Added in for context

    Protagonist’s so far:

The  Matorean Chamber - Knights Exclesior 1170 pts

The Matorean League - Cities of Sigmar - Graywater Fastness 2490 pats

    Antagonist’s so far:

    Krasbog’s Gitz - Gloomspite Gitz  2480 pts

Almemnal’s Horrrors- Tzeentch Deamons 2470 puts

    Shivertooth’s HeadBangers - Orruk Warclan 2500 pts

GitStuffed’s Clan of Rats and Beasts  - chaos clash of skaven and beastmen - 1700 pts

    It’s a beginning 😸
