  1. When they did Khorne Daemonkin for 40k, they were doing AoS Bloodbound releases at the same time. They followed up Thousand Sons with Disciples of Tzeentch. I think it's safe to say that cross promotion is well within the realm of possibility. Yeah, but for me it's just time. I can't go out two nights a week on the reg to play both games, and even making two days per month to try and hit an AoS event and a 40k event means less time with family. Being a married adult is a bummer for hobbying
  2. I do wonder if the 40k players who have switched will just flock back or end up playing both. I have trouble juggling multiple game systems, but I like both a lot.
  3. Except Skyfires don't take any upgrades so you would still need to just adjust their base points. Kind of a bad example. Would make sense for Kurnoth Hunters I guess, but honestly Bow Hunters and Scythe/Sword Hunters should just be separate profiles and points.
  4. Exciting! Though I wish we had more concrete news so I could do some planning. Sounds like a good reason to build up some Nurgle stuff though, so I can cross it over between the two. I wonder if I could kitbash Rotbringers and the new Death Guard to use in either game...
  5. I could see them announcing both TGH2 and 40k 8th in the same announcement. Would be cool to have just one time per year where both games get updates.
  6. See, now everyone is expecting this to be TGH2 tomorrow. Then BAM. Slaanesh and Death Battletomes.
  7. I think it's extremely likely. A Death Guard release closely tied with a Daemons of Nurlge release updating Beasts and GUOs. Makes sense from pretty much every business angle.
  8. Looks like a really solid shooting army so far. Will have to wait for points, but I'm seeing some really nasty setups, especially if your opponent can't take down those airships!
  9. To be fair, there's only so much you can do with skeletons in rotted/corroded armor. They all end up feeling like variations of one another. It's similar with my Necrons, the only difference between most skeleton robots is how lavishly they're adorned.
  10. Solid question. Slaanesh doesn't have an equivalent of Bloodbound/Arcanites/Rotbringers, so it might be their version of dedicated corrupted mortals or whatever. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  11. I personally think that the less restrictive the ruleset, the better. No one likes being told "you can't do that because x". Having minuses is ok, debuffs/buffs/etc makes things more dramatic, but being told that you can't shoot because someone is close by just makes people unable to use their models, and that's less fun in my mind. I hope 40k allows shooting into/out of combat as well.
  12. This was one of the things they announced at Adepticon. Forums specifically for FAQs, but they didn't know specifically what it'll look like. They mentioned things like voting on questions and answers, and there wasn't really anything about the questions ending up in a final FAQ, but we'll see in the coming months.
  13. I was chatting with someone and the discussion of Summoning came up again. What would you guys think if there was no Summoning Pool, but instead you just could not summon over the agreed point limit? So, if you start at 1500 points in a 2000 point game, you can summon 500 points right off the bat, but for armies that start at 2000 points, you can only Summon things once you have already lost units. That way, you don't get into the situation where one army is suddenly 2x larger than their opponent, but it can be used as a reinforcement tool (and therefore shut down by killing the Wizards before killing units for them to replace). I think something needs to change, but unsure at this point.
  14. New Rumor Engine Anchors or something similar digging through the ground? Maybe a chain dragging behind something? Could very well be from the Nurgle release (something hanging off of Mortarion?), though it could also be an AoS thing easily. The design lends itself to Destruction or Death more than anything from AoS but who knows.
  15. There was on Dakka an amazing fan Battletome for Void Swarm - aka Tyranids. AoS rules for every Tyranid model that looked relatively decent. Nids are a good fit for AoS anyway - they're not SciFi other than being Ridley Scott Alien expies, and in all the Mortal Realms (or rather, the void between them), there's plenty of room for an omnicidal bug race. Sadly hasn't been updated in a while, but I was a fan and would immediately start a force if GW made an official port. Link: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/697553.page
  16. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/03/15/rumour-engine-march-15th-2017/ GW WHAT ARE YOU DOING SLOW DOWN
  17. Compendium is only for stuff that they no longer sell. I think it'll be a long time before we start seeing those armies get squatted, though they might not get new books. Greenskinz even have a Start Collecting! I'm wondering if we'll see updated Grand Alliance books after TGH2. New book with updated Alliance Traits from TGH that expound a bit more on the smaller factions that are unlikely to get their own Battletome. Unlikely, but possible. Skirmish is what I'm thinking as well, though I'm hoping for something with a bit of flair rather than "Kill Team but in AoS".
  18. I dunno about you, but I'm quite interested in this snippet from Shadespire: "It has been designed specifically for competitive, organised play, to support our growing community of gamers out there." I'm quite happy with Open and Narrative play, but it's awesome that they've realized organized competition is a huge draw to a lot of players. I can't wait to see what it's about!
  19. Got the R1 results anywhere? BCP app? Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  20. They're building a lot up - I'm thinking we'll have a lot to see at Adepticon during that panel they've been hyping.
  21. Been painting my Stormcast. That picture looks nothing like Stormcast heroes or otherwise.
  22. You need to take one Thunderhead Battalion with 3 units of Judicators instead of 2. Optional Lords of the Storm, up to 2 Thunderhead, up to 3 Hammerstrike. Units within 8" of a Lords of the Storm hero roll a dice on the Hero Phase. On a 6, they can Move, Shoot, or Pile In. Optional artifact - weapon. If you wound but don't kill a model with the weapon you choose, roll a dice. If it's higher than the Wounds characteristic, the model is slain. Ability is nice but unreliable. Artifact is pretty bad since things you want to instagib (Heroes and Monsters) either are immune or need to roll to 6. Might be ok for fighting Brutes and stuff. Overall not bad, cheap buy in with stuff you might want to take anyway. But nothing amazing imo. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  23. I don't see it that way. Yes, sticking to an allegiance gets you a lot of toys, but not sticking to one gives you the bonus of not having to stick to it. Want Kurnoth Hunters with your Dwarves? Go for it! Want Skaven shooting with your Tzeentch magic? Knock yourself out! That in and of itself is a massive bonus. Priests are different from Wizards but I wouldn't put them as automatically better. Sure they can't be unbound, but they also can't unbind without special abilities. There's also (currently) no modifiers to Prayer rolls, while many Wizards or supporting units give +1 or more modifiers to the rolls. And 2 dice for casting is much more consistent than 1 dice for praying. Grass is always greener. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah, but there's no news of any new ones, nor a new series akin to Realmgate Wars. I was sure they would revisit the characters from those novels and have a new arc related to the Tzeentch stuff going on.
