Thank you very much ! Hope the Nurgling got better (I know this kind of situation) ;)

Thanks. He’s better but not 100% as not quite back to eating how he used to.

Well I've read the summary many times, it was IMO too short on Malign Portent, but anyway I'm so so excited for 2018.

I know what you mean but again if you look back at this year it’s been amazing for big releases, so I’m happy to keep some for next year. GW are doing amazing stuff, so reward them with a bit of faith and spend lots of money when it’s out!

PS - Shadespire is amazing. Buy all the stuff

Could you please tell us more about the B&G seminar ?  I wish someone did a little summary :)

Too be honest, the summary is on the Community Site - https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/11/03/news-codexes-heroes-blood-glorygw-homepage-post-3/

Nobody really got much more information than this but I was at the back and didn't really hear much. I think the following got asked and answered... (note these answers are my fuzzy memory from the Friday night which has been tainted with lack of sleep from a projectile vomiting child and doing lots of audit stuff at work).

Q - FAQs. What is the process for these

A - Post the question on the Facebook page for the game. The Community team will collect info and pass onto Design Studio who may answer and it gets put into a FAQ.

Q - There seems to be a lot of talk about 'Seasons' in AOS. What do you mean by this. (This was asked as the title video we saw mentioned the Season of Hope was over)

A - A season is like a period of time and can range from a few days to centuries. The idea is that it's a theme that they work in when designing the models, art, background and rules. At the moment the game has been pretty much set in an Season of Hope. Sigmar and his Allies have been able to push back the tide of Chaos and establish thriving cities in the Mortal Plains, The Everqueen has awoken and his cleansing her lands of taint and the Kharadron have come out of their seclusion and trading with the other races. All in all, it is good for the forces of Order. They've decided to change this now and it looks like we will see a darker tone :D

Q - Do you have different teams in the Design Studio for the different games?

A - No. If it has the word "Warhammer" in it anybody in the studio will get involved as they all bounce cool ideas off each other. So you could have somebody doing some art for 40K which influences the design on a Age of Sigmar model (and visa versa).

    Hope that helps ;)

@Gaz Taylor correct me if I'm wrong but I thought we would see all 4 "Heralds" with Blood and Glory. I'm happy with the two though :)

I wasn't expecting to see all four at all. It's too close to the end of the year and this is going to be a big release so why would you drop a big reveal when you can keep it for 2018 ;)

  4. For everybody moaning about the AOS releases in the last part of this year - Wait for 2018. GW need to get the bulk of the 40K codexes out to support the new game, especially as it's their biggest money earner (don't believe me, have a look at the online store as there are plenty of things out of stock). They've also done a sneaky reveal for what is happening next year and it's going to be big. It's going to be so big, they want to keep it a surprise for next year rather than shoehorn it into the tail end of this year and not give it the support it needs ;)

Just in case you aren't sure...

    image.png.df9c3b93be672693d14d8271a9f0c996.png

This is the new logo. Why have they done a new logo? Could it be a new boxed game or maybe even a new edition? (I'm going with new box game). Doesn't the logo have subtle hints of a eerie greenness to it, like a ghostly green glow?

    MalignPortents.jpg

    Malign-Portents2-370x500.jpg

Also they dropped a preview in September for the Malign Portents by showing the Knight of Shrouds. Maybe this and the new logo are linked? Maybe a new Age is going to happen?

So personally, I would wait until next year ;)

Mine arrived yesterday, but like you I haven’t had a chance to open it or do anything with it yet. Looking forward to cracking it open and building the models this weekend.

I’ve opened mine now and slowly assembling the Stormcast. It’s a fantastic looking game. Hope it gets a strong following for years

  6. Well as I only seem to play at events now, I find it's easier to go to their events. Gives me plenty of time to let my wife know so we can sort out a baby sitter if she is working on the weekend. I live about an hour away, so could do casual playing but I suspect it would cause issues at home as I usually don't get back from work late anyway!!

In a couple of the review videos they're mentioning a daemon weapon which damages the user? I don't have a card like that in my shadespire box so it must come with one of the expansion warbands or my set was short some cards.

Anyone else have any ideas about this?

It comes with the Orruks I think and I think it's limited to their warband rather than being a generic card (but I could be wrong)

Here's how I see the next few months going down for releases:

    October: Death Guard & Shadespire

November: Nurgle (AOS) & Necromunda, remaining 40k codexes

December: Chapter Approved, christmas bundle boxes

    January+: Deathrattle, Nagash AOS campaign

I suspect November will just be Necromunda, 40K codexes (Craftworlds and Tyranids with new Starts collecting boxes), and the other two Warbands for Shadespire. Don't forget there are still some Death Guard releases to come as well so I think we will see those. So I don't think we will see anything else for AOS (apart from Shadespire) for rest of year :(

What/why are there 'full art' cards? Besides aesthetic...any reason to own them?

Also, why would I pre-order this? Is there a pre-order special? These cards?

The Art Cards are alternative artwork cards that are being given to attendees of the first public Shadespire event in the UK. You don't need them but they are a nice little bonus for attending the event.

As for Pre-ordering, it's all down to you. You get nothing special for it but it's always nice to have something on release day and sometimes you might get it through early.

  10. With the game just days away from Pre-Order and lots of people have been getting preview copies, we have been seeing more and more images of the cards and rules out in the wilderness.

Can I please ask everybody to be wary about posting images. Stuff that has already been shown on the Warhammer Community Site or various review sites are okay, but can we avoid any direct photos/scans of the cards. This especially applies to any new Warbands coming up (Think of the ones in the broken mirror picture we haven't seen models for yet).

I think the goal is to release new boards later separately (as Bloodbowl like you say). They are smaller and can be sold easier I would think.

Yup. I see this being one part of the Warhammer Underworlds game which will shift to different areas bit like how Magic the Gathering does with each major release. This means that they can theme the models for that release and we get to see cool stuff we might never ever have seen in the past. I'm expecting Shadespire to be for 12 months and then we see the next Underworlds release but the games can all work with each other.

I've never played TCGs before, are the Card Sleeves worth getting? In general, not specifically the GW ones that I'm sure are going to be quite higher than going to a FLGS for something non-branded.

As somebody who dabbles with card games (current favourite is Final Fantasy - go try it as it is really good!), I would say Card Sleeves are a must. They protect your cards, but also make it so much easier to shuffle your deck and also have a nice feel to them. If I like the look of the GW ones, I'll get some but I'll probably get some indy ones.

No copy limit for cards in your deck seems like a questionable design choice. Maybe they overlooked it in the unboxing vid.

Someone asked about duplicate cards on Facebook , and the answer was that you may have no more than one of each card in your deck.

I quite like this choice around the decks. Okay people are worried about players having massive decks but with you only being limited to one copy of a card, means this won't be so much of an issue and makes it more luck based when fishing for cards.

Not sure if anybody has seen this yet, but Miniwargaming have done a great battle report on the game

gameplay wise im gonna predict that fyreslayers unique style of play will be the fact that every model can throw a fyresteel axe like in aos!

I wouldn't be surprised if they could do something like that. I'm really looking forwards to Skaven though if I'm honest! :D

Used to be, now i should be around 55. Since Brexit the pound is only worth 1,09. Financially not the best decision ;)

Not to turn this into a political topic but I did vote no!

Although GW is a bit behind the times in that area: Blood bowl is is £65 which should be €70 but they sell it for €85. Which always makes me a bit angry. Especially if you then have to pay for shipping as well (you don't have to pay for shipping for orders over €50). It just feels ridiculous that GW is still running an outdated exchange rate OR just feel europe should pay roughly 130%  the price.

Yeah it is interesting how it seems to operate that but I'm guessing it's useful to them to be able to set the price and still make money if it fluctuates a lot.

That's not what I'm getting at.

I'd be kinda disappointed if we get something like "starter decks" which are incomplete or don't have the appropriate amount of card X in it. So they force you to buy either another set or a stand alone card pack for 10+ bucks, either once or multiple times, depending on the completeness of the starters.

I'm all for addons for existing factions later on (which would be darn cool and would show continued support for the game), but I don't want MtG-like extortion.

Ah now I get you. Tough to say as we don't really know how the decks work. If you have multiples of a card then it could be an issue with what GW have done in the past, but I'm hoping that they are aware about this issue or if they aren't they can adapt quickly to it.

Same here! love the old skool design. (yes, that's how you're supposed to spell it in this context).

But big thing will be the price. I always like the concepts of these separate games. Bit of a different gameplay, good excuse to paint some different models but then the price usually deters me. €125 for silver tower, €85 for bloodbowl (which is fine, I just would prefer different squads meaning the price will go up).

So hoping this will be the one ;)

Yeah I love it too! Looks a great box and I'm hoping for a £50 price tag (which is €85?)

So the warhammer community article has been updated. The release month is neither September nor November.

    Here is the quote:

"If you want to try Shadespire for yourself, you won’t have to wait long – it’ll be available this October with the first two expansions out by November."

    LOL!

I would be happy with any but would prefer right now as I really want to play this game!

The price tag will be interesting and how many game components you get.

A box with two armies? Single army boxes? Full deck?

I think the core set is the Stormcast and Blood Reavers, plus boards and cards. Expansions are expected (Undead confirmed) and I imagine they come with their own deck

Heard something about each army having its board?

Yeah one of the mechanics is you bring your own half of the board to a game as it can give advantages to your warband
