  1. Hmmmm....I'm a grown man who enjoys painting and playing pretend with little knights, aelves, and orruks.

In that light, it's hard to imagine being upset because some 8-12 year olds will get some fiction to read.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m surpized this hasn’t been brought up in these forums yet. This image came from GWs recent convention. No explanation given about this group. But looking at the sculpted based & the groups composition, I think these guys may be a warband for the next underworlds game.

I like them. The roses are a nice touch.

Where'd you get the image from?

I certainly would but the rules don’t add anything to the factions, the units are too small and won’t last long enough to be really useful. If they could have a bit more of a support role they’d be great.

Shadespire warbands are great for serving double duty in games of Skirmish. I mean, the two Stormcast warbands give you a Skirmish force of 6...or throw in the Fyreslayers for a combined Order Skirmish group of 10.

As Shadespire progresses with releases, we're receiving more and more Skirmish options.

This is an amazing deal. Buy Shadespire to play shadespire...purchase that ~$10 Skirmish book...and now you're also playing AoS with shadespire only purchases.

Because casting a specific spell requires there to be such a spell. I've not seen "Remove Air" in the game so far, but I have seen dispels.

Not that I'm fussed by it. It does lead to cool models, as you say, but it seems pretty gimmicky to me as a fluff thing. Very forced.

Hmmm....I'm guessing this army works in the same way an army of skeletons does. How do they move? Spell cast on them/their area allowing them to operate when normally they would be dead still. This usually takes a strong spellcaster...a Necromancer.

Similar thing with Deepkin. A spell cast in the area allowing the creatures to operate where normally they'd flop around. Maybe this spell is even cast by...a Mistweaver.

Seems if we can accept reanimated corpses...it's not too much of a stretch to accept flying fish...

so if it is a terrain piece, explain how the fish are swimming on land and why a sunken ship would be on land with aquatic life living off it while not in water? I guess magic.. but for a game that is land based battles im a tad perplexed how all the armies could fight underwater.. or how all underwater things could fight on land that would otherwise require the ocean or body of water for them to exist, even in this setting.

do they roll around in giant spheres of water and engage in battle? not trying to be sarcastic, im really curious how they will do this.

Either way, if this is a terrain piece, one can make a great ghostly ship for the undead rules that came out prior to this nagash one..

I had the same question...how could this work? Then a friend made it all clear...giant crustaceans (lobsters, crabs, etc.), snakes, and serpents.

They'd be water creatures that can also walk/crawl about and battle on land.

Yeah, I was just hoping for some things to shake up playstyle and the like. I mean, there's some nice additions and changes, but at the end of the day I'm pretty much still running the same lists in the same old way. :|

Ah well, here's some Dire Wolves I quickly slapped some paint on. These being Battleline might open up fun new options for me. (All cavalry force? All cavalry force!)

Historically, I have not been a fan of these models...this paint job has made me a believer!

    "us" and "we" = "me"

Not all Stormcast players, or AoS players in general fir that matter, exist in a state of hive mind or group think.

Some like the more mysterious helmeted look, while other prefer more humanity (such as the poster above).

GW are catering to both, and rightly so.

I'm referring to myself and my main AoS opponent. ;)

Erm stormcast were never written as ethereal/spiritual beings in armour even from the first campaign book and story. The mask is largely meant to represent sigmar's face more than anything.

I know. but with full masks we can 'pretend' they're that way on our tables. ;)

  9. I don't mind it being stormcast, but this model only works for us if he comes with a helmeted option. I know bare faced models is something fans want to provide 'humanity' to the Stormcast, but we much prefer the idea of them being almost etheral/spiritual beings in the armour. It gives the reforging a bit more of a mystifying feel as opposed to just flesh and blood reincarnation.

Plus, in the past year I have come around to the epic, he-man style AoS aethetic in a big way...not too plussed to see a turn back to holy roman empire flavored models. Let's move on. :/

  10. I'm a few days late here (holiday), but that music video is incredible. Makes me smile on every watch.

Not that I'm a nurgle player (yet), but it shows GW having a lot of fun these days. Love it.

That hand in the background reaching for pastries....great touch! Lol!
