Welcome back to Halfling Cities of Sigmar!

This time there’s some hobbit Calvary to display!
First off, here’s a freshly completed Freeguild General (on a pony). And though rules wise he doesn’t have a mount, he definitely looks way cooler with one.

Then there’s some Demighryph knights WIP. I got all the base colors and washes on them, so all that’s left is layers of highlights! Expect to see completed rooster knights in the future.

Let me know what you all think of these or if an army as a whole (or should is say half? 😉)
    Until next time!

Welcome back to Halfling Cities of Sigmar blog!
This time it’s a little update on a unit I painted a while back, but never shared. They were used as Freeguild archers previously, but now with that unit gone, these will be used as Shadow Warriors.

Currently I’m working on Halfling demigryph knights and a Freeguild general, so expect that in neat future!

    That’s it for now!
Hope you like what I’ve got!
    Until next time.

Welcome back to the Halfling Cities of Sigmar Blog!
This time I got a completed Hurricanum to show off. This is an integral part of the army I’m working on as well this army’s lore as a whole.

The Halflings of StoutHill  worship a deity know by many names: “The Great Rooster”,  “The Mighty ******”, “The Ferocious one”, “The Provider”. Hobbits recognize two aspects of this God: Ferocity and Harvest. While ferocity aspect is very familiar to halflings on the battlefield, the aspect of Harvest is more common to farmers and families back in the villages.
However, on the fields of battle this aspect may sometimes be seen as a glorious golden statue of The Provider, manned by a priestess, and surrounded with a variety of harvests. This inspires the hobbits to fight even harder, reminding them that they’re protecting their homeland, foreshadowing a big meal after the battle, or literally allowing them to snack on some food.

The carriage is full of gifts from the Great Rooster:

The whole thing is manned by a priestess determined to see the enemies of the Provider dead and Halfling bellies full:

And that is it for this post. Let me know what you think!
Hope you like what I’ve got!
    Until next time.

Hello traveler, nice of you to stop by. Sit back, relax and enjoy all the halfling goodness I got to offer.
Okay, so it’s been over a year since the last post in this blog and there’s a good reason for it.. Kind of.  Basically I didn’t do much hobby for a while, and then when I got back into it I decided to finish my entire Skaven army first, which was a lot of models. But now I’m back!

Without further ado, here’s what halflings have been up to.  Cities of Sigmar exists as an army now, and I think I’ll be playing hobbits  as Hallowheart, thus a lot of magic, which means I’ll need a lot of casters.
    Here’s a recently completed Sorceress counts-as:

And here’s the next big project: Halfling Hurricanum!

The mage on the top is done, now onto the rest of the model:

This is it for now, but expect more regular updates in the future (hopefully).

Hope you like what I’ve got!
    Until next time.

    Hi there again,
Finally got a little more hobby done. This time it’s an addition to Halfling  greatswords!
I still need to complete a standard banner, and then a unit of 20 will be complete.
These are part of a small force for a local escalation league that starts in January. Next are demigryph knights and a free guild general!
Also, I know I promised Halfling crossbowmen last time, so here’s a little WIP shot.

Hope you like what I’ve got!
    Untile next time.

Halflings are back after another three-month hiatus! It seems to be the trend for this blog.
Anyway, a few days ago I was lucky to play my good friend Chuck Moore at local FLGS. He brought his Daughters of Khaine that he is taking to a Narrative Realms at War (RAW) event in England!
Here's a link to his blog! (In case you guys didn't know Chuck has a blog).
    http://therealmgate.blogspot.com

We played Blood and Glory scenario, which worked to my benefit since  I could bunch up a lot of my key units in one corner, with them benefiting from one another.
Long story short, I was able to outshoot his army and my Griffon was a total meatgrinder on his one charge, so by turn four there was not much left of the poor ladies.

I will say that I'm definitely more of a competitive rather than a narrative player, so I had a tough time getting into a narrative playstyle. However, Chuck managed to keep the game very lighthearted and made it fun, letting me know when I was taking the game a bit too seriously.
In the end, while neither army won major, Halfling snatched a minor victory! Another win for the small guys!
Currently, I'm working on a unit of Halfling crossbowmen so expect some progress shots of those in the future.
    That's it for today!
Hope you like what I've got,
    Until next time!

    Welcome back!
Here's the newest addition to Halfling force! He is as swift and furious as a gryphhound, and makes up for his size with unparalleled bravery and cockiness! Meet Sparkles the rooster!

Sparkles will be attending local Coalescence event, along with Halfling Free Peoples army and a Steam Tank. Expect coverage of that event soon after!
    That's it for today!
Hope you like what I've got,
    Until next time!

    Halflings are back again!!
This time the hobbit forces attended a doubles tournament in Ohio hosted by "Rend 4, Age of Sigmar War Gaming" club! An unlikely alliance was formed between the forces of the Moot and the bloody pillagers of Khorne.  Here's a bit of fluff on that!

Since I didn't attend a tourney for a while, I wanted to make this one special and make my first display board, and boy did it pay off!

Event itself consisted of 16 teams and 32 players battling it off to see who was  superior! Each player brought a 1000 point list, so in the end it was a 2000 point battle. There were three games, with each lasting three hours, which was more than plenty of time. Me and my teammate brought middle of the road lists and were just hoping to stay on mid tables, and man were we wrong. .
Our first game was against double Slaves to Darkness list with lots of chaos knights, and Total Conquest scenario. The guys, Josh and Nick, were newer players, but knew their rules very well, and were great fun to play against!  They decided to give us the first turn, and that was their biggest fault as both my teamamate and I got lucky on our run rolls and grabed the side objectives early on.  From then on we just had to weather the knights' charge and stay put, as we had a large advantage in numbers! We got 30/30 points this game, scoring both our secondary objectives as well!

Going into game two, we were slighlty fired up since we unexpectadly did so well our first game! This time, our opponents, Rob and Matt, combined the forces of Nurgle and Daughers of Khaine (They also might have had one of the best team names "Dirty Girls"). The scenario was Starstrike. The first objective fell right into the middle of the table and large unit of bloodletters quickly snatched it away. However what the game came down to was where the other two objectives were going to fall, and they dropped exactly where we wanted them to, which won us the game. However, by the end of the game there was only one brave halfling left on the table. This game we also scored 30/30 possibe points! Pressure was one!

Doing way better than we thought we would, our last game was against the "Defending Champs", Michael and Roger, who also scored 60/60 possible points so far. While we were excited to be on table 1, we also knew that now we were playing against top players. Our opponents brough a Stormcast and a Fyreslayers alliance list (+ flamesphyre pheonix). The scenario was Scorched Earth, and quite honestly we got pretty schooled this game. Our opponents outplayed us  every turn, and we lost a crucial priority roll in the middle of the game. I also did not use my griffon as effectively as I could've, which Roger pointed out in the end of the game. Overall, we got crushed, but managed to score 5 points (due to the kindness of our opponents). This game was defientely a learning experience and showed us that there is much room for growth!

In the end of the tournament we finished 5th out of 16 teams. Not too bad considering we were hoping for mid-tables! What was the most exciting though is that we got both "Best Combined Alliance" and "Best Chaos Alliance"!
On the side note, there was also a pianting competition and my halfling ranger ended up taking home "Best Painted Single Model" award!

At the end of the day, this was an absolutely amazing event, with a great TO and community which loves their hobby! There is also talk of even bigger GT-type event in the future, which is very exciting!

****Here's a link to the "Rend 4, Age of Sigmar Wargaming Club". You guys should definetely check them out! It's a very active Age of Sigmar group in Ohio, with some amazing people running it!***

    Halflings are back!!
My apologies for not posting for a while, but college got the best of me. Still, last weekend I was fortunate enough to attend an event in Ohio hosted by "Rend 4" Club with my good friend Chuck Moore. You can check out his coverage of the event right here
Anyway, the day before the event came and more than half of my army wasn't painted so I had to hold a 6-hour painting session after school to get three colors minimum on all my models (I'm sure some of you know the struggle).  However, the task was accomplished and the Halfling "Free Peoples" force was ready to go.

Going into event, I was not expecting to do too well since I brought a mediocre list (Steamtank, archers, and demigryph knights are not particularly overpowered), but I planned to have fun anyway.
My first opponent was Michael representing Pittsburgh "Steel City Sigmar" club, and from what I've heard he was quite a good player and indeed he was! We played "Duality of Death" and boy I got crushed! His stardrake held one of the obejctives the whole game, while he promptly shot off anything that I tried to hold the second objective with. I've got a major loss that game, but I did score a secondary objective and Mike was a great sport and it was great chatting with him throughout the game!

Getting crushed the first game didn't particularly get my hopes up going firther into the tournament but I still was in quite high spirits and even managed to get second in the Painting Comp with my "Ice Queen".

Moving on to the second game I ended up playing Chuck's Khorne in "Battle for the Pass" as we both ended up with pretty much the same scores. So far, my Halflings had an undefeated record against his Khorne, and maybe someday he will get that hobbit blood, but today was not that day! Getting initiative  pretty much every turn, and rolling incredibly well with my shooting I managed to score a major victory and a secondary objective for that game.

Going into the last game, I played Dave Roke who is a part of "Rend 4" club, and I'm just now realizing that I played against all three clubs represented at the event, including my own. The scenario was "Starstrike" and Dave used a Seraphon army with Celestant Prime as an ally. It was my first time playing Seraphon and they are quite a formidable force, especially with Slann casting three spells per turn and blocking all my spells.

The absolute MVP of that game was definetely my General on a Griffon holding out on his own against Celestant Prime and Saurus Guard with 1 wound left, and rolling 12 succesful save rolls of 3+.

In the end, it was an extremely close game up until the last second of the last turn, where if Dave managed to kill one more model he would've won the major! But that was not the case, as I managed to snatch a major victory from right under the Lizard's claws, which put me at 4th overall and surprisingly 1st in Order!

In the end of tha day, I got to play some amazing games of Age of Sigmar and meet some fantastic people passionate about the hobby! The event was a success and the T.O. (Neil Larocca) did a great job putting it all together!

That's it from me this time! See you in probably like another month or so.
Hope you like what I've got,
    Until next time!

Wow, I really didn't post anything for a while.
Anyway, life has been quite busy and not much hobby has been done. I've built a battlemage and wanted to give him a sort of a steampunkish look, so tell me what you guys think. I know it's not halflings, but he's definitely going to be allied with my army.

I've also got to test out Shadespire with my good friend Chuck Moore @Odiamh , and while I was skeptical at first, now I'm absolutely in love with the game. The rules seem a bit complex at first but once you play 1 or 2 games it becomes a very quick, fun and tactical game.  Chuck decided to take the side of Stormcast, while I was playing Khorne. We played the best of three, with him taking the first victory, and me winning the other two. Last game was especially fun, as I killed all three stormcast with a single bloodreaver in the last phase. Check out the pics below!

That's it for this update. I'll try to post more hobby and especially halflings as the time allows!
Hope you like what I've got,
    Until next time!

Alright alright alright, finally another hobby update.
To be quite honest not a lot got done during the last week, but it was not completely fruitless. I cleaned some of the gaps in larger models and finished the chicken combs and wattles on demigryphs and a griffon.

Also, I do not quite have the lore of my army yet, but I do know one thing for sure, and that's that they absolutely despise grots, especially the moonclan type. Thus, I'm planning to sculpt a dead grot on every base of a hero from this army. I also considered adding some to unit champions and will definetely have quite a few on a display board, but that's far in the future.

That's it for this week's hobby update. What do you guys think? I would be happy to hear any feedback, criticism, or ideas for the army since it's definetely a WIP!
Hope you like what I've got,
    Until next time!

Here I'll be sharing my Empire/Bretonnia Age of Sigmar Halfling Army. I've actually started it when the 8th edition was still rolling but at the time it was a small 500 points force. Now I can field around 2500 points worth of half men, however sadly most of it is yet unpainted and needs some more love. Here is an Emire General to get things started!
P.S. I would love to hear what u guys think! If you have any critique or advice!

Alright, I guess it's time to finally update this Blog. Truly has been quite some time. From now on I'll try to Update this at least biweekly, so those of you interested may enjoy yourselves some hobbits.
This time, 10 freshly painted greatswords and a Halfling General with decapitated moonclan grot's head at his feet!

Hope you like what I've got,
    Wubba lubba dub dub,
    Until next time!

Alright guys here's to another blog update!
Quite honestly not much got done during the week, but I accomplished to make the basic combs and wattles for all my chickens! There's still a little bit of greenstuff work to do, but the basis is there.

I also got a few games of Age of Sigmar this Saturday (haven't played in about a month), both skirmish and 1000 point Matched Play.                                                                                                                                            It was a great chance to see how the Free Peoples perform and I quite like how they play. The first game was against Spiderfang, playing "Knife to the Heart", and let me tell you  THESE SPIDERS ARE SCARY!! I barely got a minor win by killing more enemy units, but it was a very close game. (!my objective marker is a chicken because halflings!)

Then I played against my good friend Chuck Moore and his freshly done KHORNE ARMY!! He does a lot of community work, is involved with GW and AOS community as a whole! He also does a bunch of projects ALL the time (really puts me to shame)! Check out his "Realm Gate" Blog and follow him on Twitter @odiamh.

We played "Duality of Death", and while I was quite worried about his Khorne, I think the scenario was slightly in my favor and his positioning was a bit too widespread. In the end, I got out of it with a major win, yet it was still very fun to play as always!!

Hope you like what I've got,
    Until next time!
  15. AKING
One of the more recent additions to my Halfling Army was the STEAM TANK! However, not the GW one, but rather a scrap-build one from various bits and garbage in my possession. My reasoning was that first, it's a nice model but way too expensive; second, I would have to do a ton of conversion work anyway to fit the halfling theme. So here it is ladies and gents, the terrifying Steam Engine of the Moot!
