  1. Yeah it's definitely this and not indexes. Indexes would either be cards or much thicker books. A free magazine to introduce the lore is a really good idea though. Even after 3 editions, there editions there are still loads of people who can't wrap their heads around the setting. A free magazine with some cool art and lore is exactly what is needed. It's a funny leak really. It tells us exactly nothing we didn't already know. The clearest Skaven picture is of a hellpit abomination which we already have.
  2. The teasers were cool when they did sillouetes, but they've got more and more vague in the last few years. We already almost all the factions that will be shown. I'm not expecting anything surprising.
  3. Hold your what? I had no idea this forum was into that sort of thing. In other news I just re-watched the 40k leviathan trailer. Every single model from the launch box featured in the cinematic. From the teaser, were definitely getting a cg trailer for AoS so even if they don't show off the full box we should get a pretty good idea of the contents next week.
  4. The index isn't the time to make cuts. If we use 40k 10th edition as an example, all the old kits were there. It's only when the codex comes out that we see the changes. Indexes are mostly used to keep the old playerbase happy. "Look here's rules for all your old toys. Don't worry." New players are more likely to buy one of the launch factions and GW wants to encourage that. The time the changes are made is with the codex. This is the chance for GW to say "look at all this new stuff. Who cares are Razordons when we have this awesome new Spawn of Chotec." With the possible exception of the Beasts of Chaos, I don't think they'll cut anything going into 4th edition. Resin kits will be cut and hopefully replaced when each book comes out. As for book cuts with books I don't see anything major. With the launch of the new cities range, the biggest piece of negative feedback was about the lack of Duardin and Aelves. Gw has to realise they hit on a popular idea with the melting pots of the cities. They keep writing new fiction that features cities Duardin. It's much more likely that we see new Duardin and Aelves for cities than those ranges get dumped and the book becomes human only. The reason the new minis are all humans is because three years ago when gw were planning the new range, everyone was asking about normal humans. We've seen this time and time again with AoS. Remember when people were complaining about the lack of Aelves in the setting or when their were complaints that Death hadn't got any AoS minis yet. TLDR Resin models will go away but it will continue to happen gradually. Indexes will include ALL current models. Cities Duardin and Aelves aren't going anywhere but could get new sculpts. Beasts of Chaos- who knows??
  5. The rumour list from @SG Warhound said the arch warlock, warlock and master moulder would all be getting new kits so Skaven probably won't be losing any characters. If anything the character roster will be getting bigger. If the rumour is to be believed, we're losing the smaller rats but gaining wolf rats. The real question is about gutter runners (and night runners) and plague censor bearers. Clan Eshin could be looking pretty low on units in the new edition.
  6. That's not remotely surprising. They did the same thing with the Seraphon book. Kits like the Razordon and some of the heroes didn't get replacements. The Vespids thing is actually encouraging though. Assuming they are real(and Valrak's been pretty accurate recently), it suggests we could see gutter runners or plague censor bearers return in a warcry warband if they are cut from the battletome.
  7. I'm sure they will. Over in 40k land they are doing it. It's just it's codex and hero model in big fomo box this time. I think we'll get a couple of hero tomes at the end of this year. My current favourites are Soulblight and Nighthaunt. They've both done very well with minis recently.
  8. With less than a week to go to Adepticon, it's time for some predictions. Adepticon show. 40k: two chaos heroes with box sets. Flying Sisters hero with box set. Agents of the imperium teaser. AoS: Dawnbringers book 6 with Abraxia or whatever her name is. No other heroes. AoS 4th cinematic trailer A couple of minis from the launch box shown but not the full set. A few details about rules. Indexes are mentioned. Kill team: Gsc Vs loV box. Next edition teased Warcry: Sylvaneth Vs OBR Underworlds: New box set. Who knows what warbands but maybe Nurgle Vs Cities religious types. The Old World Dwarves. A couple of new heroes. Would love to see the missing tank. Necromunda: Necromunda secondus teaser Horus Heresy: Plastic Admech teaser. That would make for a pretty good show with more to look forward to in the rest of the spring.
  9. Hard disagree. The menagerie of different creatures is one of my favourite things about the Stormcast. I hope we see another unique mount added to the range.
  10. I think everyone is aware of this possibility by now, but I think it safe to say I'm not alone in much preferring the other type of Kurnothi. A Kurnothi warband in the vein of the underworlds warband or the cursed city hero would be an instant buy. Some slightly different looking Sylvaneth would not.
  11. That's definitely OBR, almost certainly a new warcry warband.
  12. I think we are talking at cross purposes here. Is Eternus functionally a Stormcast in the way he was made and what he does? Yes. Is it possible for Nagash and even the Skaven to make their own versions of Stormcast. Yes. OBR are kind of that already. To me those aren't particularly interesting questions though. For me, the interesting questions are: Is it possible for a Stormcast to willfully turn against Sigmar in the that Archon did and what would happen to them if they tried? How much free will do the Stormcast actually have? What is the nature of the flaw? Was it deliberately engineered? Can it be reversed? What would happen to knights Excelsior if they suddenly got all their memories back? How benevolent is Sigmar? Can Stormcast actually die? I'm sure there are more. The question of whether another power can copy the process of making a Stormcast isn't interesting to me simply because the answer is clearly yes.
  13. Yeah but the lore implications are not remotely the same. We've yet to see a Stormcast switch factions from order. That is a lever that GW has resisted pulling so far. Eternus was a chaos worshipper the whole time. He just switched from supporting Archon to Belakor.
  14. Very excited to see the full cg trailer at Adepticon. Don't expect to see more than a couple of minis from each faction but the trailer will probably give hints about the rest. As for the lie, my feeling is that he lied about the possibility of a cure. He knew the search of the sacrosanct chamber would yield nothing. The flaw is inherent to the process and he lied about it in order to give the Stormcast hope that a cure could be found. Also turning into a lightning gheist is a matter of when and not if. Also I don't think we're going to see Stormcast turn to chaos. What if a bunch of them try to give up the fight and return to their old lives only to be treated like monsters by their old families? This could make them to to Nagash to preserve their souls and we finally get Deathcast Eternals.
  15. It would make sense. OBR is definitely the next death faction in line for an update. Soulblight got a massive update at the end of Second edition. Nighthaunt will end up with 5 3rd edition kits and FEC just got a big update. I'm much more confident that OBR will get a second wave than I am about Fyreslayers, KO or IDK.
  16. I know this is a joke but I think we would see a very different picture if we broke it down by subfaction. Perhaps this needs to be the focus of attention going forward. Seraphon is the classic example who are both over and under performing simultaneously.
  17. Not a surprise in the slightest. AoS novels this year were all about new characters except Grombindal. Almost all the 40k books were about well known characters or from well established series. I recently finished listening to Son of the Forest. It was a decent book but there were definitely a few AoS books I preferred. I voted for Grombindal but it was a tough call to choose between that and Temple of Silence.
  18. I wonder who the lead designer on the range is. There are quite a few Skaven fans in the studio. For example these Jezzails were converted by Maxime Pastourel who was the lead designer on the Death guard project after painting his own Death guard army. It's pretty common for GW to give the design job to someone who's a fan of the faction. Steve Party designed some of the new Seraphon after converting his own army and Darren Latham, who is a massive Eldar fan, designed the new Avatar.
  19. No I think they're just saying that 2026 is for cities stuff. In any case this rumour is such an obvious reskin of all the previous tga rumours that I don't believe anything new in it for a second. It's pure guess work.
  20. Yeah. That's what I saw which made me doubt myself.
  21. Yeah I noticed that. I swore there was a preview article that said she was an Aelf, but maybe I was wrong.
  22. @Clan's Cynic If you take them in a Cities army it’s Callis and Toll and a second unit called Toll’s companions. At least that seems to be what the article is suggesting.
  23. I really hope they don’t. Also they’ve just added an elf to the cities range in the Saviours of Cinderfall box.
  24. That's either Grombindal or a new TOW Dwarf hero or both. I'm very curious what GW will do with his rules. It would be very logical to give him rules for AoS and TOW, but politics could get in the way. A decision to only do rules for one or the other could confirm the rumours we've been hearing.
  25. That rumour engine isn’t the wilder fiend. But this one is.
