  1. We received nearly no points changes for the last 3 point changes..... I think only the Bestigors got 10 points cheaper!
  2. Just thinking about it, but it is still kinda annoying, that they don't let these armies be played until the end of the edition! I mean, even if they don't have an official Battletome, GW will not release all the battletomes up until summer 2025 anyway. Also, what's SO heard to adjust the points? They could let us play with our miniatures until the of the edition even if we're under-powered rather than just cut us all-together during summer. This will mean that Beastmen (and probably Wood Elves) will be released for Old World at the latest in Summer 2025. They are probably scared that people would go buy those and make sales for old world,, just to play them in AoS. But I mean, this is really curious, since people are going to buy Old World minis for AoS anyway (and the same goes the other way around, I just saw someone playing Orks and Gobbos in Old World, using mostly Gloomspite and I think he also had some 3D-printed ork chariots, some weeks ago).
  3. You just nailed it! I am in exactly the same situation! I do not have time for 1000 different projects. I absolutely want to to play a lot too and I have 4 different choices I could make. Sylvanth, Idoneth, Seraphon, Beasts. This is how it goes: I want to paint and think about the hobby. My heart yells "BEASTS!", but then, I sit down to paint, and I am unsure to even start because I don't know if I should dare invest so much time and energy in an army that will get the axe in around a year (I am a slow painter, I take my time, even for units and simpler minis), even if that was my initial plan. I tried to settle down on Idoneth, but again, I am not confident in GW releasing the second wave in the coming year. So I either could go with Sylvaneth (which I am not 100% convinced of, I have now been waiting for Kurnothi-like elves for 10 years now.....) or Seraphon (which I love, but I do not like their playstyle that much, especially since their magic got changed quite a lot, but maybe I should wait for 4th, since Seraphon has always been kind of tricky to balance?). Aaand stuck in the spiral I am, and instead of painting and enjoying the hobby, I am just overthinking it again. The fact that there is also still a little spark there, hoping that we might get something closer to beasts or maybe event could see BoC get an overhaul in case they bring Morghur back into the setting or expand over it, does not make anything easier..... I legitimately stopped painting yesterday because I got frustrated. It is really annoying. But yes, thank you for all the answers and for the post, it's good to see that we all have our struggle sometimes and can help each other overcome these!
  4. How can you already see the page? I only get: Error 404 – All Records Expunged from Library Edit: Refreshing since you posted this, it really does not appear on the WC site, not even under "all"
  5. Or GW is not creating any incentive for people to play Legends, by making half-baked legends-rules for models and armies. I mean those are mostly either completely underpowered in terms of armies or sometimes overpowered especially when for single models. Also most are just plain boring!!! And they rarely get adjusted.......
  6. I am feeling just the same. I have a LOT of other armies I could still continue (Sylvaneth, Idoneth, Seraphon). I chose and felt the best with the BoC, even though it is my most recent project, it really was the first that REALLY vibed with me (apart from maybe Idoneth), since the end of Warhammer Fantasy. I really want to get into competitive play, and I was happy to have found a versatile army which I also liked playing (the former not being checked by Idoneth and Seraphon, Idoneth because of the lack of models, not because I do not like their playstyle, they just lack variety because of the relatively few models they have). I am now sitting here just asking myself what to do? Invest into a new army? Could do it, but I do not have THAT MUCH money either, so it would take some time for sure. If yes, which one? I was looking through all the armies (as if I didn't knew them already eh....) and none really catches my attention apart from the ones I already have and collect. Also it feels weird just buying GW stuff after they just squatted huge parts of their game (and I am still in for boycotting GW for a year)... Pause aos and get back into 40k? I could do that, but we didn't get any games of 9th Ed. through with my friends and, even tho I collect Nids and I was really hyped about the new models (I got the tyranids half of the leviathan box), I do not feel like playing 40k.....
  7. Oh Great Sphinx @Whitefang tell us more about these weird things. Is our father of corruption and master of skulls rewarding you with visions? Is it the feathered father of change whispering through the pillows, or is it something from below - or inside the walls - gnawing it's way through the veil of reality? Is it of chaotic nature? Or may it be something else entirely? Did the father of earthquakes reunite with his children? Or are chitinous mandibles slowly nibbling open their silken cocoons?
  8. This is definitely not the case. I own a LOT of now "abandonned" miniatures: The price those miniatures are trying to get sold by their owners is nearly always absolutely unimaginably high, and they do not get sold at those high prices. Just go check on ebay, a lot of miniatures that aren't produced anymore, are either: - Way too high priced and won't sell until their price drops - "pro painted" and way too high - Absolutely horribly painted and sold at a decent/low price (low if it is a REALLY badly painted model with paint slapped on it) - Okayish price a little bit more than the official price Most of the time, these overpriced miniatures do not sell well or at all. They do sell well during the first "panic" weeks, like we saw during the great squatting of WHFB and tomb kings. As someone who has been trying to get his hands on some limited editions, I can assure you, that people always try to sell those items at a random dumb value (like 200 for a limited edition battletome/codex) and then either give up or bring the price down to it's near initial GW price (maybe 10/20% margins, but it really depends, dice do seems to sell pretty well even at higher costs, miniatures definitely not always). With the difference of these never being fleshed out factions and more or less just dwelling in the lore. These never had a fleshed out battletome nor a codex. They also weren't supported and had miniatures 10 years into the game.
  9. Yes hahaha, I am sorry ! Back to the rumours! Did someone notice, that the release month is written on the warscroll of the Stormcast already? It is stated for July 2024
  10. @Tonhel I do not mean that GW is only the bad evil corporation - I respect and really admire the people who make this hobby come alive, be it under the form of miniatures, stories, events, creative content (and that goes also to us as a community). Just look at different industries, look what has changed, how they were in the past, how they are now, LOT of things go downhill in the grasp of capitalism and its pure greed for profits. Heck, the whole state of the world, of our the environment and all the inequalities are a prime example of how bad this greed and desire for more is. GW is absolutely not trying to please it's playerbase. It's treating it's playerbase absolutely horribly and has treated it badly on a lot of different occasions. The worst part: GW even gets people to agree with this bad treatment. GW deserves absolutely NO favor for what they are doing. We are paying an enormous price (be it in money and time - and with time I do not mean that it is something negative) and commit ourselves to our hobby (which is an absolutely good thing). But we owe GW absolutely nothing. Of course GW does not "owe" us anything but what is the base for a good relationship? A minimum of respect and trust. They showed us so many times that they do not give a damn thing about one or the other. GW is pushing the prices a bit higher every year (ok, we may have a relief for the first time with the prices of new boxed sets). Prices, which are in itself already too damn high! I mean, we are all joking that we are buying plastic crack, but it sometimes really feels bad to go buy some Warhammer (which may or may not land on our pile of shame dreams & opportunities anyway). If you come to me and say: "look at least the plastic is molded "locally" and they seem to have invested in a pretty good renewable energy system. That's right, I hope this isn't just greenwashing.... BUT: GW is actively exploiting it's own employees without even trying to hide this. We have enough evidence for this, be it under the form of noncredit of their artists, or other rumours like the unknown reason why the youtuber Rogue Tales quit her job at GW (of which I spoke in another post). I mean one does not simply leave a nice job at a dream company that easily, also she does not even dares to speak about what happened, so it might also have to do with underpayment. I also think that they way GW treats it's employees in shops was a a thing one time but I didn't really followed it, so you might be more aware about that than me. Not only this, they even went so far and banned everyone on youtube making any Warhammer content related videos (many being really well made and impressive mini-masterpieces of animation - which again took a lot of time and effort!) GW even dared to suck these talented content creators into their own company by proposing them to work for them. The way they did it and are doing it is absolutely disrespectful, predatory and unfair. I do not want to draw too many lines here, since it is about Miniatures. But just look at the state of online gaming (and even singleplayer games). There is more and more creativity, beauty and talent lost to the greed for profit. Just look at how standardized cash shops, overpriced cosmetics and DLC's have become in the gaming scene, how empty some released games feel (if they even are released in a playable state). I do believe that what we are seeing is definitely similar and I do not want this in my warhammer miniature hobby (I do not mean this as a general state of the miniature and tabletop industry). If we at least do not dare to have any objections to these things like squatting, we may just gonna witness the demise of our beloved own Warhammer in silence. I do not wish for a Warhammer future, where greed and profits separates the community (because of different opinions) and makes the game inaccessible for some (maybe because the costs of starting the hobby is too high). The people who care for the hobby, make these stories and miniatures and pour their love into it, are the ones who carry the Warhammer IP. If Warhammer truely is for everyone, then all I would ask GW: just make it for everyone, including your longtime fans.
  11. eally I was too! I agree with you that it was heavier than it is now. But I do not agree with this practice and I do not like GW doing this again (this time with some really modern miniatures and others who they still supported for 10 years! GW may not have the production capacity (at least not right now), but they can afford to throw in one more Battletome for another army even if not producing these miniatures or letting the specialist studio producing these. They could even rename the army and make a battletome for it! Also they shoved up stormcast into every players arms during 10 years now. Even now people do consider the upcoming releases as "relatively safe", but that is the problem "relatively" should not be a thing. They just should be safe! Of course not, but GW continues to milk its playerbase until the last drops! This is predatory monetization!
  12. I can only recommend Grey Seer, if anyone finds it second hand or in a library! I found it really good and it was a blast to read! It captures the Skaven mentality and behavior really well!!!
  13. The new rules look really cool to me! I wish I could say that I am REALLY excited, I still am, but on the other hand, I am disgusted that I'll only be able to play my BoC officially for half an edition. Part of me is still happy and excited, part of me is just very sad....
  14. Woaow, I suggest that everyone who agrees with GW absurd decision, reshuffles at least 1/4 of their army, puts all this in the cellar, and then rebuys and repaints the very same amount every second edition then! I am just sorry, but this miniature game gets a new Book every 3 years. Compared to the relatively slow change and release of the game, throwing a BIG part or the WHOLE army away every 6 years is extreme. I don't know how much money you earn, nor how much time you have, but if this is the route AoS goes I will not support the game anymore. I do already find "big" rules change every 3 years just to sell everything anew pretty extreme, since most of the rule changes are not even that big and could easily be made through some form of extensions... Also some REALLY cool additions get lost everytime a new edition starts. I remember playing a against a friend who played Daemonkin in 40K and I had a LOT of fun playing against this army. Now Daemonkin are just more or less gone! (Same applies to a lot of subfactions or extensions). Of course, the possibility to play older editions is still there! And I also get that GW has to make cash somehow. But don't forget that they definitely have a HUGE margin on their prices.
