With faction focuses beginning next week, who do yall want to see first (beside stormcast because we know they are first)
I'm hoping to see the Seraphon and Ossiarch stuff this week, especially Seraphon. I'm curious if they will keep the Cosmic Power Point summoning for the starborn in 4th and if they do, how different it will be from 3rd

Same. Based on the spearhead stuff that’s been photographed, I’m really liking the rules and where 4th is going.
Still not in the FOMO zone for the boxed set but AOS 4th edition is looking great. I’m trying my best not to go crazy getting spearhead sets and focus on what I have!
Spearhead stuff def gives me hope, I am still somewhat wary due to getting burnt by 10th ed 40k but I have a lot more hope from everything they have shown so far.

Looks like faction focuses start next week. Probably monday on stormcasts, tuesday for skavens, never for beastmen.
Excited for the faction focuses, hope they give us flavorful rules for each army

The ruination chamber models might actually get me to do a stormcast army
Hate the 1st ed and 2nd ed looks, these and the 3rd ed models look great

Yes AEW is worldwide but the biggest audience for wrestling is probably the USA, Most of the event are in the USA I believe. The owner of AEW is actual also the Owner of the Jacksonville Jaguar, an NFL football team.
AEW is like the third biggest combat sport promotion league but much smaller then both WWE and UFC.
Said Jags owner also wants to move them to England so thats something

Dream AOS game would be a stormcast focused roguelike, each of the realms as a different level and with different themed bosses for them
Classes could be the different types of stormcast and unlock cosmetics to make them look like leaders/named characters of their type of model
AOS has so much potential for games

There will be 23 battletomes come aos 4, 24 if IJ and KB are split. The edition will have 12 quarters, leaving the last 2 or 3 free for end of edition campaign stuff then there should be at least 2 battletomes per quarter if they want to get them all out. I expect q3 this year to be skaven + stormcast. Q4 will probably only be 2 books also. But I think 2025 we'll see most of the books done by end of the year which is like 3 books per quarter. If we see a roadmap it'll be the first 4 books, and then they give us the grand alliance of the first book for next year or something. Maybe not at this showcase but whenever they show off the non launch box skaven and stormcast stuff.
Great stuff, yea this is 99% likely to be what happens i think
Should have specified in my post that I dont expect there to be any huge quarters like this one was with 40k having 5 codexes

With how backed up and messed up their production lines are rn, I think they will still release a roadmap still but it wont be anywhere near as aggressive. Maybe 2 battletomes per quarter max, wouldnt be surprised to see a quarter with only 1 dropping.

For the faction focus articles do we think it will be...
Mon - Friday
Order>Chaos>Death>Destruction>Order
until we run out of Death and Destruction factions and have to add more Chaos/Order factions?... I really hope Death and Destruction get some more factions.Agreed on more death and destruction factions
Gimme cannibal halflings who act like the tyranids in 40k and devour everything like a swarm and work with ogors sometimes- 2

The audacity of GW canning Longstrike and Badrukk in the only just released codexes then doing a made to ordering for them 😂. Absolute wads.
Dawnbringers 6 is starting to feel like a group hallucination at this point lol. Production must be choking up hard while they prep for 4th launch. Must be stressful in the ol' sprue mine over there right now.Oh yeah Dawnbringers 6, I ate it, was hungry sorry

A lot to consider with this question.
From my own perspective as a selfish player: Please put two of the factions I already play in the starter so I can get their models for cheap. Awaiting Cities vs. OBR for 5th, please and thank you. But of course, that's not what the question is really about.
I don't know that Stormcast have to be in every starter box like Space Marines have to be. AoS is not quite that polarized. For what it's worth, I think they have been doing a good job making Stormcast cooler with every starter, to the point that I will probably get into the army in 4th. So I don't feel the releases have been a waste. But it's a well known problem that the Stormcast range is bloated right now. Let's see if the upcoming index can fix that. But even if, I think that is a problem to be conscious of, and I think the AoS guys at GW are conscious of it. They are redoing some old kits this time around, after all.
I will defend Stormcast as being the best "default starter" faction out of all the factions that are currently in the game. It makes sense, since they were purpose-built for it. Big dudes, elite, easy to paint (getting easier, in fact, compared to the old Fatcast). Overall pretty cool guys, especially if you are into the superhuman divine warrior trope. But their fluff is actually interesting beyond that, as well.
I play Cities and I love them. They are currently my favourite AoS army. But they would be a bad starter faction. Too intricate models, of which you need too many to field an army. Cool in a downtrodden way, which not everyone likes. And the army rules are really atypical, too.
In my opinion, until they design another easy to paint, elite faction with wide appeal, Stormcast need to stick around in the starter. But I don't think that faction necessarily needs to be GA: Order. I could imagine something like Slaves to Darkness taking the spot. However, that still leaves open the question of who to pair them with, if not Stormcast. Certainly not Cities, IMO, unless the next Cities release looks quite different from the current one. And the other Order factions don't really have main-character energy.
Seraphon aren't the hardest to paint, so they could be stuck in a box

White Dwarf 500 comes out in a few weeks and I’m sure it will have some info on the Skaven’s activity as well

I hope they keep the big hats and the cool beards for the chaos duardin, I loved that design choice
-
Wonder how seraphon index is gonna work, since they only got 4 factions in 3rd: 2 constellations each for starborn and coalesced
Really hoping they keep the CPP system in 4th, the idea of summoning big magic space dinos in the opponents backline never fails to fill me with joy
-
Yay 4 sub factions with the index, so much better than 40k 10th

Tyrion side and nation is suppose to be Phoenix theme.
of course I do feel that once CoS get their second wave that will be it for a long time. There often a finite amount of units you can add to an army and most non posterboy armies will just chug along with the single hero release for many editions. Armies getting constant expansion outside of marine is rare
Forgot about Tyrion being phoenix stuff, was thinking on the CoS of Pheonicium or whatever it is called. I wouldnt be surprised to see the 2nd wave be human focused and like you said after that just be one or two units here and there, possibly using that for the elves and dwarves in CoS.

With a bit of luck GW will listen to their community and in 5-6 years (based on their working timings) we will have a wave with diversity for CoS.
I think they will likely flesh out the diversity after the human stuff and the factions for the non humans in it are fleshed out
For example, with lumineth being a thing now, I wouldn’t be surprised if wave 2 or later wave included phoenix guard or other high elf themed units

Looks fun, cant wait til 4th drops so I can get my first AoS game under my belt

Do we think Bonesplitterz and Beasts of Chaos are getting reworked?
Based on the regiments system i think its plausible that we could be getting them back some day as regiments instead of a subfaction. Bonesplitterz could get a hero + 2 or 3 units that can be slotted into either Ironjawz or Kruleboyz. The same could be said for Beasts and can be slotted into any Chaos army. It think it actually fits their lore too.
This way GW can still do the micro armies they always wanted without having to commit to a whole army + tome system and years of support that helps with limited warehouse space.
Beasts of Chaos, yes, bonesplitterz, no
BoC can easily be reworked into something like Children of Morghur and be all about mutation and chaotic creation ooze type stuff, lots of unique potential there and AOS loves doing their own unique thing. If anything does happen for them it’ll likely be in 6th or 7th ed
Bonesplitterz are just too similar to TOW orks, so I dont foresee them coming back in any form with Gork and Mork covered in warclans with Ironjawz and Kruleboyz
If anything happens with destruction it’ll probably be a new faction

Was planning on doing Ossiarch as my next army but with all those lovely warcry bands going looks like its slaves to darkness instead, ill just proxy them for other things

Warhammer quest? no there was Valrak rumors of a space hulk remake but that went full silent for so long
When Warcry does move I do hope it nowhere located in Aqshy or Ghyran but rather in anywhere else where we can feel the Edition big event; the Vermindoom can be felt everywhere. With the whole Blight city bursting into reality they could do a sorta spiritual successor to Mordheim and have the season be set in a devastated Free city
maybe even gave multiple CoS warbands go up against Skaven, Slaanesh & other?like look below the artwork and tell me that you can picture that with how the edition going go offas for the Talaxis it strange that there no massive finale to the Gnarlwood saga in Warcry, no battle inside the actual Eye of Chotec, No Arno Talaxis return as a Ghoul or Chaos or just a straight up CoS warband, no revelation of it crash nothing. We end it with Bone doggos fighting a sprite revenant with weeds. I know that sorta happen with the Varanspire but it just stick out more when you have two specialist game explore the jungle and then does nothing especially when Hunter v Hunted was building up to the rumbling and WyrdHollow was talking about the Realmshaper going nuclear. Maybe the Beastgrave getting nuked spoiled my expectation for Specialist game finales
Maybe the city that will fall in the dawnbringers series could be a successor to mordheim?

I'd much prefer a quick and easy-to-learn game to a perfectly balanced one. People are always going to view things as imbalanced anyway.
100% agreed, 40k’s focus on the competitive scene and making everything about balance kinda ruined it for me

The store page for BoC is empty except for tzaangors, chaos spawn, and chaos gargants so I don't think they will be getting one
