  1. Warhammer fest was most likely a one off or a trail to see if they were going to make it a yearly thing. It was also the big release of Thier flagship IP and AOS Isn't popular enough to warrant a big expensive live event. I went last year, and it wasn't that great, aside from tournaments there wasn't a whole lot to do over 3 days, loads of unused empty space, the seminars had ques going into other rooms with people queuing an hour early to get in, and people were just taking stuff without paying from the shop. Saw a guy grab 6 packs of the objective markers and just walk off.
  2. Hopefully that means we will get proper seige rules to go with it.
  3. Probaly just easier to animate a expressionless mask for a quick scene, then some guys angry face.
  4. I'm liking the Valkyire/ Ancient greek vibe with them, with the "Grimdark" chainmail and tassles. They look miles better then the old chunky ones and don't look like they will fall over when placed on a slight incline. going off this and the last few boxes that means the tormcast side of the box will be. The lord of big bird (as the centre piece model) 1 0r 2 foot heroes 10 Liberators 3 of those dudes with shields 3 prosecutors "MAYBE" some ranged unit of 5. Skaven will probaly be Claw lord on the rat monster the big Rat Ogre the leaked heavy weapon Warlock engineer with Rife Warplock Jezzails 40 Clanrats Another unkown hero.
  5. 85!!! 85 for the darktide game!!!!! The game better be amazing to justify that price for 9 models and some card pieces.
  6. Sell scrap to humans. Stab humans in the back. Take back scrap. Profit.
  7. I still think the spider fang are in the danger zone of being squatted from GSG, as they are present in the old world, and GW hates you being able to use models in two separate games. If they get an updated model of some kind, or a revamp then they are completely safe and the current models will get siloed off into the Old World. If they don't then they will probably go the way of Bonesplittaz.
  8. Silent People were never going to be a releash of any kind imo. They were always background fluff to add some depth to the lore like the fish people in WHFB were. Chorfs i reckon will be next year as a big army release, and Malerion will probaly come as a revamped edition to DOK around the same time Tyrion and the rest of the Lumieth will appear, as the contuination of the WHFB rivalry has been hinted at strongly in aos.
  9. Theres always a disconnect between the lore and the tabletop and for the sake of rules balance and gameplay thats probaly for the best. Stormcast are literally fully covered in enchanted armour, so random goblins with sticks, steelhelm swords, skeleton spears, Dryad Stick hands and hell, even Darkoath swords should just slide off the armour. Some Goblin swinging a sword at a Ghost should do absolutly nothing, but that would just ruin balance in the game.
  10. It looks to be a simply way at identifying units and thier roles. Standard Kroxigors are alredy better at taking out hordes of infantry whilst warspawned are better at taking out more elite units or monsters, so all this does is bake a couple of key words into thier warscrolls. I'm all for this tbh, and I like the more specialised unit direction they seem to be going in. I'm hoping that they keep a couple of all rounders though. Stone trolls should hit hard against anything, be able to take a hit, but be slow and "stupid" andf maybe struggle against mass hordes. I hate battleshock to, so I'm glad its going away and that retreat is now a thing. If its implemented well then it should make the big moshpits and multi unit combat way more interesting.
  11. Remember how when 10th Edition 40k released there was that narrative campaign where player would decide who won between the Ultramarines and Tyranids fighting over that planet? I reckon Helcrown will be 4th editions version of that. Will Helcrown fall to the Skaven or will the stormcast drive them back? You decide!! (Only £120)
  12. They would probably fit pretty well with the Cities of Sigmar units, which is probably intentional.
  13. I like the new gothic Dark Fantasy style for these stormcast, but I do kind of agree. I really enjoyed the Romano-Greek art deco aesthetic of some of the early AOS art, and it's a shame to see some of it phased out. The old decorated bases and 1ed terrain is all gone now. That being said, the dark fantasy visuals alongside that does work very well, even If it's partially die to the success of games like Elden ring and Dark souls.
  14. If the Horns of Hashut are the direction the AOS Chaos Dwarfs will be going in, then I thier design will be leaning into a more industrial/ West Asian style rather then the fire, Babylonian and corrupted dwarf style from the Old world. Having a load of fire motifs would mean they class to much and almost visually become a dark version of the Fyreslayers, which unless thats the direction GW want to take them, from a marketing and "casual entry player" perspective they clash too much. Hopefully they keep the old theme, where you take a smaller force of Chaos dwarfs and loads of worthless hobgrots chaff. That would allow to play a small elite army of just dwarfs, a mix of dwarfs and hobgrot servants or a massive swarm of chaff whos job it is to die whilst the elite artillery and weapons tae out the big threats. Imo if its the like the first Lumineth release, they will get 4 heroes, a battleline dwarfs unit, hobgrot chaff, an arty peice, some elite heavy infantry and a centrepeice unit. The rest would come out a year or two later.
  15. A Marvel style Multiverse for warhammer would honesty be really lame.
