  1. On the other hand at least the design studio will actively balance points throughout the edition now, I just hope the aos team do a better job of balancing than the 40k team have been this edition.
  2. I did think it was weird that the recent seraphon wave didn't have a behemoth or big centrepiece kit, do we think Kroak was supposed to come in the later wave or are they holding something back?
  3. if Malerion isn't coming anytime soon then I do hope DoK get a release wave for themselves, they could use some more big models outside of morathi and the cauldron
  4. I did think old blood or eternity warden, but the RE feels too unarmoured/unadorned for a hero
  5. thinking of mtg for inspiration, a leonin faction would fit destruction very well, wouldn't be to everyone's tastes for sure but I think it'd be really cool
  6. cathay goes heavy on the dragons so just a move away from that would be a good start. Although I'll be honest I don't think we're seeing Cathay anytime soon for TOW
  7. I'd love to see vampire pirates but NH already have a ghost boat so idk if that's too much crossover
  8. I think it'd be fine to see humans in death or destruction, order doesn't need more factions over everyone else but I there's design space for more mortals.
  9. the ogre kingdoms come from the whfb equivalent of mongolia was my understanding. I feel like I'm not alone in that I could not tell you what a middle ages cossack looked like so that's probably why people jump to mongolia
  10. Ogors already have the mongolian aesthetic really, it'd be cool to instead see a different Asian mythological inspiration, there are loads of cool creatures and aesthetic styles we don't see represented as much.
  11. they do specifically say these changes are all for "the path to glory: ascension battlepack" so presumably we'll see more path to glory battlepacks that might focus on maintaining territory over enhancing units.
  12. I really wish the lumineth spearhead wasn't just all infantry, I'd definitely be tempted if it had the ballista or some cavalry.
  13. the launch box contents will probably be the 2 spearheads + an extra unit or two for each faction, like with leviathan, or they drop the extra unit sprue in favour of terrain like some have suggested. In the spearhead article, they don't call the existing SCE spearhead the SCE spearhead, they call it Yndrasta's spearhead. Edit: nevermind they outright stated there will be terrain in the launch box, so it's probably just 2 spearhead forces.
  14. I thought that was the whole point though, that many darkoath used to be sigmarites. It's the whole 2 sides of the same coin thing, they had chaos marauders and tribesmen in wfb too though I don't know old world lore that well
  15. maybe they'll get a faction ability that allows all Khorne units to attempt to banish manifestations as a once per turn action or something like that
  16. I expect there'll be a multipart kit like the annihilators in 3rd, with full masks and different poses
  17. I like this approach more than the full walls in KT, the modular walls don't fit together well, or at least my box didn't. Also less scenery to paint without compromising gameplay
  18. gryph chargers and their related species all have been so it makes sense
  19. I doubt it but an aos game like that would be great. You could follow the same formula but build around different classes, stormcast questor, wildercorps hunter, KO thunderer, IDK isharann wizard
  20. I'm ngl I don't think many people have bought them since they're £35 each, and I don't know anyone that plays crusade. There were significant lore developments in both though I heard. I think they're written to be faction agnostic for the rules portion but it definitely feels to me like they're intended to be played with imperium vs tyranids or imperium/admech vs necrons but idk the actual campaign rules in them
  21. there was one with the launch book and then another with the first 2 codexes at the end of the year I think
  22. Outside of the discount, local stores always just have a nicer atmosphere imo, official GW store staff feel very overbearing at times. For some reason the local GW store for me stopped hosting gaming and painting sessions for non beginners which sucks. Also as a mtg player it's nice to have one store/community to deal with for everything, I imagine it's the same for people who play other games too.
  23. I think it'd be cool to see a grot faction that interacts with cities more, aside from just stealing their glass bottles like GSG. Kinda like star wars jawas where they pick up battlefield debris and sell it back to humans.
  24. I'm decidedly not a fan of the emperor's new backstory in the heresy with there being multiple perpetuals as people from Earth's history. Another recent thing was the shift in timeline of events, where they initially in 8th kinda brushed over the indomitus crusade but then jumped back and put the plague wars further into the future.
  25. It would've been worse if they made it into a big performance of "look how progressive we are", as a retcon, warhammer lore gets and has gotten retconned constantly, it's definitely a much bigger deal than people are making it out to be. Even if you do care, they're your toy soldiers just don't have them be women who cares.
