  1. I think because the reveal date event is a couple weeks later than leviathan was they are just filling time with the drip feed
  2. With the prosecutors coming in a group of 3 this starts framing up some more speculation surrounding the contents of the launch box on the Stormcast side. Dominion ---------------- New Launch Box 10x Vindictors - 10x Liberators 3x Annihilators - 3x Reclusians 3x Praetors - 3x Prosecutors Left unmatched compared to what we think may be coming Yndrasta - Hammer Hero From Artwork Leaks Lord-Imperatant - Raven Mounted Leader Knight Arcanum - I am going to guess a Knight ranked cater of some kind Knight Vexillor - I am going to guess a Knight Azyros What do you think would round out this box?
  3. I'm thinking we are more in line with 21 models same as dominion 10x Liberators - (Balanced BY 10x Vindictors in Dominion) 3x Prosecutors - (Balanced By 3x Praetors) 3x Ruination Bladeguard - (Balanced By 3x Annihilators) Ravenclaw Mounted Lord - (Balanced By Yndrasta) Book Cover Lord - (Balanced By Lord Imperitant) 2x Knight Heroes - (Balanced By Knight Arcanum & Knight Vexilor) if we end up going larger in number I think it will be through making the x3 Ruination Chamber Characters a x5 group like you would most paladin groups (hence maybe we get to 23 models)(if we went 26 or 27 then I'd think that prosecutors become a unit of 6 and that Lord on the front of the book gets a griffhound)
  4. Someone in the rumors thread pointed out that there are 8 kits in the leviathan launch box for both nids and SM So in the launch box I think we could see.... From the Video: Thunderstrike Liberators (Unit of 10) Thunderstrike Prosecutors (Unit of 5) Ruination Leader (Lord Rank) On (Ravengriphon?) Mount (Ruination Chamber) (Single Model) Ruination Infantry (I Think These Are Our Paladin Equivalent) (Ruination Chamber) (Unit of 3) Not In The Video Foot Leader/Character From The Book Cover (Named Hero) (Ruination Chamber) (Single Model) A Knight Rank Character (Ruination Chamber) (Single Model) Thunderstrike Judicators (Unit of 5) Following Wave Of Models Thunderstrike Knight Azyros/Venator Thunderstrike Paladins Kit That Builds The Ruination Infantry or other variations Thunderstrike Lord Veritant/Lord Castellant/Lord Celestant Kit Thunderstrike Dualists (dual wield swords) Ruination Calvary Ruination Ranged Ruination Chamber Leader Half Way Through 4th Edition (Vanguard Rework) Thunderstrike Paladors Thunderstrike Vanguard Raptros Thunderstrike Vanguard Hunters Thunderstrike Lord Aqular
  5. I'm not sure about etiquette but do I get to do a partial victory lap on these predictions??? I think I hit about 80 percent on the dates and makeup of everything.....
  6. How much you wanna bet we don't get rat god avatar in launch box. It will come like norm emissaries separate as large centerpiece models to add on with 2-3 different builds
  7. Just wanted a place to let us throw wild speculation about how these Stormcast might be different for 4th edition. I'm gonna kick it off for us. Launch Box Leader/Hero: Vandus Hammerhand - Im hoping Vandus gets a new model. Something big beefy and unique. (although I feel like they are going to do this much like they would do the primarchs from 40k). (Same way I feel they will do an Ascended Khul similar to what they did angron) Lord: Updated Lord Relictor - I feel like they are going to be more present in the ruination chamber ask keepers of those who are on their last reforging. Knight: Something new - I like the idea again that its a role centered around keeping the ruination stormcasts in line Unit of 10: Thunderstrike Liberators Unit of 3: Lightning Prosecutor Variant Unit of 3: Dualists I'm hoping they have an astetic to them along the lines like the relictor. Skull shaped helms and would love black armor with gold accents like Ionus has in his artwork! let me know what you want to see!
  8. For Skaven vs Stormcast - In the Dawnbringers Story: The Mechanisms of Ruin. One of the warlocks creates what could be considered a soul destroying weapon..."When the warpstone core is attuned to a piece of Queelum’s body, an attached warhead will become attuned to Queelum’s soul-scent. Its blast will annihilate his very essence!" So what if the skaven have created weapons that also destroy a stormcasts soul when killing them. So Sigmars answer to this is pragmatic. Why have soldiers with multiple reforgings left get their soul disintegrated, when you can crack open the ruination chamber and use a bunch of stormcast who are on their last reforging. effective spending of resources will be the reason. And I think I still maintain that we are headed to chamon for 4th, its the best place to introduce the Chorfs and renew the Skaven, BoC, Ogres, fyreslayers. Everything will be built around war machines, all of which fit these faction updates. Malareon and Slannesh and ulgu will end up waiting until 5th edition or be part of the transition to 5th
  9. OK Here We Go! I reviewed the lead up to adepticon and leviathan from last year here is what I think we can expect these coming weeks. Buckle up we are in for a whirlwind of reveals! Weeks Leading Up To Adepticon March 11th last year (Arks of Omen): Vashtor Pre-order - This Year March 9th (Dawnbringers): Krethusa Pre-order March 12th last year (Leviathan Tease 1): Echoes from the warp - This Year March 10th or 11th 4th Edition Tease 1 March 20th last year (Leviathan Tease 2): The shadows clear - This Year March 18th 4th Edition Tease 2 Adepticon Last Year - Leviathan Reveal, Kill Team Reveal, (Arks of Omen): Lion El Johnson Reveal This Year - 4th Edition Reveal, Warcry Dual Box Reveal (I am personally hoping for Kurnothi & Ossiarch like in the dawnbringers story)(Interchangable with underworlds reveal), Dawnbringers 6 Reveal with lady of ruin & Korghus Khul Ascended *Hot take: Khuls ascension to demonhood will be the bridging model for the stories end like kragnos was heading in to 3rd Others Last year - in the weeks leading up to adepticon there were also a reveals for necromunda, and boarding patrols. This year - this could mean reveals for underworlds (Interchangable with war cry), and the spearheads boxes leading up to adepticon this year After Adepticon Last Year March 25th: Arks of Omen: Tau Preorder This Year March 23rd: Darkoath Army Preorder I honestly believe they will follow the format of last year's Adepticon lead up. Id put money on this. Let's see if my logic holds firm! Who is with me!
  10. Do the skulls on that banner not match the skull on the second RE bottle?
  11. I recently did a tracking of the last year of GW releases of AOS and 40k to get an idea of how this year could stack up for Dawnbringers ⅘ releases and the lead in to 4th and when we can expect things when compared to how GW rolled out all the info for leviathan and onward. Prior to LVO: Early Jan had a review of Arks of Omen (AoO) Abandon which I believe was book 1 of their 5 and their 40k version of dawnbringers. As well as some boarding patrol reveals which I believe is the comparison for the AOS spearheads. This puts us a little ahead of where 40k was at this time as we have already had dawnbringers 3 for quite a while. At LVO Reveal of a box set for Vashtorr which was book 3 and we are ahead of this timeline for AOS which is why we've probably been totally dry on reveals. Also a small reveal for new units for space marines as well For this LVO I bet we get the model reveals for the Death faction regiments of renown and any adjacent new heroes that come with them (similar to the harbinger releases) Then I believe we will get a teaser of the darkoath but not a major reveal (either the new unit OR the new hero as a tease for Dawnbringers 5. Warcry Lumineth vs Nighthaunt feels super likely and Underworlds has all kinds of options. The cat however makes me think of CoS because of how many humans use cats to detect death. I think thematically this can fit along side the “grave robbers” tag that has been linked to the underworlds reveal recently. After LVO (Feb) Leading up to Warhammer World Open (Early March) Multiple new boarding patrols and combat patrol boxes were being revealed. (again this ties things to the likely new revamps of the vanguard boxes in favor of spearheads) Review of book 3 lore for At Warhammer World Open Reveal for Book for of Arks of Omen book 4 (Here we will get the initial previews for dawnbringers book 5 and probably more reveals related to what realm we may be headed to next) After Warhammer World Open (Early March) Leading up to Adepticon (Late March) Echoes from the warp very first tease towards leviathan happens here. This is when we should get the first teases for 4th. More boarding patrols At Adepticon (Late March) Lion el johnson reveal and Arks of omen book 5 occur here (anticipate the full dawnbringers 5 reveal here, my guess if Khul ascended will happen either here or as a parallel to the kragnos reveal afterwards on our way to 4th edition. Leviathan reveal (all our patience should get rewarded with at least a 4th edition cinematic here) At Warhammer Fest (Late April) Leviathan box contents revealed After Warhammer Fest (May) Announcement for battle for oghrim which was their player influenced meta story, and some new units for 4th revealed for the factions that won't be found in the launch box.
  12. I would be in favor of more than one realm at a time. but i do feel the scope can get wayyy too out there if you just open it wide up. I think 2-3 realms at a time would be solid.
  13. Hot Take, Neferata and the legion of blood will be the new death army in the 5th edition launch box. New model for her and new Vampire soldiers (i am still thinking that the realm of ulgu will be setting for 5th) a land with mysteries, political intrigue, and spycraft. Things Neferata excells at.
  14. I think we are going to end up in Chamon for 4th and that the umbraneth are going to get the FEC treatment as a major narrative faction release in a lead up to Ulgu for 5th in 2026. I think the order or range refresh and changes would go as follows. 2024 - Most likely a 4th launch with a Skaven Refresh (although part of me thinks we might be getting hugely swerved as GW does like to do new factions in their release boxes, so i'm either thinking this is a plant and we could get Chorfs, or more than likely this will feature a skaven clan that we haven't seen much of represented in the models yet. much like kruleboyz was a branch expansion of orruk warclans) 2025 - 1 refresh (most likely a BoC or an Ogres) and 1 new faction launch (Chorfs) 2026 - 1 refresh (Boc or Ogre whichever is left), and 1 new faction launch (Umbraneth). I feel like we are getting them headed into 5th because for narrative purposes. There will be other small range releases. in addition to these larger refreshes and new ranges, but I think that with 4th being the focus of order vs chaos there are other faction releases that will take precedence over Umbraneth. 2026 we will get them (cities of sigmar style) and the narrative will flow into them leading us through the next version of what dawnbringers is to us now. Leading the SCE into conflict with a new Death faction in the launch box of 5th in Ulgu. You then have 3 years to build lore for Ulgu and a year to tease plot points about it.
  15. Here's a fun question. If bonesplitterz get squatted, and you could replace them with something new or an updated version of bonesplitterz.... Which would you choose, how would you do it and why?
  16. Respectfully I think that I view this differently. I think we have had many “beastial” releases throughout the edition, and that the main narrative of “beast” centric model releases has been shown throughout the edition. Kruleboyz with Vulcha, Skumdrek, Marshcrawla, Gnashtoof, Beast Skewer Killa Bow, Breka boss on Murebrute Troggoth Stormcast with Stormdrake Guard, Krondys, Karazi Krondspine Incarnate Sylvaneth Spiterider Lancers/Revenant Seekers (these are the first mounted units for sylvaneth) Centurion Marshal King Brogg UNderworlds Gnarlspirit Pack Ogroids for S2D Ogre Bloodpelt Hunter Snarlfang Riders Squig Boss with Gnasha-Squig Boc Beast Lord (But i don't count this as it is the obligatory accompanying hero with a new battletome) Claws of Kharanak Seraphon Range Refresh (entire range release is super apt for era of the beast) Royal Beastflayers Braggit Trugg Moar Grunta Ironjawz Refresh being pig themed Wildercorpt Hunters Gorger Mawpack Kruleboyz Monsta-Killaz Vulkyn Flameseekers Tahlia Vedra Ionus Belthanos I would heavily argue the FEC refresh is also beastial by nature In addition to all of these there are arguments to be made that even a number of the non beast/destruction themed releases (meaning new models) are themed around responses to the era of the beast, not just adding beastial units themselves). (Errant questors having fur cloaks much like the gen 1 vanguard units and expanding the variety of stormcast beastmarks)(realmgore ritualist, or chosen of dromm for khorn) And we still have some more to come through the rest of dawnbringers before we can call this list capped. I do feel that thematically GW does slant their releases to these kind of narratives for each edition.
  17. Ok with Chorfs all but confirmed and skaven in the launch box. This steers my thinking about what realm we are in for 4th and I think about some clues from dawnbringers as well. So this is my semi logical hot take for not only 4th but a little of 5th 4th will be set in Chamon, what leads me to think this is as follows. 1st Skaven and Chorfs being all but confirmed in this edition I think we see a reimagining of skaven engineering, and we showcase clan skryer and their allies clan moulder. Doom wheels, Jezzails, Warpfire throwers, ratling guns, rat ogres, pack masters and all kinds of other options to showcase a revitalized skaven line. 2nd Chorfs and industry fitting into Chamon are completely hand in hand and make far more sense to be revealed here. Remember this is order vs chaos in 4th edition. This can be showcased in contrast to the skyports of the KO and there is the greyfyrd lodge of the FS. 3rd in the battle between bael-grimnir and trugg, he falls through the portal on truggs back which is glowing gold (magic color of chamon), and the gold magic is burning at the ends of his limbs. I think this is the major foreshadowing to the next realm we are headed to. Also nothing identifies where Trugg wakes up at night, I think he was transported to chamon along with those in his immediate vicinity. I think the (Blessed by blood- dawnbringers story) takes place as Khuls band is slaughtering countless fireslayers and troggoths, which I think is the battle that is being fought between trugg and bael. The fact that Trugg woke up at night and hasn't had his skull taken. I think he is somewhere else. With this theme comes the advent of new war machines for multiple other factions. My mind runs wild with these. - Stormcast: Something with lore almost akin to the dreadnoughts in 40k. Stormcast who have been stripped so far of their humanity they have one final reforging. They are placed in a part mechanized shell that is powered by their souls (not as huge as dreadnoughts but let's say they come in units of 2 game wise) They do not feel, they do not question, a grim final fate for those collected by Ionus until a cure for the flaws in reforging can be found. I think this is where a Vandus reimagining comes in. He is killed by khul for khul to ascend and he is claimed by ionus to this new fate. - Cities of Sigmar wave 2: new cannon units, steam tanks, maybe some small cogforts (i like the idea of a cogfort being a hero centerpiece unit for an army on the table). - Fyreslayers/KO: Small mech suits, or alchemic replacements for severed limbs like bael-grimnir has. With a reintroduction of him with a new hero model. And Chamon is also home to some groups we have talked about who can get a refresh or additional unit waves: Tzeentch features heavily in this realm and would benefit from armored troops, FEC are here for wave 2, Ogors can get their line revamped with new armored shock troops, sylvanth have the ironbark glade here, and this i think is also the perfect setting for a BoC refresh as well. Malareons first wave of a reveal comes later into the edition at the beginning of year 3 in the year lead up to 5th THEN going to ulgu for 5th. Ulgu is a much better setting to continue the rotation of order vs (insert faction here). We are due for death in 5th and the realm of shadows seems to be a mcuh more apt setting for this. You can have malerions return in 4th set the stage narratively to inform the next wave of stormcast we will inevitably get to replace the sacrosanct models, and have them face a new or new branch of an existing death faction. There are more chorfs here for a wave 2 early on, you can expand on slannesh, morathi and malerions forces. We also know way more about Chamon than Ulgu, and we have another full edition to ramp up lore about Ulgu. Now this all being said there is no reason these locations couldn't be flipped for the editions. This is just what I feel makes sense narratively. Combined with my fanciful thoughts of unit creations. I hope it sparks some fun thoughts.
  18. The only way I could see them squatting the faction (which is possible) and maintaining the beastmen presence in the lore (which I hope) is to maybe send all of the models down to ToW and do a re-release of the different typed of GORS for the primary chaos factions. A large presence of BoC in books and lore, consistently has them attached as vanguard forces in larger chaos armies. So move the majority of the line down, and then we could see them reintroduced in AOS as follows. S2D = Bestigors Reimagined Nurgle = Pestigors new release Slannesh = Slaangor Reimagined Khorn = Khorngors new release Tzeentch = Tzaangors updated Then you could look at creating unique looks for each of these different versions (I saw a TW3 mod that make Khorngors have more lion/wolf like heads kind of what we saw on the khorn head on the new demon prince model). Then you can create leaders for each of these groups. It gives the chaos forces the ability to present units of mortals, demons, and beasts to create even more variety in their army lists. Especially if you treat the groups as regiments of renown within the factions.
  19. Zealots be out here burning people! Not uncommon in Cities of Sigmar. If i'm correct, quite common in Glymmsforge. Or perhaps a warcry group from Aqshy?
