I didn't realise the starter set didn't have magic dice. That is weird. It's not too much of a setback though because you can just use regular D6 (or one of the existing combat dice) as long as you agree which symbol means which. Honestly, if you're good with competitive boardgames already and you don't mind a bit of mental load, go with the Wydhollow set like Gitzdee suggested. There is a new starter set with Sequitors coming out soon though. If you've not played a lot of these kind of games before, then this might be a better option. The game doesn't feel too complex once you know how to play, but I find it has a steep learning curve. It is a fantastic game though so I hope it works out for you.

I need to play more games of this, but the two I've already played did feel pretty easy. Everyone feels super mobile so you can get from one side of the map to the other pretty easily. This meant we were virtually clearing the board every turn and most of the enemies didn't get a chance to fight back. At one point I thought we were misinterpreting the rules and we took a break to watch some lets plays to make sure we were doing it right. I do enjoy the mechanics (dice management is fun) though so I definitely wanna keep going with it.

Hi everyone, pleased to meet you. I've been looking for an AoS community that's not WhatsApp/Discord/Reddit based to call home and this place looks like it's just what I'm looking for! I play Stormcast Eternals and I have a burgeoning Skaven force that I've had since Fantasy Battle and that I've only finished rebasing recently. Currently playing about once every week or two, alongside Underworlds, Warcry and Aeronautica Imperialis. Looking forward to participating in the community and getting to know you all.
