I'd say starcraft was. Also ya no way they would have a 2nd line of models for all the armies. Many can just use the aos models as whatever they need but with the new larger bases. The rest, a few new models to round out the old stuff. Sf

to be fair, some are wretched... the old lizardmen cold one riders are an abortion to model sculpts. no idea how those designs got through. it would have been better IMHO to just get forgeworld or something to make more expensive but nicer sculpts if they couldnt do it. I still dont beleive it wasnt possible to make better designs in that era in plastic. they are just SOOOO bad. SF

i thought it was stated kislev, cathay will be later -- like 2-3 years after ToW launches... i thought GW said that at the last convention Q&A or something so they are coming. just not right now SF

hmm. havent we seen all the seraphon/lizard stuff now for who knows how long? 1 and 3 look necron. the last one ork or those new 40k dwarves/ppl .. blanking on name. 2nd looks like the head of an arachnarok. SF

Love what it says for lizardmen assuming this is accurate. With them knowing TOW IA coming it doesn't make sense to, for example, make a plastic slann that can't be used in both. Now base size and if they can be in the 2nd rank of temple guard will be interesting to see. As someone before said, hoping for plastic larger dinos, new temple guard (that fit both aos and tow), and resin mazdamundi. I really want a plastic or resin green knight. I imagine that would sell even for those that don't play TOW. Certainly many high level/contest painters would have fun with that. Love the paladin sf

Which makes sense but isn't that always true. Take seraphon/lizards. You don't need the new slann. You can still use the old one. Got 50 cold ones? Use a base insert and don't buy the new aggradons, etc. There will always be people who will spend as little as possible and they need ppl to just start the game immediately but you do need brand new updates and new showpiece to really drive sales. Also, I can't imagine there won't be a way to use aos models in tow. It makes no business sense. You want as many buying models as possible. So for those that don't play aos what's to make them want to buy those models? (Not counting pure painters) Even some other companies started to advertise their models can be used for d&d in the huge dnd resurgence with 5e. Who cares what dragon they buy tp use as a red dragon, as long as its from your company. Sf

Agreed. They need new models and also examples or accessories like base inserts to help use sigmar models in TOW. Another issue is if they just re-release the old models, many ppl who want to play TOW may already have them. Gw is a model company first. They need ppl to buy models. I don't see hype to buy models from 10-20 years ago. Especially not some of the derpy looking models in some of the armies. Sf

i hope the tail feathers are optional on the new lizard mounts. be annoying to have to cut it and resculpt the tails. SF

im hoping the seraphon stuff (including kroak) can be used for The Old World although not sure how to get slann/kroak to be ranked into a protected group with how elaborate their bases are...espec kroak. slann maybe just have it floating higher on a square base. SF

at 1:22:20 of the twitch stream, on the upper left - - new large tyranid monster? overall, bit underwhelmed. the new krox i like for the most part. actually dont like the 2nd build design for them. the heads look - strange. prefer the default. the new mounts - not a fan of the tails. like the design of the scar vet one. i wonder if that model is part of the box or a solo hero kit. Overall on the range - nothing, IMHO, that really screams OMG i gotta have that even if i dont play warhammer etc (maybe the slann), but nice range. (adding in addition the chameleons from warcry) I'll be getting the krox, chameleons, the scar vet on the new mount for sure, some saurus and the slann. Will have to see what happens in TOW to decide what to do next. regards SF
