I was really slow last month, so the Kroxigors (2 of 3) are still on the table in November. If I can finish these, I intend to work on the Realmshaper.

I've just played Warcry for the first time and the game is awesome. GW should definitely work with what they have, as the system can definitely carry a Mordheim-style expansion (if needed).

I don't like him (to say the least), but to be fair it's not entirely his fault - the whole early Stormcast line should be forgotten ASAP. As for his release date... he is worse then many WHFB End Times models and after him we quickly get stuff based on similar concept that makes him look like some design mistake.

Maybe he should... but as long as his in-game representation looks like this, he should suffer.

I think GW knows very well that they sell gaming pieces and not little marvellous sculptures. People tend to exaggerate the “we sell minis” aspect, but the company is not Miniatures Workshop after all. They tried to go light on the gaming part with AoS 1.0 and hopefully learned the lesson. Also, the meta does not change that quickly. But there is a different business issue with meta-bundles and that is the potential redundancy. As a dad player (i.e. more disposable income than free time) I will just buy the meta army if I really want one; if there is a bundle available I will take one, but the lack of bundle will not really impact my plans.

When I first applied colours to the Kroxigor I thought that this time I went too far (see wip picture). Yet it seems that the model came out pretty good after all 😊

You are not wrong, but the change of the realm can change a lot when to comes to the general aesthetic of AoS (Warcry included). I think it's high time we leave this not-very-attractive landscape behind...

Belthanos is a nice model with all the Orion callbacks (the horn, the spear, the cloak) - which probably means that the actual, living elves are not coming back 🙁

The Starseer, Slann’s little copy 😄

The Skink Starseer is done (will post pictures later), so October is for Kroxigors.

Not a particularly fruitful month for me; the Starseer is almost done (but not there yet) and I started some work on another Skink unit . Skinks used to be aquatic and hopefully I can illustrate that with these models.

I sincerely admire the dedication, but when I reached the dremel phase I already knew that this is way too much for me. I’ve never had any problem with magnets in bases, so I will stick (pun intended) to the simple approach 😄

I've found round 5x2 mm perfect for the job. For bigger bases you just use two or more. I usually glue them with Gorilla Glue and/or stick them into Milliput.

Good interview and a reasonable business approach. I guess that easy-to-use foam or silicone case is something that a mom is likely to buy (with some kits) to her son - and ultimately that is all that matters.

You are probably right, but I don't think this is the only reason. Firstly, GW products are generally labelled 12+ and I don't think any sort of magnets ban applies in this age group. Secondly, they already sell stuff like plastic glue.

There may come a day when GW discovers magnets, but it is not this day.

I see this mentioned again and again in the context of "easy painting". For me, the "large flat surface" is one of the most intimidating prospects in mini painting. When I think easy-to-paint it would rather be Seraphon, OBR, Sylvaneth or Ironjawz - not SCE.

I can hear you, but Tyrion & Malerion would have that effect, whether you like the abundance of Elves or not. Also, Sylvaneth are not an Elf army. Alarielle is not enough in the absence of Wardancers and Waywatchers.
