You have to subscribe for a year (£60) and only get one of them for 'free'.

£50 if you get it one year at a time. Still, it's pretty much right on the bubble of what I would pay for a dedicated Warhammer streaming service.

Can someone point me to a post (in this thread or elsewhere) that discusses the new table sizes as outlined in the Battlepacks? I'm lucky enough to have access to a fabulous room in a shared workspace I recently started helping to run and plan monthly AoS game days starting next month.

The problem (if it is a problem) is that the two tables I have to work with are each 49" x 59," so no the 4' x 6' I believe was standard in previous editions. I've heard a lot of talk about smaller tables, but is this going to prevent me from offering anything larger than 1,000 point games? I have ideas for workarounds that might get me up to 4' x 6' but I don't want to go to the trouble if I don't have to.

New table size is 44" x 60" for 2000 point games, just like 40k. Either call the 59" good enough or put a foam board on top and accept a minimal overhang.

The "Mouth of Mork" sure sounds like a Kruleboyz special character

Sweet mother of Settra @Whitefang has responded….

I also remember a leaker on 4chan mentioning the name Mouth of Mork.

  4. Citadel Leadbelcher with a Nuln Oil Wash and optional highlight of Ironbreaker or Stormhost Silver is the standard go-to recipe for steel using the Citadel Range. Pretty much every other paint range will have a decent gunmetal, dark wash, and bright steel equivalent, so don't feel like you have to use Citadel if you don't want to.

My personal recipe for orc metal for my upcoming Kruleboyz army is going to be Iron Warriors basecoat, Agrax Earthshade (maybe Seraphim Sepia) wash, selective application of Typhus Corrosion to add texture, drybrush Trollslayer Orange for rust, then add scratches and edge highlight in Ironbreaker. But I'm intentionally going for a very weathered style that's colorshifted to a warmer palette than standard.

The quickest recipe for fur would be a dark brown with a drybrush of a light brown or tan. Citadel Rhinox Hide, drybrush Tuskgor Fur will get a warmer brown. Mournfang Brown, drybrush Baneblade Brown for something more neutral. You could use a wash, but both of the base browns are quite dark, so I'd question how useful it would be.

Oh!? Perhaps Kragnos will recieve his own Faction after all? Or more of his kind are going to show up?

Species keywords are pretty standard, though I'm not sure we've seen a unique one before. I'm not sure it's necessarily indicative of us getting more Drogrukh.

That was my first thought, but their points are much more in line with the other melee units, and all the ranged units are significantly more expensive. I'm wondering if we might get a more offensive dual-wielding or great weapon melee unit to contrast the spear and shield vindictors. Maybe a unit wielding the axe used on the chariot.

Oh boy, my first Whitefang react! (To my knowledge anyway!)

Ironjawz dont have a battletome though. They're a sub faction now.

Do they have more units lined up? I mean great if so. Obviously in that instance theres sufficient there on the basis of other times to give them the full faction treatment.

But I was operating on the basis of what we know rather than hypothetical/aspirational scenario.

I would like them to be their own thing, I'm really won over by them now.

All the news from GW makes it look like Kruleboyz are a subfaction of Warclans too. Hopefully the new Orruk Warclans battletome will keep the different clans as full allegiances with optional soup allegiance, instead of making them more traditional subfactions.

  9. Honestly, the queue is probably in place more to stop people from unintentionally DDOSing the website than to stop scalpers/bots. If implementing such a limited control puts more boxes in the hands of “legitimate” customers versus the secondary market, it’s a happy side-effect.

I waited in queue for maybe 20 minutes, and had no trouble getting my two boxes, it was a pretty minimal time investment for me.

So does that mean Kragnos can't be legally taken in any army? His warscroll says he can be taken in a "DESTRUCTION" army, but if "Destruction" doesn't exist as an army and keywords don't determine what units can be taken, then how does he fit? Surely he was written with 3e in mind? I'm not trying to challenge anyone's points, I'm just confused.

Maybe they’ve added him to all the destruction army rosters in the GHB.

Any speculation on what will be in the starter boxes?

Not sure I'll be trying to get a dominion box.

Yndrasta, the Anihilators, and the Knight-Vexillor are all on one sprue, as are the Killaboss on Great Gnashtoof, Murknob, and Boltboyz. These will probably be dropped from the starter sets and sold as Webstore-exclusive sets at a big markup, like the command frames from Indomitus.

I’d bet on the following starters:

$40 Starter with the Knight-Incantor, 5 Vindictors, Killaboss with Stab-grot, and 10 Gutrippaz.

$90 Starter with the Lord-Imperatant, 5 Vindictors, 3 Praetors, Swampcalla Shaman with Pot-Grot, 10 Gutrippaz, and 10 Hobgrots.

$160 Starter with the same minis as the $90 Starter, plus terrain and cardboard playmat.

The Gutrippaz and Hobgrots might be reversed, but this puts a battleline option in all the sets.

All prices are USD, reference the price of the 9e 40K starters in your local currency for conversion to Euros, Moose Money, or Good Boy Points.

I am wondering if in Matched Play, all units must fit inside a battalion of some sort

Most factions would have a hard time making lists that don't fit inside 1-3 battalions. Sons of Behemat might have trouble, because they don't have non-behemoth commanders. The only other lists I can think of that don't easily fit in Battalions are lists that spam big mounted commanders (good riddance, tbh).

Was this actually the same person, or an Anon going "hello fellow fa/tg/uys, it is I, Anon who leaked the reinforcement rules. Trust me I am him."?

I don’t think anyone was using tripcodes or anything in the verified leak. I’d take the massive 3-year plan leak with a grain of salt.

Oh no it's Warcry all over again with symbols. I hope that is just for the starter set and the real core rule book uses more generic looking symbols.

Could it have killed them to do something generic and readable? Crown is commander, fist is sub commander, shield is battleline, vague animal skull is monster, etc.. 4 varieties of little men isn't good for glance value.

Also I feel like it may be limiting since not every army has access to 10+ wound heroes to fill this detachment system. Like could Bonesplitterz even use those bigger detachments?

Commanders don't have to be 10+, sub commanders just can't be 10+. Just so you can't stuff three Ghoul Kings on Beasties into one battalion.

Well indomitus released around the same time last year, and it took through October to get the rest of the necrons/primaris releases out.

I mean we only just got the new Flayed Ones and Heavy Intercessors outside of the overpriced Kill Team expansion.

Back in the old days of fantasy if you were mounted you got a +1 to your armour save due to mounted shizzle.  Not unreasonable to kind of assume that he's higher than you and to get to his squidgy bits you've got to get past the huge mountaing of rar that he's riding.

He's got the same save as the Killaboss on Foot with Skareshield, who's similarly moderately armored. They have the same save as the much better armored Megaboss, but the Megaboss doesn't have a shield. I'm fine with chalking it up to +1 for Orkiness.

Not sure if mentioned already by other members, i visited my FLGS today to pick up some of the previous preorders and they told me they will be taking preorders from customers next week for the Dominion set, so it is coming soon.

GW preorders go up on the 19th, the release date is July 3rd.

I'm stoked for a new warclans book.

Something is worrying though; between Kragnos and the Swampcaller both having abilities that can negatively impact your own army, I fear GW might be reinvesting in the concept of team killing dim-wittery as a defining theme of destruction forces. Which, while flavorful does make me flash back to the bad old days of greenskin animosity.

I'm interested to see if venom crusted weapons will be one of the allegiance abilities that has a parallel ability in the big waaagh!.

I'm really looking forward to having some shooting and artillery available!

I'm not super worried about the Swampcaller. I think his Boggy Mist spell is really only going to be run in a Kruelboyz allegiance army, while a Big Waagh army is probably going to mostly use him to pass poison to ranged units. I guess, even in Kruelboyz, the Boggy Mist would hurt Hobgrots and any other non-Orruk units the faction gets, which could be a factor if we get rumored Hobgrot Cavalry or any standalone Troggoth units. Still, the player should be able to tell pretty well if they're going to have any important charges with units that would be negatively affected, and can choose to use the Shaman for a potion or another spell instead.

Also, it sounds like Kruelboyz will keep Venom-Encrusted weapons in a big waaagh style mixed army.

    Quote

The Kruleboyz even have their own extra allegiance ability, Venom-encrusted Weapons, which is every bit as nasty as it sounds! What’s more, they gain this ability whether you field an army consisting exclusively of Kruleboyz or use them as part of a larger Orruk Warclans force.
