I suppose I could also use fold reality on a 9 man flamer unit but I do not have the miniatures to built that list really yet and I do not even know if that'd be more reasonable then doing it on screamers. 9 flamers are quite a bit more squishy then screamers. I'd probably have to invest in a gaunt summoner? Probably on Disc even? And only God knows if they are actually worth their points cost. I dont think so but might aswell be wrong.

Some weeks ago I've seen a list with 9 flamers, Gaunt Summoner on foot, tunnel master and fold reality. The list finished 2nd or 3rd, can't remember.

    But the trick is obvious...

I'm slightly apprehensive about the 9 Bulls, but it's a dam solid hammer that can kill multiple units a turn. Hopefully spawn can protect them on the clap back.

Are the shields for additional protection? I built mine to bear double handweapons for more damage output, but I plan to run just 6 as a cruise missle. They will go in, hopefully kill something and eventually die in the counterattack. :)

  3. You can also use the guy with meteoric standard for even more MW output. Or the trumpet bearing hero.

Then there is the luckstone (an artifact), which guarantees a charge roll. Put it on your Drakesworn, deepstrike and go in for the kill.

Just curious, as someone who played Blades of Khorne a long time ago, how is this new book? Does it finally feel like "Khorne"?

Reasons I think it feels "Khorney":

    • much more priests and usefull prayers
    • almost no shooting, damage is based on melee and prayers

Although it´s a melee centric army that now hast some tools to close the desitance, Blades of Khorne still competes with Ironjawz and Sons of Behemat when it comes down to "good" melee armies.

  5. Hi guys,

    some questions:

Nurglings are set up within 3" of a terrain feature if you use their "deepstrike" ability.

    1) Does a Feculant Gnarlmaw count as a terrain feature regarding this rule?

    2) "wthin 3" of a terrain feature" means, that only one modell of the unit has to be within 3". Is that right?

If that is right: Let´s say I also have Horticulous Slimux in my army. I can then  place the additional Feculent Gnarlmaw in my hero phase within 7" of Hotziculous, then at the end of my movement phase I can set up the Nurglings within 3" of that Feculent Gnarlmaw, meaning I can bridge a distance of nearly 7" (Feculent Gnarlmaw placement) + 4" (base of Gnarlmaw) +3" (Nurglings placement) + 1,5" (Nurgling bases) = 16,5 inches.

    Is that right?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Hi, a short Question regarding Horticulous Slimux:

He can plant an additional Nurgle Tree at the beginning of my hero phase.

Gaining Contagion Points also happens at the start of the hero phase.

Am I right, that the Maggotkin player (who ist the active player in his own hero phase) decides, which of these happens first? Ie I first plant the additional tree, then I gain the contagion point out of that tree?

if tht´s the case, I can get 7 contagion points with ease in the first turn:

Befouling Host, Horticulous Slimux => overall 3 trees => 3 contagion points

being in my territory and no foe in my territory => 4 contagion points.

    Is that right?

  7. Hi,

    just a rules Question:

    Core Rules state:

    25.8 Allies

Below a faction’s Pitched Battle profiles table, you will find a list of allies that can be taken in an army from that faction (see 27.1). The allies list will detail which factions you can take allied units from and any restrictions that apply to their use. Allied units cannot be generals.

Beastmen are Allies to Slaves to Darkness.

Does this mean, I can include a unit of Morghurite Chaos Spawn as allies within a StD army?

Doombull with the helm can charge in your opponents turn, so you counter charge and make the unit that charged you fight last, deal MWs to it, and have another unit engaged.

How do you apply the strike last effect?

I managed to cobble together 3 different Grimwraths from some HGBs.  I've revised my list to include the mightiest of the Duardin, Gotrek himself!  Going with Lord of the Duardrizhal so he can use the Runes.  Next time I play AoS I'll give this a try:

    Greyfyrd Lodge.

Runefather (general, Lord of the Duardrizhal, Axe of Grimnir)

    Runemaster (Volatile Brazier, Heal)

    Runesmiter (Grimnir's Fury)

    Battlesmith (Nulsidian Icon)

    Runeson (w Ancestral Axe)

    Gotrek

3x5 HGBs w Broadaxes (retinues for Runefather and Runeson)

    3 Grimwrath Berzerkers

I'm thinking a lot about Herohammer Fyreslayers and these are some questions I can't answer myself. What do you think?

    1) Krondspine incarnate. It literally gives half your army all out attack for just 1 cp. Nice model too.

    2) Runefather OR Runeson on Magmadroth. Sure, you can't put the additional relics on them and they won't get +2 ro their wounds characteristics, but you gain a fast beatstick that you're otherwise missing. You can still give the free Relic to them and they will still get a mount Trait.

This Nurgle list started out as a silly idea, and probably should have remained as such. I don’t know though. Is it enough for a Nurgle army to simply endure and grind and spread disease?

    A092D740-CFF7-48FE-8C37-BD580F825A49.jpeg

IMO you can quite easily enhance this list without loosing the theme:

I absolutely love Lord of Blights in conjunction with Blight kings. He gives them a good shooting attack. Give him the overpowering stench to mess with your opponents command abilities.

Gutrot Spume is able to deepstrike with up to 2 mortal units.

Honestly I can see no reason to field a Poxbringer. A Bilepiper with its "no pile in" song offers much more utility.

I think 20 Plaguebearers per unit should be enough. You can support them by a Bilepiper or a Scrivener. If you chose a Scrivener you should have a look at the Arcane Tome universal artifact. That way you can cast the +1 wounds spell at them as well as giving them +1 to their save.

I opted to field 20 plaguebearers in a single unit for efficiency and so far they have not disappointed. With Fleshy Abbundance that is 60 wounds to chew through, can reliably tank almost anything that is thrown against them and if you add either Mystic Shield or the +1 Armour Save from the Scrivener, they can tank that much better. I also find them working well with the +1 attack from the Scrivener (which means a lot of attacks due to Veterans) and from turn 2 onward when I have the access to the Sloppity, these attacks have also the potential to inflict mortal wounds. This unit reliably killed 10 Vindictors and following up 10 Sequitors and was even able o hold its own against a Carnosaur and Stegadon charge supported with Bounty Hunters Saurus Knights. It is just a brick which refuses to die and you can throw it against everything and lock it in combat for a few turns.

The reason why I start with the Scrivener is because it has the two key buffs to make the brick above work that much better. If I expect a lot of melee damage I opt for the +1 Armour Save, if I have to grind down an unit, I have the option for +1 attack. Considering that my Plaguebearers are Bounty Hunters, that is good damage.

Well, you're the second person who tells me that a 20 men block of Plaguebearers is of any use.

10 men squads do nothing for me but slowly dying. And on the paper they do not seem to do anything more than just dy even slower.

20 Plaguebearers plus Scrivener is 420 points, which is a lot of points spent in something that looks mediocre at best.

Nevertheless I think I have to try it because I really like Plaguebearers (modelwise — I own around 70 of them).

Ooh wow, congratulations!  Great to see that Oakenbrow can perform....if you didn't have the Krondspine what else would you have taken instead?  I was thinking some Tree Revenants for teleporting and Branchwyches for an extra artefact/spell casting.  I'm playing my friend's Nighthaunt this week if plans work out.

It´s not my list, just found it on the interwebs. Personally I´d run something like

    Allegiance: Sylvaneth
    - Glade: Oakenbrow
    - Grand Strategy:
    - Triumphs:

    Leaders
Drycha Hamadreth (335)  best looking Sylvaneth model (well, Warsong Revenant is also ace)
    Treelord Ancient (360)
    Spirit of Durthu (370)

    Battleline
5 x Tree-Revenants (110) just for the scenarios / tactics in which you need some Galletian Veterans
    Treelord (260)
    Treelord (260)
    Treelord (260)

    Endless Spells & Invocations
    Spiteswarm Hive (40)

    Total: 1995 / 2000
    Reinforced Units: 0 / 4
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 90
    Drops: 7

Though I do not have any experience with Sylvaneth. Just saw the list posted above and I pretty much like it!

Any advice how to improve this list. Any tips on how to improve the gameplay of this list?

I am eager to listen to Grandfather's whispers.

Thanks for your report. I can´t give you any advice because I regularly field different units. One thing though: maybe you should run the 20 Plaguebearers in 2 units of 10 each. That way you can screen a larger portion of the field, can contest more objectives, the whole 20 men don´t get killed in one go by bounty hunters,...

I can´t see a reason to field Plaguebearers in larger units than 10.

How many points is that list exactly?

One question: Why a Scrivener? Whenever I read that warscroll I wonder what the job of that model ist.

  14. Hi all,

the following list went 4 – 1 in a recent tournament:

    LEADERS

    Spirit of Durthu (370)

    - General

    - Command Trait: Gnarled Warrior

    - Artefact: Greenwood Gladius

    Treelord Ancient (360)

    - Lore of the Deepwood: Treesong

    BEHEMOTHS

    Treelord (260)*

    - Sylvaneth Battleline (Glade: Oakenbrow)

    Treelord (260)*

    - Sylvaneth Battleline (Glade: Oakenbrow)

    Treelord (260)*

    - Sylvaneth Battleline (Glade: Oakenbrow)

    Krondspine Incarnate of Ghur (400)

    - Allies

    ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS

    Gladewyrm (50)

    Spiteswarm Hive (40)

    CORE BATTALIONS

    *Bounty Hunters

    TOTAL: 2000/2000

I pretty much like the look of an elite Sylvaneth force, though I´m not sure wether I like to field treelords only or if I should include some Kurnoth Hunters instead.

    What do you think?

Are Kurnoth Hunters "better" than Treelords if you like to field a small, elitish army?

What are the strenghts and weaknesses of each unit?

  15. Let´s talk about BURNING SIGIL OF TZEENTCH:

    1) Did you notice that you can turn your own models into spawns with this spell?

    2) In a recent batrep on youtube one posted in the comment section that you can get just ONE Spawn per movement phase out of that endless spell due to the fact that they write something like "before the first model is removed..." and there is ony one FIRST model to be removed. ;) What do you think about this?

  16. Hi all,

is it possible to build Enlightend on Foot with spare weapons from the Enlightened on Disc kit and bodies from the standard Tzengors kit?

For instance, let´s say I get 2 sets of Enlightened on Disc and 1 set of Tzaangors. Can I then build

    6 Skyfires

    6 Enlightened on Foot

    (4 spare Tzaangors)?

    Thoughts on pinks as battleline?

There is no way that I buy or even paint 50 models to get a 10 men battleline unit even if that unit would be the most broken thing out there.

    Thanks, GW, no interest!

Gaming wise you have to consider that these 50 wounds melt extremely fast due to the fact that they are Galletian Veterans.
