  3. I think on stardrake the staunch procs with castellant so it heals the drake which has more than normal wounds and it is more viable. Specifically sequitors who rerolls hits combined with the command ability of vandus, it is like a celestial vindicators mixed with hammers of sigmar stormhost. And you have the 6 FNP on top if that.

  5. Has anybody tested Hammers of Sigmars for the FNP command trait? Is it valuable or it is just ok if you have it? I think it is must if you play against armies with MW.
  6. I agree with what mentioned above. I started a similar topic and I would like to give a little piece of advice as I am in the same position. Castellant for sure +1 save and heal so it is basically a FNP for wounds if I am not mistaken. I don't know about evos, they are really storng in attack but I lost 4 of them when 8 Hearthguard rolled 6 6s on chance to hit. I suggest (as I ve done) 15 Libs and 10 Judies and you deploy them as you wish. They are battleline so they are always usefull. I use arcanum on a gryph charge cause I like the miniature a lot and he buffs Sequitors. For shooting although I initially was thinking about ballistas I started thinking Raptors with LongStrikes. Heroes are really situational. I bought a Lord-Celestant, nice support and a Relictor, Translocation is especially usefull for stormkeep, and maybe vexillor or heraldor. A UNIT OF AETHERWINGS IS A TOTAL MUST. I hope I helped you.
  7. I hope it will continue to be so powerfull... or else I have to find 200 euros!!! This is why I started this topic. So many units but I have no clue how the game is being evolved. I like some units as they seem at warscrolls but it may not be as it seems.
  8. Dracothian for punch line or mobility? I am between Concussors and Desolators. The second choice must be deployed in 6 for more output damage which costs points. I am thinking also Prime for mobility. He can descend anywhere in the battlefield , he flies move and run any roll he wishes. Also he can charge and block a unit if u wish . He is a multi tool.
  9. I would like an advice. I just started to collect stormcast. I am new to AOS in general. I am goint to expand the army but it seems a road with a lot of paths. I have soul warsand bought one box of Libs. I have in mind some playstyles : 1) vanguard , which I have to start all over with a box, 2) focus on sarcosanct and cleansing phalanx, 3) maybe skyborne, 4) kitty cats, 5) just some mixed playstyle with a little shooting, heavy infantry like retributors and a fast unit of Dragothian duard. I like the fact that the army is flexible but it costs a lot of $$$. I ve already order a celestant on stardrake (badass model) and I ve got a Lord-Celestant. Thanks for any help!!!
  10. I totally agree...maybe ballistas have more output damage and 7 wound each but VR I think have more utility, you treat them as one unit so easier to buff or transport it all over the battlefield.
  11. That's true. I am very enthusiastic about this unit. I am just trying to combine melee and shooting. I suggest 1*9 cause u can use anvils command ability or translocation count them as one unit. If i am gonna use vanguard i must collct the stormcast army from zero. Only evos sequitors and libs until now. I need about 150$ at least for vanguard.
  12. I think the *9 Longstrikes are a must at a Stormcast army. It is a powerfull shooting unit. Aetherwings are also a must. They cost nothing and they can grab an objective (last game I could earn at least 2 points). VR or ballistas??? VR-LC have the MW on 6s for 510 pts / 4*ballistas with Ordinator 580 without MW. If you play Anvils it is more favorable to play VR as it costs you 1 CA. I dunno , a bit confused. I am new and I am trying to solve these maths but I love them. A lot of units and flexibility. How do you deal with fireslayers? - 2 MW on 6 (I lost my unit of evocators last night, he rolled 6 6s with 18 attacks). - command ability, they always take the first turn in combat phase so they kill your punch line. Is it more effective to play a mobility army with some shooting? Can you deal them face to face? For example yesterday I chose celestial vindicators but I didn't engage. I prefered to run around and take the objectives. But I could have a Lord Aquilor and a vanguard palladors unit and poof around.
  14. Just a question. If Arcanum use his CA to make evocators cast their empower without be unbined, are evocators able to cast another spell since empower was casted due to command ability?? OR it is applied in core rules 1 caster- 1 spell???
  15. That's true, It's hard to throw them against one unit. Maybe you can split it like ten in one unit and the rest 5 to another or a hero.
  16. Exactly. This is why I suggested the phalanx. I strongly believe a 20 block sequitors empowered can kill a hearthguard unit. 11 blades *4 attacks rerollin everything plus celestial blades and azyrite also. Then greatmaces 9*2 attacks.
  17. Arcanum on dracoline as general, vandus for +1 attacks. I am thinking instead of pick celestial vindicators take the +1 attack from vandus plus the other buffs of hammers of sigmar. Assuming u take melee oriented army. Other lords or knights maybe relictor , heraldor , vexillor, incantor. At the bottom of the line if u land a +5 when a unit is destroyed...
  18. Thank you very much for your information. The truth is i ve seen only the high cost of the units. The other points you referred to, I have to see them during play. Since you mentioned hearthguard, they have mortal wounds on 6s plus fnp on 4s , battlesock immune, and all these just because they are on the battlefield next to a hero and an objective (not to mention the CA). We must juice our brain to get such buffs. Evocators as a block of 10 or on cats I think they will melt down any unit plus the 20 dices for MW on 4s.
  19. I think for the stormkeep +1 save to be applied the unit must not have move or set up. So transolacation is a movement
  20. I ve played a couple of games only, but i think the phalanx buffs the sequitors pretty strong, while in general it is difficult to get any buffs without paying a command ability. Blocks of 10 or 15 sequitors (20 won't pile in all of them i think) and you have the evocators to do some damage also. Hammers of sigmar for the feel no pain to stand more and vandus for the command ability. Since you have rerolls you can use the blades in sequitors to get more damage output. Note that i don't have all the models so i haven't tested it yet but because i am trying to expand my army i was looking to direct that way of phalanx. Thank you for your comment.

  22. I have one question about Hammers of Sigmar's command ability "soul of the stormhost". If the unit is destroyed in 2nd turn, can I use the command ability in the remaining turns to bring back the unit???OR if the roll fails I can't use it in third or fourth hero phase?
  23. Hello. Due to being new to Warhammer. Staunch defender is applied when in a BR I play second? During opponent's turn I can't charge neither way. So if tye opponent attacks do I have the buff?? OR it does apply only during my turn if i haven't charged???
  24. In BattleScribe although you can't pick a Lord-Celestant on a mount. Your only option is the one on foot.
