  1. Whatever, nerds. Have fun figuring out the logistics of not getting stuffed into lockers. I'll be over here RUINATING stuff.
  2. Ruination is such a strong name. People have been wanting more information about that chamber since we first learned that it exists. You don't see a lot of calls to release the Logister chamber, by comparison. Yeah, cool chamber you got there, nerds. 🤓
  3. That's some thick paper. Could probably bludgeon a guy.
  4. One of my favourite bits of OBR lore is that generally, Ossiarchs don't advance through the ranks. Instead, they are purpose-built to be leaders and only get demoted into progressively more menial roles as punishment for failure. I think that says a lot about Nagash and his vision of an ideal society. That guy is pretty big on punishing people, not so much rewarding them.
  5. Wildercorps is in the CoS tome. If new Plague Monks are in the works at all, I would expect them to either be in the book from the start, or coming a good while (a year plus) later.
  6. Sigmar lied about the Horned Rat having weapons of mass destruction to justify his invasion of Skavenblight. Blatant Azyrite imperialism again.
  7. I agree. But I think the fact that CoS Dwarves have appeared in two of the Dawnbringers stories now (this one and the one where they were building that tower for Ionus) is pretty reassuring.
  8. Zenestra is great, because she gives Order a Death-style jobber that can get beat down and then just mysteriously reappear later.
  9. There was also a mention of the Valaya ancestor cult in the story. So that would be a neat direction for Dispossessed to go in.
  10. Nah, it's just Reikenor. At least in today's story. It's all there: The scythe, candles, his weird horse.
  11. It's a rumour that I have definitely seen floating around. Would be cool, especially if it comes with the right kind of model support. But I agree, it's definitely an out of left field choice.
  12. Oh wow, confusing. But I suppose reading the Warscroll explains the Warscroll:
  13. Yeah, completely forgot about the doggo. Even better, in that case. It means that you can lose both it and the rogue lady before the Companions lose any of their important rules. Interesting that you bring up Lethis. I would have assumed that only non-named heroes would be able to become priests from that allegiance, but the wording actually does not prevent named characters from benefiting. Might be fun to turn the Ven Densts and Hexbane into priests for a witch hunter army. Actually, between the Ven Densts, Hexbane and the Saviors of Cinderfall, is witch hunter spam a viable meme list now? I noticed the same with the Alchemite, who gets a 3 attacks, 3+/3+/-1/d3 profile instead of the normal wizard bonk. Killed two Chaos Knights for me in one combat last game.
  14. Honestly, who knows? Still low-key hoping for a made-to-order run like we got with Anasta Malkorion, to be honest.
  15. It's difficult, right? With the low number of AoS games played (fewer tournaments than other competitive games, and the individual matches take longer than in other games), it must be hard to get good data on individual subfactions. But looking into this would definitely be worthwhile. However, I am already pretty happy every army in the game has at least one list capable of winning. That's not nothing, as far as a list/deck/roster building game is concerned.
  16. Congratulations! I know you have been pretty active in hunting one down. I really want that guy, too. At the moment I am still checking nearby stores, but I don't have much hope right now. If anyone has any spare Rooks, please message me. Damn you GW for making such a stellar model a limited release!
  17. I would love if they put out one final battlescroll that defines what the "historical" version of 3rd ed is. You know, what 3rd ed is after all battletomes are updated and independently from any seasonal rules, as a common framework for people who want to go back to the edition in the future.
  18. Seems strange to me that Cities are that high. As far as I could tell, they only really started performing around the start of the new year, but even then I did not get the impression that they are literally the top tournament faction of the game. I found this interesting: "Ironjawz, Kruleboyz, Sylvaneth, Coalesced Seraphon, and Slaves to Darkness are all slightly trailing, so the studio have them earmarked for possible future changes." I wonder what that means. I don't think there will be another Battlescroll between now and 4th ed.
  19. It's certainly a choice you have to make, but I think they are viable. CoS can have the tendency to castle up, so a unit that can deploy on an objective, capture and hold it, forcing the opponent to split their attention, can have a role in this army. Not in all lists, but definitely in some. It helps that the Saviors of Cinderfall are good enough to present a credible threat. You won't remove them easily by just throwing a 200 point skirmishing unit at them.
  20. I still don't fully understand how the Regiment of Renown works with the Saviours of Cinderfall. Can you take it in Cities? If so, does it still benefit from the Cities of Sigmar allegiance abilities and other interactions? Also, as far as I can tell, Callis and Toll and the Companions are two hero units, so I think that should just be 2 Orders (+1 for one of them if you are in Hammerhal Aqsha, potentially).
  21. The rules for the Saviors of Cinderfall are here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/pFO1pSeBSGlPxsGR.pdf First impressions: Offense: Melee is solid for both, ranged is OK for Callis and Toll. Callis and Toll are actually quite fighty. They get double damage against WIZARDS and DEMONS, and Toll can auto-kill stuff by rolling 2d6 above wound characteristic at the end of combat. WIZARDS should definitely be scared. I don't think there are many WIZARDS that would live through a counter-charge from them. Defense: Callis and Toll: 10 wounds, 4+ save, 5+ ward. Companions: 11 wounds, 4+ non-lowerable save. HUMAN keyword for Command Corps healing. Seems solid. Movement: 5" move, so slow. But can use Advance in Formation and can deep strike onto terrain. Seems workable. Support: Verentia from the Companions gains you command points if the opponent uses commands around the unit. It's an OK upside. Locked to Hammerhal Aqsha, although that barely matter. Two hero units, but only one LEADERS slot. So two Orders, which they can fully self-benefit from. The units cost 350 points together. I think these units have a role: Grabbing and defending an objective early. They look interesting, because they present the opponent with a problem they need to deal with, likely out somewhere hard to get to. If I remember correctly, the Regiment of Renown gives them +1 to saves and wards on objectives, which actually seems like a huge bonus. If you can give the Companions a ward (with Zenestra or Steelhelms), they become very hard to remove: Potential 3+ unrendable save, 5+ or 4+ ward, plus Command Corps healing. They look fun. I'll proxy them sometime to see if they play well.
