  1. Just went 2-1 at an RTT. Only lost to 4 stonehorns. Here's my list: Allegiance: Sylvaneth- Glade: Gnarlroot- Grand Strategy: Hold the Line- Triumphs: InspiredLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (740)Treelord Ancient (295)*- General- Command Trait: Nurtured by Magic- Artefact: Chalice of Nectar- Deepwood Spell: Verdurous HarmonyBattleline20 x Dryads (190)*- Reinforced x 15 x Tree-Revenants (80)*5 x Tree-Revenants (80)*5 x Tree-Revenants (80)*Units6 x Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Scythes (430)*- Reinforced x 1Endless Spells & InvocationsEmerald Lifeswarm (60)Spiteswarm Hive (40)Core Battalions*Battle RegimentTotal: 1995 / 2000Reinforced Units: 2 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 93Drops: 2 Treelord has a CA that gives +1 save wholly within 12" of him AND Hunters. And he gets a once per game free tree. I can get him and the Hunters at +3 save very easily so he's basically a 2+ save ignoring -2 rend. I position him behind Hunters, he can stomp and make a unit within 3" fight last. And has 3" reach. So he can swing over Hunters. I plant( hehe) him and 6 Hunters on an objective. That counts for 17 models and extremely hard to shift outside of mass MW. So the basic strategy of this list is TLA and Hunters on 1 objective. 20-40 dryads or 20 dryads and 3 Hunters, either sword or bow, battleshock immune, on another. While Alarielle just runs around causing mayham. With lifeswarm I can just bring back 2d3 or even heal thr TLA 4d3. Fun list with some teeth.
  2. Played three 3.0 games. Two were after the FAQ. Won 1 and tied 2 due to time but I feel I could have come out on top of both. Against Soulblight with Nef (tied) and 2 SCE lists (won 1 and tied the other) Wow.. the board control Sylvaneth have now I really strong. Yes, smash to rubble will stop us from teleporting but by turn 2 you should have on average 6-8 wyldwoods on the board. It's so easy to get a good save and negate rend. Alarielle and Warsong Revanent are really good in my opinion. I found myself, adding new cogs, that I was struggling to find spells to use haha. Treesong is a really good spell now with how many woods we can get on the board. My list is: Warlord: Alarielle - 740 All spells Warsong Revanent - 275 General, Nurtured by Magic, Acorn of the Ages, All Spells Branchwraith- 95 Chalice of Nectar, V Harmony 5 Tree-Revenants - 80 Hunters of the Heartlands: 20 Dryads - 190 5 Tree-Revenants - 80 6 Kurnoth Hunters w/ Scythes - 430 Chronomantic Cogs - 45 Spiteswarm Hive - 40 1975pts I feel Sylvaneth will be in a much better spot in 3.0.
  3. I didnt even think of that. Flaming weapon on drycha is going to be crazy too. With all out attack and finest hour, one of her weapons can be 20 attacks 2s to hit, 3s to wound 2 dmg each, or the other can be 10 attacks 3s, 2s to wound, -2, 3 dmg each.
  4. Flaming Weapon is going to make Alarielle's Talon pretty good. For each attack that goes through thats 2 rolls for the instakill.
  5. Played with the new Wyldwood rules. Finally, some good things are happening. One Wyldwood was a small little Cresent to be able to teleport and cap objective. And did 13 MW in 3 turns in the charge phase with wizards and endless spell near by for the 4+ trigger. It actually made my opponent think twice about going near the woods.
  6. Exactly. I think these are going to help so much. Afraid Alarielle or another key pieces is about to get shot off the board turn 1 before you go? Make her or Durthu a 2+ to save? Get some extra heals in your phase. These are pretty awesome for us. Also.. that sweet sweet extra CP.
  7. Yep, I think the initial leak said each and people started hanging on to that. What I do believe Sylvaneth can now play for the double turn now. Wyldwood placement is now easier with a very small foot print. I have a list I want to try with her that benefits on going second on various of turns. I don't think a single piece will block LoS. They measure about 2.5" in width and we need 3" to block.
  8. Now with Alarielle's new scroll out, even though she is 740pt which is a bit of a stretch, do you think she has a place in Living Cities? She now has access to the full spell lore, and has a pretty reliable D6 dmg spear. Her spell can now do so great dmg. And She can potentially now heal 3D6 on your turn and D6 on the opponents. I can see some interesting play with her in LC. Thoughts?
  9. This leads me to believe that there will probably be a full points overhaul for 3.0. Either that or giving people more chances to getting a triumph.
  10. I'd like to share my thoughts. I've been playing Sylvaneth for the past 2.5 years with some ups and downs. So here it goes.. The Warsong Revanent, though a bit overcooked at 275, still definitely has a place in our army. We have been lacking on another multi caster and taking all the spells will definitely bring more utility to our force. He's like a little Swiss army knife. He can heal, buff, do some decent damage. As a General in Gnarlroot, he can potentially heal D6+2d3 wounds around him. And he's a great replacement for a Branchwych bomb. We also don't know how bravery might be in 3.0 so we can see potential with bravery bombs. Wyldwoods.. wow. That was probably the best change we got. The footprints will not be as big now, but the effect and placement is so much better. We now have the option to use a single Cresent shape, which the smallest one is 5"L×2.5"W, in the tightest spaces. It won't block line of sight in most instances due to the new rules but it makes Treesong a very valuable spell. And also gives more teleport options. And now with doing MW on a 4+ with a wiz/endless spell near, it's will happen more often. And now we can see out of them, which is very powerful. Bow hunters may have a comeback with that. Now Alarielle, The Thigh Queen. I love her new warscroll. Healing 2D6 to herself and D3 around her in each herophase is great! Yeah, she will go down fairly quickly with no FNP but it will take some focusing, which will give your other key pieces room to work. In Gnarlroot, she will be an absolute beast. Her spear is now much more reliable and at a fixed 6 damage. Combined with her spell, she has the ability to pop support characters or bracket big monsters quiet easily. Now with horns hitting better, she has become an absolute beast. Her talon is interesting, i do wish it had rend but if you get 3 or 4 attacks throughout, you have a very good chance to kill a big monster. Of course if you blindly throw her into a bad situation, she will crumble. In my opinion, she is a back-mid field support hero. She will dominate control on our side of the board. Keep her back till late 2, mid 3 and then bring her up to clean up where she will be best utilized. At 740, she is a bit much, but definitely not unplayable. We also are unsure about what 3.0 will completely look like. I definitely see use now as a B- army as opposed to D. The change to Wyldwoods really helped. Yeah, it'll take a bit of finesse to win still, but that's what I love about this army.
  11. As far as I understand it, you can only burn a single objective at a time. It's reads "at the end of each of their turns, a player can raze AN objective they control in their enemies territory." I'd also be interested if they ran her in Gnarlroot. And She really shouldn't be move up field turn 1. I consider and use her and as an end of round 2/ round 3 closer and a very powerful support.
  12. I get that, the lowest Sylvaneth can get is 3 drop. The reason I didn't include tree revs is since dreadwood already allow teleport with a cp, I didnt see it completely nessasary. I totally agree with bow hunters. One day I'll run like 18 just for fun. Here's a 5 drop list I even thought of using. Allegiance: Sylvaneth- Glade: DreadwoodLeadersArch-Revenant (100)- General- Command Trait: Paragon of Terror- Artefact: Jewel of WitheringBranchwraith (80)- Artefact: Spiritsong Stave- Deepwood Spell: Throne of VinesDrycha Hamadreth (300)- Deepwood Spell: Verdurous HarmonyBattleline30 x Dryads (270)10 x Dryads (100)10 x Dryads (100)Units6 x Kurnoth Hunters (380)- Scythes6 x Kurnoth Hunters (380)- GreatswordsBattalionsForest Folk (140)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsSpiteswarm Hive (50)Extra Command Point (50)Total: 1950 / 2000Extra Command Points: 2Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 130 I figure I can teleport the Sword/Scythes hunters in the back field with the Arch Rev for rr1s to hit. Even if I don't, I can still give them an extra attack. I know this army needs a lot of work and some warscroll tweaks but I used to only run like 6 hunters total. Now I have more and will hopefully have a bit more teeth. Thanks for the input!
  13. I'd like to win a couple games. So I want to be able to put up as much a fight as possible. Lol
  14. Hey fellow treefolk, Me again. I usually run Gnarlroot. But want to try Dreadwood since Gnarlroot can't really hang in the spellcasting "meta". Hows this list look? Can't decide what to do with the last 50pts. Allegiance: Sylvaneth- Glade: DreadwoodLeadersBranchwraith (80)- Artefact: Spiritsong Stave- Deepwood Spell: Throne of VinesArch-Revenant (100)- General- Command Trait: Paragon of Terror- Artefact: Jewel of WitheringDrycha Hamadreth (300)- Deepwood Spell: Verdurous HarmonyBranchwraith (80)- Deepwood Spell: Verdurous HarmonyBattleline10 x Spite-Revenants (120)5 x Spite-Revenants (60)5 x Spite-Revenants (60)Units6 x Kurnoth Hunters (380)- Scythes6 x Kurnoth Hunters (380)- Greatswords3 x Kurnoth Hunters (190)- GreatbowsBattalionsOutcasts (100)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsSpiteswarm Hive (50)Extra Command Point (50)Total: 1950 / 2000Extra Command Points: 2Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 120 I also thought about this list.. 15. I should have said those 9 games were 3 separate 1 day tournaments, using ITC. The TO ruled all faction terrain needed to be 3" away from other terrain. So ultimately it's up to the TO. I would just ask my opponent if I could move the small bits of scatter pieces that had no rules.
  16. Yes sadly, the FAQ only pertains to the GHB2019 and it came before the GHB2019 got its Errata. The 3" rule has only effected me on 1 table out of the past 9 games I've played. Usually there isn't a lot of random scatter terrain and if there is a bunch, my opponent was pretty cool about moving it if I asked politely.
  17. I have recently found a love of using Alarielle in my Sylvaneth lists so I'm bringing her into my Living Cities army. How's this look? Allegiance: Cities of Sigmar- City: Living CityLeadersSorceress (90)- Artefact: Wardroth Horn- Lore of Leaves: LifesurgeCelestial Hurricanum with Celestial Battlemage (280)- General- Command Trait: Ironoak Artisan- Lore of Leaves: LifesurgeAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- Lore of Leaves: Ironoak SkinDrycha Hamadreth (300)- Lore of Leaves: Cage of ThornsBattleline10 x Freeguild Handgunners (100)10 x Freeguild Handgunners (100)10 x Freeguild Handgunners (100)10 x Dreadspears (90)Units10 x Sequitors (240)- Stormsmite Mauls and SoulshieldsEndless Spells / Terrain / CPsExtra Command Point (50)Quicksilver Swords (30)Total: 1980 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 102 I think this has some teeth, especially with adding 3 more Kurnoth Hunters of even a Treelord for the stomp.
  18. Hmm, the CA would be cool on them but I have a feeling that base if bigger than 6" so no deep striking them.
  19. For sure. This isn't the list I usually run, but I just built the model so I said, why the ef not. Lol I totally agree on the bodies comment, thats why I hope 20 dryads can help with that. And definitely, I just wish she had some staying power. If I did change something about the list that I own, it would be Drycha for another unit of Hunters, but with bows sadly since I didn't magnetize my unit, and an Arch Rev to give them rr1s to hit and give the Sword unit extra attacks. I'd have 40 pts left over so I could either get a nice endless spell like Swords or Palisade for some LoS blocking or go for a triumph. It would look like this: Allegiance: Sylvaneth- Glade: GnarlrootLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- Deepwood Spell: Throne of VinesTreelord Ancient (260)- General- Command Trait: Nurtured by Magic- Artefact: The Vesperal Gem- Deepwood Spell: Verdurous HarmonyBranchwraith (80)- Artefact: Chalice of Nectar- Deepwood Spell: RegrowthArch-Revenant (100)Battleline5 x Spite-Revenants (60)5 x Spite-Revenants (60)5 x Spite-Revenants (60)Units6 x Kurnoth Hunters (380)- Greatswords3 x Kurnoth Hunters (190)- GreatbowsBattalionsOutcasts (100)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsUmbral Spellportal (70)Quicksilver Swords (30)Total: 1990 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 98
  20. I'm taking this list to an RTT in a couple of weeks and I really want to try Alarielle. It's what I have. I would consider trading Drycha for some more Hunters and a command point. Allegiance: Sylvaneth- Glade: GnarlrootLeadersAlarielle the Everqueen (600)- Deepwood Spell: Throne of VinesTreelord Ancient (260)- General- Command Trait: Nurtured by Magic- Artefact: The Vesperal Gem- Deepwood Spell: Verdurous HarmonyBranchwraith (80)- Artefact: Chalice of Nectar- Deepwood Spell: RegrowthDrycha Hamadreth (300)- Deepwood Spell: RegrowthBattleline5 x Spite-Revenants (60)5 x Spite-Revenants (60)5 x Spite-Revenants (60)Units6 x Kurnoth Hunters (380)- GreatswordsBattalionsOutcasts (100)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsUmbral Spellportal (70)Total: 1970 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 88 The plan is to have Alarielle stay back and screened for 3 turns firing Metamorphosis through the portal. By turn 3, it should be at +6 dice. Then I'll throw her into combat where I know she will do well in. I'll probably summon 20 dryads for bodies on an objective. Drycha will snipe some heros and hit some horde units hard. And the TLA will back the unit of Kurnoth bringing 1 back every turn. I definitely feel that this list has some teeth. Thoughts?
  21. Yep! Same with Alarielle and whoever she summons.
  22. Sadly, as a Sylvaneth main, I'd have to say LC. I use both. Though I'd have to say, in this shooting meta, it's been fun playing Sylvaneth. I went to an ITC event and they ruled that you can choose Drychas emotion while she is off the board. So she is worth her weight in gold in a LC army, popping on the side of the board with 20 shots and moving into combat.
  23. This past weekend I went to my first ever 2k 1 day event. 3 games, 20 players over to the course of 2 days to maintain social distancing. I’ve only played like three 2k games before hand and wasn't really familiar with other armies aside from my friends who play Ironjawz, Stormcast, and Nighthaunt. So I knew going into the games, I was going to run into armies I almost knew nothing about. I watch batreps but I retain the knowledge better in the moment as opposed to watching a game. 1st player was a Nurgle player. He did a great job marking which units belong to which blob and went over his rules very clearly and openly, all without letting me know how he would use it. I won, but only by 2 points. It was a great game. 2nd game was against OBR with Negash, Deathrider spam. He, again, explained his rules clearly and told me how his army works without giving away strategy (not that he needed to, it was a basic "im gonna charge you and you can't cast against me") I lost but it was still fun. I even asked what I could have done differently to have a better chance. It was my deployment. 3 game was against That Guy. I knew I'd run into one eventually but oh well. He played Fyreslayers. Everyone looked the same, heros looked exactly like his units and he wasnt clear what they do. I asked him what his tbreat range was, he assured me he is slow, next thing I know he is in my face turn 1. He was vague when I asked what his heros did with answers like "they make my guys tougher" or "they make them hit harder". I even caught him trying to deploy deeper that he could. When I asked him what I could have done to do better, he said "nothing". I was pretty surprised but I just shrugged it off. It won't stop me from going to events if I know there are WAAC player out there. But I can see how it can be a deterent to new players.
  24. That IS dirty.. I like it. That list looks fun also! My only worry would be not getting another Wyldwood on the floor to give Durthu more Umph! further down the field. Unless you take an Acorn.
  25. Yeah, its risky. Thats why I'm hoping at 5 drops, I could stand a chance to get first turn. As long as I don't run into Seraphon with boardwide unbinds, I (hopefully) should be ok. I do like the idea of an Arch-Rev. Thanks!
