  1. Hey fellow Lords,

i am getting two boxes of Dracothian Guard and was wondering, what would be the best way to build them. I see a lot of love for Concussors here, so is this the way to go?

At the moment i am building a Starcast list, where these Concussors would fit in quite good.

What i don't really get, is why people are using Fulminators over Concussors in CoS Living City lists. I feel a lot of love for living city and am thinking about expanding it into a force. So i would like to know why Fulminators are the preferred option? Can Concussors perform well in a Living City army as well? Why play Fulminators only in CoS and not in a Starcast list? Tempestors look quite cool, but don't seem to get any games in? What are your opinions?

I hope you all stay save in the skies and drop down on the tables again soon when this pandemic is over.

    Greetings

    Archie

In one of the previous posts someone mentioned sons lists are going defensive.

I wanted to see these and couldn't find them.

I guess it will be Taker tribe with the -1 to hit Commandtrait and the plate of perfect protection on another Mega.

  4. Has someone tried something like this? With the new FAQ it seems possible to field a Celestent on Stardrake in the Slayers Battalion...

Just one quick question: can the Stomper Tribe use all the Big Shout or must I chose one of them for one battle?

You can use all of the Big Shouts.

I have another question for you guys: What is the current consensus regarding armylist composition? 3 Megas and 3 Mancrushers (3 or 1-1-1) or 2 Megas and 6 Mancrushers (3-1-1-1)? A few pages back someone called out, that he won all games with 3 Megas but often lost with only 2 Megas (if i remerber correctly).

  6. Hey fellow Gargants,

i need some skin tone advice. My first Mega and three Mancrusher are painted in (Darkoath Flesh on Wrath Bone). My second Mega should get a darker skintone (just like the Krakeneater on GW Website) and i want to use contrast paint again. I am a friend of simple painting, so it is contrast, drybrush and finished.

Do you have a good advice how to achive the wanted effect? Maybe Wyldwood would work?

So just for a bit of lawyering-fun after the underwhelming FAQs. This is related to the discussion concerning the inclusion of a Lord Celestant with mount in Skyborne Slayers (oh yes @Juicy :D ).

In the FEC Errata they clarified the Royal Family battalion

    image.png.9f4daa161f1a604476892a2563de4163.png

they did so in particular to specify that the Abhorrant Ghould Kings that can be included in the battalion should not have mounts. On this point there was the same ambiguity that we have on Skyborne Slayers, since they did not use the KEYWORD system and now the core rules say that you ignore subtexts.

Now the lawyer in me wants to use this as proof that you can include whatever non-named Lord celestant you wish in Skyborne Slayers, because if they wanted to avoid this, the would have clarified it in the same way as the Royal Family

Does that mean, that i can field a Celestant on Stardrake in Skyborn Slayers?😍

  8. Just wanted to share the beginning of my small Taker tribe.

The hands of the Mega are magnetized and the head can be switched. I glued the ship wreck to be Krakeneater head, so it can be interchanged with the head (all magnetized Megas on the internet don't have the ship?).

Edit: Sorry, for the bad quality of the picture.

  9. Hey guys,

I am reading through the Broken Realms book right now and i am loving Morathi so far.

So i was thinking about fielding that sweet sweet modell.

The only "problem" is that i don't have any DoK or CoS units (aka dark aelves).

It is possible to field her in Grand Alliance order with the rules from the GHB2020 right?

Would the following list be possible and do you have any ideas for optimisation?

I started with a 1k point list but a 2k list would also be cool.

    Leaders
    Morathi-Khaine (210)
    The Shadow Queen (390)

    Battleline
    20 x Arkanaut Company (180)
    5 x Liberators (90)
    - Warhammer & Shield
    5 x Liberators (90)
    - Warhammer & Shield

    Total: 960 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 58

    I own the following modells:

    KO:

    Thundrik and friends

    Endrinmaster with suit

    20 Arkanauts

    5 Thunderers

    6 Endrinrigger

    1 Gunhauler

    1 Ironclad

    Stormcast:

    Vandus Hammerhand

    Lord Celestent

    Lord Castelant

    Lord Relictor

    20 Liberators

    3 Prosecutors

    5 Protectors

    5 Decimators

I am curious to hear your thoughts. :)

Mortal Realms: Morathi got me hyped to play dark elfes lead by Morathi. That would mean Har Kuron or pure DoK.

I am on kind of a budget due to Covid and stuff.

What would you recommend to buy?

I had thought about something like this for 1k5 games. In times of Covid only fighting Orcs and LRL. The Assassin is a cool modell and i need 8 units.

    Cities of Sigmar

    HarKuron

    1x Shadow Queen

    1x Morathi

    1x Sorceress (general, Vitriolic Spray)

    1x Assassin

    Battleline:

    30x Darkshards

    10x Executioners

    10x Dreadspears

    10x Dreadspears

    Endless Spells:

    Balewind Vortex

    Spellportals

I tinkered a bit more. Now i am torn between 20 Darkshards and 20 Executioners or 30 Darkshards and 10 Executioners.

    What do you guys think?:)

Got some days off next week so hopefully my buddies can get some games in.  I want to try out an all Gutbusters BloodGullet army; here's what I can have ready:

Tyrant (general, Nice Drop, Splatter Cleaver, Fateseeker for the Big Name)

    Butcher (Ribcracker, Greasy Deluge)

SlaughterMaster (Shrunken Head for the 5++, Blood Feast, Greasy Deluge in case the Butcher dies or wants to cast the Voracious Maw spell)

Firebelly (Billowing Ash Cloud...though looking at Firey Whirlwind, that could be pretty strong if he can get close enough, and easier to cast)

    6 Gluttons w Fists

    8 IronGuts

    4 Leadbelchers

    4 more IronGuts.....or 6 more Leadbelchers?

    Goremand

Balewind Vortex/ Emerald Lifeswarm/ Chronomantic Cogs/ Extra CP

    1980 points

I could dump the Firebelly for more Gluttons, or even the Tyrant's Gutguard I guess, then I could get the Bloodrock Talisman on the Butcher too and dump the extra CP probably.  I think the Tyrant could get the Splatter Cleaver to work about as well as the FLoSH could if he gets into combat.   I've never used the Cogs but in this type of army I think they could be useful for the extra spell or the extra charge range if needed.

Should be good fun, as I want to try my 5 Stonehorn/1 Thundertusk army against the same enemy army and mission to compare performance.  Will magic and healing be as wonderful as the resilient brute monster force?  I'll make sure to find out!

Firebelly in a Bloodgullet tribe?! How dare you?😂

i like it. my biggest worry is still objective play. Since there are a lot of senario''s where we have to protect 3 and try to get a fourth.  The kraken eater does only count as 1 model for allies outside of SOB. It means we still keep our biggest weakness trying to control the objective part.

Yes, but we would have a beatstick who can take and give a punch (At least better then paladins) and block some area.

  14. I think i kinda like that the new Sons aren't so competitive /the next step on the escalation of power lader. For me that takes away a bit of pressure to try to compete with the top of the top, so i can just have fun and face off against not optimized lists.

The battletome and the cards are ordered and i already have a Mancrusher. So it will be a Megagargant and a box of Mancrushers for me to play 1000p games. But i will not by the modells as soon as them come out. I will hold my horses and put a lot of thinking in colorsceme and how i will build my gargants. And who knows, maybe some beautiful gargant lover people find a way to make them work.

  15. I think i will built my gargant as a mix of all three gargants. So i can field him as i wish.

The gatebreaker hood is set so maybe the krakeneater net in his right and the empty hand of the warstomper as his right? Or just exchange the flayel of the garebreaker withe the gunclub?

    hmm, options...

We can only take 3 Endless Spells now, that's a new rule for Matched Play I think from the GHB.  But they're certainly useful!  I might recommend the Balewind Vortex for a Butcher, Emerald Lifeswarm, and Chronomantic Cogs.  The Butcher could have the Wizardflesh Apron, and cast 3 spells per turn atop the Vortex at +1 next to the Mawpot.  Not too shabby!

Fit in a Slaughtermaster (for the potential Troggoth Guts) and FLoSH with Splatter-cleaver, and that helps with healing even more.   Guess the Butcher's Band is good for the healing.  I like the Goremand for the 2x Cauldron effect, but healing is pretty nice as a theme.

I haven't looked at Ghyran lately, do they have an artefact to help with healing?  Probably not as good as the Splatter-cleaver though.

    Thanks for the answer man!

The balewind is set i guess, but that mens i have 40 p left to spend on endless spells. So no liveswarm or cogs...

What spells would you put in? Maelstorm plus a 30p spell sounds good to me.🤔
