Indeed, between so many options to put a hurting on large models like concentrating mortal wounds, anti-monster bonuses, mass troop buffs, Endless Spells and using dangerous scenery to weaken monstrous enemies until they're low on their wound chart and too weak to be effective it's not that tough to balance a gargant army.

Thus i'm eagerly waiting to see how they balance that out in the Sons favor with what magic and monsters they've gathered from around the Realms.

I'm expecting a few gargant kits but I'm hoping they go all out and give us multiple sub-factions of monsters like gargant priests from Hysh that heal, Aqshy titan soldiers from the fallen Khanate with Magmadroth-like beasts and frozen Jotunns from Ghyran that froze the oceans to help Alarielle escape Nurgle. Just a huge family gathering from across the realms for the death of their father and revenge on those that killed him (maybe also against Nagash in a desire to bring the God-beast back).

I'm a bit hopeful for this since GW said the Lumineth is "how they're going forward" which with the focus on diverse sub-faction models I hope it's in that vein of more Mortal Realms variety inside a faction.

I (extremely! ) want either that or Excelsis to be part of a new global campaign with the players help decide the outcome of the city and Ghur. Will it be saved and stand as a stronghold proving to Gordrakk that Sigmar isn't just cowering behind civilization and put their sights on Chaos and Death or will it fall and force the inhabitants to relocate with the new Ghur map and leave the realm open for Gordrakk and the Sons to threaten the other great cities and force the God-king to act at the cost of losing sight of Nagash and Archaon's battles and schemes

Also we definitely need the Lumineth Mountain geomancers to wake the violent spirits in Ghur so the already beastly mountains can move and go into a kaiju army battle with the Sons. Sons of the stone titan vs literal stone titan monsters. :D

The Global Campaign would be amazing, players actively affecting the story of the Mortal Realms as it moves forward.

I agree with the variety of Gargant kits. Ever since they were hinted at in the Old World Reveal I've been talking and posting about the variety of units and how insane GW could go, most people go "Look at the Knights you'll get one or two new Kits blah blah blah" but as others have said the Knights are already available for other armies in 40K and the Gargants will be a thing all their own!!

I want Ranged Gargants with ballistae sized bows and Cannon sized handguns.

Shamans with actual trees for staffs.

Soldiers with Armour plating, Chieftans and King Brodd himself.

I want Mammoths as Mounts and Scenery Pieces

Large Cave Bears as hunting dogs, Half-Gargants that fill the role of Armigers just shorter than an Aleguzzlar.

The Aleguzzlar to become the runt of the army.

And I'd love if every Gargant was tall enough to look Archaon directly in the eye. Monstrous beasts that deserve the title of Gargant, that tower over Ghorgons and Cygors.

Last but not least, Johans extended family. A bunch of extra Human and Free Cities soldiers to decorate our bases running screaming in terror.

Just a note the UK just put some stricter rules in place - so all the GW stores will be closed. Furthermore this could start to impact GW directly too as they are not an essential company. Tabletop Combat has already closed their factory and office doors for the duration and won't be doing any further work. Postal services might also be affected as whilst post offices might remain open; many are often located within shops and other retail outlets that might be forced to close.

Guaranteed that GW and its factories will close. Very understandable and for the better. Selfishly I wonder if we will still have the Previews though.

A lot of people are excited for sons and I'm happy for them but all I can think of is the atrocious imbalance that knights brought to 40k and I view a similar army for AoS with trepidation. That much plastic costs a lot of money and I don't even begrudge them that the sons will probably come out overpowered. Every new army has to be tuned after its release into the wild. I just worry that selling an army of $100+ kits will have the suits too excited to let the actual game designers do their job.

On that note I do think they can get it right and I hope they do.

I actually expect more kits because nobody has mentioned the idea of things like half giant infantry (kurnoth hunter or armiger sized) or maybe mammoth mounted ballista? There is more available to giants than just giants.

I've always wanted at least 3 new kits. A fully modular Gargant kit with Standard, Armoured and Ranged versions. A Leader kit with the option of King Brodd, Chieftain or Shaman.

The third kit to be Half-Gargants as you mention in place of Armigers but I feel that the Aleguzzlar will actually fulfil this role.

And Scenery, in place of traditional scenery the piece will actually be a Pack Mammoth, loaded with armour and ammo that provides a buff to the Gargants with High Wounds low Saves. Alternatively the Mammoth could be used as a mount for the Cheiftan. There could be large Cave Bears that are used as almost Hunting Dogs.

As for gameplay I would hope that GW learned from their mistakes with the IK.

I have some old metal Kislev units, i was planning on converting them into realm of Ghur hunters for Izalend but now i'll likely sell them to get these as their ice magic aesthetic fits the Mortal Realms better. (Though i'll wait to get a model size confirmation. I don't need lady midgets in a Ghurian Freeguild army xD)

Surprised this got shown off before the reveals though, since concept art is so big at Adepticon this was probably gonna be a big reveal but got downgraded to news filler.

Oh well, big Lumineth and Sons of Behemet reveals instead then. :D

I'm also hoping for a new campaign book. So much has happened between Gordrakk's and Kataros' stories that I think they should release another one this year for everything going on in the realms, especially at Excelsis.

If we get a full Son's reveal I'll lose my mind.

    -full sons of behemat

    - a couple of new aelves units

-Scions of the flame for warcry

-They said there would be news from underworlds, but they showed daughters of khaine in GAMA, so i expect NEXT BLOOD BOWL TEAM!!!!!!!!

-For 40k full Fabius bile and maybe the next P.A.  too. Or teaser of new edition.

    -"Big" Blackstone expansion.

    - I suppose that something new in plastic from other games like Titanicus or Hobbit

    - teaser of  a new specialist game?

I'd love a full Sons of Behemat reveal, honestly we will only be getting 2 or 3 kits max, so why not unveil them?

I think Sons might get a tease - artwork, maybe part of new model. But I think that's why they split the preview shows.

I think they might put Lumineth up for pre-orders pretty soon, and then move to Sons of Behemat.

    My predictions are

    - Lumineth full reveal

    - AoS book campaign book (like Wrath of Everchosen)

    - Sons tease

    - news about Underwolrds (new season?)

    - Scions of Flame - War Cry season 2

    - Wh40 next chapter of Psychic Awakening, but I think it's too little so I wouldn't be suprised by some big hit - like Fabius + Fulgrim.

    - Blackstone Fortress Expansion

    - Specialist Games stuff.

Anything Sons is all I'm hoping for, that and the New Campaign book.

I note that Adepticon should have started on 25th.  Given that the preview isn't until 28th I wonder if they are preparing a bit more material to pad things out for us?

Also, it is of course the usual 'Sunday' slot.

I dont know if there will be anything extra honestly, I think they've just given themselves a few days extra to get prepared for a purely online reveal rather than the show and then post to Warhammer Community.

All I'm hoping is that they don't split the various presentation topics between the two showcases.  To use the Lumineth as an example (as they are near and dear to my heart), if they show half the models on the 28th and the other half on the 4th, just to ensure viewership through both presentations.

Unfortunately I think this definitely will happen. If they had all of AOS announcements on the first day, there would be a drop in viewers for the second as there are some who have no interest in 40K and vice versa, spreading them between the week ensures views.

GW might be a bit careful with their previews until they know what options for worldwide distribution they have.

I was thinking this would affect the amount shown. I do believe they planned it to be the biggest show ever but they may hold off on showing certain things so people arent sat here wondering a year from now when are they going to happen.

On the video they said there will be an article this week about "Warhammer: the old world".

Well, that was another preview of a preview...

They should also have a Lumineth article tomorrow, right?

I just cant be bothered with the Old World now that we have AOS, and the fact that its Years away still.

On Katakros base you can find Lumineth corpses and items... and lot´s of gargant bones and skulls.

Before even the Lumineth were revealed, so...

I've noticed a lot of Bonereapers have large skulls on their base such as the Mortisan Boneshaper. I thought that was interesting and now since the Sons are coming it was definitely purposeful.

Agreed. Something with a more stocky, healthier build would be great. Would let the gargants be the degenerate off shoot. But still fit.

That's how I'm envisioning them going forward with the Aleguzzlar. The drunken runt of the litter.

Love the hints for the giants coming in.

I want this giant army to be great, will look amazing on the table across from my ogors haha

It's been a dream army of mine ever since I saw the Marauder Giant way back 20 years ago. To be this close to an announcement and release is driving my hype levels insane.

I think that releases that are already planned like Lumineth and Behemat (we have seen transport logs to US) won't be postponed if anything that could speed them up but pandemic might hit future releases with potential closure of factories and transport chain problems involving China, where spells, terrain etc are manufactured.

    100% agree.

I'm adding a new prediction: A Wrath of the Everchosen type campaign book for Order vs Destruction with a bunch of new subfactions and so forth for Destruction, especially Gloomspite Gitz.

Order VS Destruction Siege of Excelsis would be my dream. Narrative could be Gordrakk assaulting Excelsis and almost coming out on top before the Lumineth show up and beat him back. At the last moment the ground begins to tremble and the Sons of Behemat arrive to smash against the defences. In the end Excelsis stands but is a fraction of its former glory.

I just hope the Lumineth will be fully revealed on the first event, and be available for preorder from the following day.

We have been drip-fed for along time, and dragging this further on doesn’t make much sense.

If GW doesn’t release them soon likely they won’t be able to ship anything out anymore. Might be too late already.

They could focus on something else for AoS on the second event.

I would say that they're ready to go with the Lumineth,  though with the global pandemic I could see later releases postponed so perhaps other things they were going to unveil will be kept hidden as to keep the masses banging on the door.
