So any guesses for this Saturday other than more aelves and possibly giants (tho I don't think we'll see them until what would have been warhammerfest)

    New bloodbowl team?

    Next battlebox?

    New campaign book?

Something completely out of left field?

I think  we'll get a teaser for the Sons this weekend and the reveal at the Warhammerfest Previews.

For AoS, I don't think we'll see more Lumineth unless it's part of a battlebox, which is not too unlikely, a lot of new armies have gotten battleboxes recently. We're also about due for a battlebox with the last one coming out two months ago.

I think some kind of teaser for Sons of Behemet is almost certain, personally, but we'll see.

New Campaign book also seems likely, but could just as easily be next reveal show.

I don't think we'll see anything new for Underworlds or Warcry until May.

I believe the Sons teaser will also be this weekend. All the words describing the event have been plays on Giant in some way or another so I'm expecting a teaser, hopefully.

The start is the best part of it. Because at that point a faction can still be 100% the “army of your dreams” for everyone.

It’s sad for me to see that quite a lot of people who were posting excitedly at the start of the Lumineth threat (and even in its predecessors) are really disappointed in what the Lumineth turned out to be, some of them waiting for 5 years like myself.

I’m lucky, because although the army turned out to be quite different from what I imagined it would be in many ways, I really like the outcome. It’s in many ways better than I thought.

But sadly community-wise , there was more excitement and fun at the start. Which is also important.

Honestly I really enjoy the Lumineth range, I've been a Fantasy player since the 90s and left for a decade to return to AOS and I love the range. I was never a High Elf player though so maybe I'm not biased.

But yes I'm in the dream stage right now so I'm hoping to see at least some concept art this weekend so I have an idea what I'm in for.

Hard to say. It looks like the current situation will go on for a while. And in terms of Lumineth, they made a whole lot out of showing off two new units essentially. If they really still have one or more of the elemental factions fully fledged out on hand, I guess you won't see that much of other new factions yet. A teaser like the Pointy Aelves vid maybe?

Who knows. At least they are pretty successful in keeping up the suspense. I've been following each little tidbit of information about the Lumineth, and still have no idea if maybe see 3 more units (plus spells/terrain) and that it, or what we have seen so far is just the beginning of the range.

You'll be in for quite a ride with the SoB : ).

And I cannot wait for that ride to begin. :)

We might not see Sons of Behemat too soon. I doubt GW want to overstuff us with upcoming stuff we might not get anytime soon.

    I'm thinking

    AoS

    Another Lumineth reveal

Wrath of Everchosen alike book  - as they can release them in digital form and sell as unlike Psychic Awakening they do not come with new models

maybe Sons of Behemat teaser - like some kind of video like Jurrasic Park water trembling

    Wh40

Some new models for sure, possibly new army - something big.

And some stuff that was absent from previous reveal

    Blackstone Fortress expansion/new game

Underworlds new season tease or reveal as they've already showed all warbands for Beastgrave if I'm correct.

    Necromunda expansion/gang

All I'd need is a Sons teaser, not even any models shown. Though I would absolutely love a new Campaign book as well, especially if its Order Vs Destruction.

I've been out of the 40K loop for some time but a new Xeno army would always be welcome.

Here's hoping! After my initial thoughts on a Gordrakk campaign have the Sons fight living Ghur mountains brought to lifeel by the Lumineth now I need that with the awesome new mountain spirits and Realm-lord hammerers smashing into Ironjawz for a titantic brawl. :D

It would be epic. Heres hoping its announced next weekend or the Sons are unveiled because waiting till May for a reveal will drive me mad!!

The Sons of Behemat better have something to compete with that amazing  Mountain Spirit!!  They are going to be huuuuge

I hope they tower over them. My dream is that they go for an AOS twist on the Game of Thrones Giant. Massively tall with think limbs covered in furs.

  7. The Stone Spirits if anything have just made me all the more excited for the Sons of Behemat. Huge stocky brutes, I'm leaning almost in a way to the aesthetic of the Giants of Game of Thrones. Covered in furs with very thick limbs. If they're even taller than the Stone Spirits all the better.

I'm hoping we get a knights like release. With enough parts to have them inspired by any of the four factions.

Chaos gargants bursting with horns and mutations. Destructions original Sons pure to their fathers. Orders Giants kept tame with copious amount of ale and food to keep the peace and the rotten lumbering husks of undead.

But have them all be usable together when Behemats Warhorn sounds as a stomping band of beasts doing what they do best and terraforming faces.

Personally I hope they just stay a Destruction Faction. The Aleguzzlar works with Chaos and Order already and perhaps Death will have it's own Undead Construct soon enough. I want them to be their own force, Aleguzzlars are Mercenaries working for Ale whilst the Sons are a pure army, not working with other Races and Factions as they're literally beneath them.

Cow is just the avatar of mountain, the spirit of mountain is not even a living creature but a grand statue possessed by the natural spirits.
It has no connection with Slannesh except shared elements of the same animal

Other paths such as wind and river will also have their own animal avatar of the natural power, just like the god beast in princess mononoke.

I cant wait to see the Avatar of the other Spirits of Hysh. Especially River.

As I said in my earlier post- Cow people or Slaanesh.

Both pretty removed from Aelves. Or indeed the powerful, muscular redoubtable cattle of the mountains that supposedly are the aspect that the Aelves are imprinting here. A more noble and stoic form of Great Beast could totally work.

But not another athletic statuesque human form with cow head.

I'm thinking that the Sons of Behemat are going to be far more stocky than the Aleguzzlar and perhaps went with a different aesthetic as to not clash. Clutching at strings I know.

My guess is two boxes for the Sons in a similar vain to Chaos Knights. Brodd/Hero/Priest and a more standard Giant with a few weapon options.

Then in a few years we might see an expansion to the range if they're a success.

I'm expecting 2 kits but fingers crossed for a 3rd. Just to get out ahead of themselves with the inevitable money about to be thrown at them.

If we are going with SoB predictions - I will aim for fences here... I'm going with 4 new kits + the Aleguzzler for 5 in total with a breakdown as follows:

    1) Dualkit: King Brodd / Warrior Chief;

    2) Dualkit: Mage Gargant hero / Priest Gargant hero;

    3) Dualkit: Lightly armoured and armed Gargant warriors (up to 3 per unit)/ Heavily armoured Gargant 'hoplite-esque' warriors with spears/pikes (up to 3 per unit);

    4) Dualkit: Skirmisher ranged Gargants (throwing nets, huge bolas or spears - up to 3 per unit) / Siege weapon Gargants - gargant-handling ballistas ofc (up to 3 per unit); and

    5) Good ol' Aleguzzler Gargants as the 'chaff' throwaway red-haired outrageously drunk stepchild of the faction.

In total I'm thinking of armies ranging on average from half a dozen to a dozen models at 2K points.

Dont do that. Dont give me hope. I love these idea and have had a few myself. I too would love all of these, maybe a Scenery Piece as well in the form of a Mammoth carrying Weapons and Ammo. I just cant wait to see what were going to get, an all Giant army has been my dream ever since seeing the Marauder Giant over 20 years ago.

Awesome thanks both! If the mountain king is anything to go by, new giant sculpts...🤤

Oh yes I was so excited looking at them because I just kept thinking this beautiful monster is for Aelves!? What could the Gargants possibly get!? Something on that level but Destructive and Crude and Monstrous. My body is waiting ever patiently for our Gargant overlords.

Do we have any rumours of kits for SoB's? I'm trying to keep my expectations low and just expecting a repackage of the gargant kit and rules like the FEC.

Would love to see them next week!

Well they have had the Battletome and Warscroll cards shipping manifests leaked. I highly doubt they would bring out a whole Battletome and an assortment of Warscrolls cards for One repackaged model. If I were to wager a guess I would say the Sons will get at least 2 new kits with my fingers crossed for a 3rd and then have the Aleguzzlar included in their ranks bringing the total kits to 3/4. Obviously variation amongst the kits, perhaps King Brodd/Chieftain/Shaman for one and then a Standard/Soldier/Siege/Ranged unit for the other.

    Thoughts and impressions:

AOS: The Hammer models look amazing and I will need some of those crests they have on top of their helmets. The big Cow Mountain model is not my favourite, but I do like that evokes a Keeper of Secrets and look forward to seeing those two models go toe to toe.

The Scions look way cooler than I would have expected and I really want to get them. However I might use them as characters in my Chaos army as opposed to a unit. I might want to use the one with the staff as a Sorcerer Lord and the unit champion as a Chao Lord, maybe the Executioner as a Dark Oath Chieftain. Is this something that would be frowned upon?

LOTR: I do not need a Rohan army, I do not need a Rohan army... Éomer looks fantastic and the Rohirrim are my favourite of Tolkien's cultures. But I do not need a Rohan army...

40K:  Fabius Bile looks great and seems like a fun character. I am thinking of starting 40k when I finish up my Idoneth Deppkin and Emperors Children seems like it might be the direction I take (Chaos Knights, Chaos Space Marines and Necrons are my other interests).

Lion El’Jonson seems like a cool model and I enjoyed the animated work and might check it out.

Overall: I liked almost everything but feel let down after all the hype. Hopefully, we get some info about the Son's next week.

I'm chomping at the bit for some Sons info. Seeing as the Lumineth and the Scions were shown off for AOS this weekend, it leaves only the Sons or something completely new for next weekend. If there is still no Sons, there is always Warhammerfest Previews.

well Lumineath just got Space Cow Mountain Gargants with hammers so anything is possible these days

I cannot wait to see what the Sons will look like after they showed the Lumineth.

Unfortunately nothing this weekend but there is always next!! And a Preview will be surely on in May in replace of Warhammerfest.
