@Hamicron do you have a few more photos please !?

@CDM Ask and you shall receive (a few weeks later haha). Forgive the photos don’t have a proper light box for photos.

I have English Civil War soldiers for my professional Handgunners led by some old Confrontation sharpshooters.

Mordheim Sisters of Sigmar as Hammerers.

    War Altar as the Luminarch.

The assorted Witch Hunters I use as Shadow Warriors (No one expects the Azyrite Inqusition!)

The pair are Trevor Belmont and Sypha from Castlevania using the rules for the Elven Lumineth Twins.
The Witch Hunters with the oversized weapons led by the Ogre are Khadaron Thunderers.
The Red Coated, Dual Wielding Anime Badass TM is using the rules for Brokk Grungson

and then the Sequitors as they look the part of Crusading types from the Stormcast range.

I think I’ll be repainting the Phoenix in red flames at some point as I made a concession to competitive play running it as a frostheart.  Tried to paint it so it looked like it’s so hot it’s blue flame but not really feeling it

  2. I’ve actually built a Witch Hunter army. I used Cities as you can use a lot of the options there unchanged and the wide variety of allies and coalition units mean you can build anything you want.

I expanded the idea of the army to include Holy Warriors, Professional Soldiers and Pop Culture guests.

There’s the official Order of Azyr models like the Ven Densts and Hexbanes Hunters. Alongside Stormcast Sequitors for their robed Palladin look.

My general unit of Witch Hunters use Shadow Warrior rules. I use old Mordheim Sisters of Sigmar as Hammerers. RunePriests become Warrior Priests. Luminark becomes a Shrine of Sigmar.

I’ve got a Dante (from Devil May Cry series) that uses Brokk Grungisson from the Arkonauts profile; Trevor Belmont and Sypha (from Castlevania) that use the rules for Ellania and Ellathor from the Lumineth; Vampire Hunter D who I’ve not decided on best represents him rules wise..

I want to build some Mobile Shrines carried on Steam Tanks next

3d printing, kit bashing and 3rd party will be your friends.
Its a really cool theme with quite a bit you can do with it if you get creative!

  3. Not really true. The difficulty is Prince V is a very self contained package of PUNCH HARD so can slot into virtually any type of list. You’ll probably want something else durable and fighty to take advantage of Prince V Command ability; ideally something that can in return offer V something back like increased survivability (Neferetta) or optimising damage output (Radukar the Beast, Mannfred, Nagash if your crazy) or a utility piece for a artefact/traits (Vengorian Lord, VLoZD).

After this you probably want some mobile Lane blockers like Dire Wolves, Fell Bats or even at a push Black Knights to help prevent PV getting bogged down in the wrong fights.

Then you look to shore up the weaknesses of the list; Claiming and protecting objectives, grinding fights and shooting. So either big or tough units and this is where Soulblight opens up as there are just so many options. Zombies, Skeletons, Grave Guard, Blood Knights.. All with a slightly different role and focus.

Prince V naturally lends himself to being played in the Kastelai dynasty as they’ll get to benefit from all the traits and artefacts. But again their self contained nature let’s you drop it into other dynasties without major issues.

If I was buying my way into Soulblight I’d grab the Flesh Eater Courts start collecting for Prince V (and some Vargheists) (flip the ghouls If you can), Start collecting Soulblight (20 Graveguard are great) and then a box of Dire Wolves. Better to start small and build out.

I’m definitely having a hard time coming up with a settlers list that isn’t a bunch of freeguild. Anyone have some advice? I primarily want to run them for a small unit of sentinels and a wind mage or loreseeker mixed in with Krondys as coalition.

This is the best list I can think up within those requirements:

    Krondys
    Runelord
    - General
    Scinari Loreseeker

    Battleline
    30 x Irondrakes
    - Reinforced x 2
    10 x Longbeards
    10 x Freeguild Guard
    10 x Freeguild Guard

    Units
    20 x Vanari Auralan Sentinels
    - Reinforced x 1
    Soulscream Bridge (70)

    Total: 1995 / 2000

Lots of spellcasters and you can lean into making magic hard for your opppont through Drain Magic and all the Dispels. The bridge helps you move about what would be a quite slow list otherwise.  Best I can come up within those guidelines.

  5. Yes multiple Spirits of the Wind present a problem for any army without much shooting, their armour is made of paper but that’s no help if you can’t get to them. Lumineth are pretty overtooled and lack any real weaknesses besides having relatively few bodies.

Ive been noodling around a list using multiple Mortis Engines. Like 4. Not exactly reliable weapons of war but they might have some legs with fewer big units around..

I've got my own ideas, but I'd like to get the community's opinion on how to fight a list that's been giving my group a lot of trouble. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of models so changing the list is less of an option for me.

    What I'm fighting:

      Reveal hidden contents

    One drop battalion, ignore battleshock

    Teclis

    2x10 Wardens (spears)

    30 Sentinels (bows)

    Gotrek

    What I've been using:

      Hide contents

2,000pts Command battalion, Hunters of the Heartlands battalion, 10 drops

C - Wight King on steed - General, 12" re-roll charge command trait, amulet of destiny

C - Vampire Lord on zombie dragon - AoE mortal wound spell

    C - Necromancer - -1 attack spell

Prince Vordrai - Pinions (+6" move spell)

    C - 20 zombies

    HH - 20 zombies

    HH - 20 grave guard

    HH - 5 blood knights

    2x3 fell bats

    I also have:

    1 mega gargant

    20 grave guard

    1 Necromancer

The major problem is that Teclis dominates the magic phase, The archers and teleportation prevent me from just hanging back on objectives, and Gotrek + Teclis + unleash hell, kill anything that gets close. I've had some success by killing the spears and playing keep away, but he just teleports, shoots, and finishes whatever off with Teclis. The closest I've gotten it is a single priority roll determining winner. (Which he has won each time thus far. :P) It's just such an uphill fight. Any ideas for tactics? List changes with what I have?

I freely acknowledge that this is more of a gatekeeper list than an unstoppable meta build. I just have a limited set of models to work with and wanted to pick up some tactical ideas. I'm trying to practice for a GT in November.

Thanks for any brainstorming. I hope you have a good week.

    Cheers

So there’s certainly a few bits I’d rearrange. If you have another 20 Grave Guard get them in. It’s a double Dragon list so you want bodies and extra threats besides the Dragons.

To fit them in I’d cut the Wight King, Necromancer and sadly one unit of Fell Bats.

Make the Dynasty Kastelai so the Blood Knights make up your 3rd Battleline.

Otherwise play the objectives which you can do much better. Keep an eye on what spells are going off. Save those dispels for stopping Power of Hysh on the archers. You’ve got no chance of stopping Teclis so let him go.
The archers are so so without the PoH on them.

I'm kind of pissed we can't use the Redeploy or Unleash Hell abilities.

I assume we're restricted to one command ability cast/received, like everyone else?

It wouldn’t have hurt to just have a line in the FAQ just clarifying this.

But I think so, we’re restricted on Command Abilities like everyone else. Even more RDP will be flying around but harder to use them effectively.

At least Petrifex is back with a bang!

The only reason would be if you wanted to forgo greatblades altogether for the aesthetic, and so you can just roll one type of dice for the whole unit. Otherwise, you should put one on the leader.

Cheers chosen_of_khaine. That’s what I figured but as I’m only just starting out with Age of Sigmar thought it best to check.
