There is a set with hamners and similar heads in empire knights kits those may be easier to get (I know I have some 16 or so), are they Knights of Ulric?

The storied hairy head sprue :D

I've already got a lot of these, and the heads are much too small for dwarfs, even modern ones; and even if they did, Ulric is a silly, archaic god, with an inbred, fish-eyed, and downright wretched smelling congregation; and my dwarfs have way too many grudges against the armies of Middenland to ever want to style their beards like them. 😊

Broken Realms: Morathi, the first book in a series of new AoS narrative supplements is out, and brings with it two new Cities of Sigmar in Misthåvn and Har Kuron (well, one of them belongs to Sigmar, the other definitely doesn't), complete with full sets of allegiance abilities to allow you to field armies hailing from them in game. With this, and putting off the pile of work building up on my desk in mind, I've updated my previous very silly interactive quiz for anyone interested in collecting a CoS army, but unsure where it should come from with both of the new cities. I hope you enjoy.

    Gyrocopters! Any C&c is appreciated.IMG_1843.JPG.8e17ac8e46da929a7c7e02c3b3f8f920.JPG

First thought: I love them 💗

Second thought: I love them and they're perfect 💗💗💗

Third thought: Where do you live, because there are a couple of Gyrocopter propeller bits I use twice in all my converted gyrocopters, and usually have to end up buying a second gyrocopter for...

A spark is only a tiny fragment of a fire, but it can still start one. Maybe Morathi had the kindling of a god, and just needed a few sparks.

At any rate, we know because GW has stated her to be a god outside the context of in-world narrative. If a character says something in a story the character could be wrong, but if the author says something about the story it is cannon.

Not casting any aspersions, just haven't been paying the most attention to tie in articles, ect for this book, but could you direct me to where GW have said this?

Quick skim and all I've found is the GW store page for the book (which is almost defiantly not written by different people to the ones who wrote the book's background, making authorial intent bunk) saying it contains 'The epic story of Morathi’s rise to godhood', while the Broken Realms website gives more ambiguous descriptions of 'the story of Morathi's aspirations to ascend to godhood', and Morathi herself as having a 'quest for a divine apotheosis'.

Bearing in mind that GW publicity material has previously described the Dark Angels as loyalists and Slaanesh as a guy you'd want at parties. ;)

  6. Right, read the book. Is Morathi even a god, or just announcing to people that she's a god? 'All' she's done has been visit the inside of Slaanesh, eat the souls of the 10 Pheonix Kings who aren't Aenarion (presumably imbued with some of Asuryan's essence, otherwise they wouldn't be especially worth eating, though they couldn't have contained all of Asuryan between them, as the Shrine of Asuryan was able to create a Pheonix King post Finubar in Malekith - if you ate every Stormcast Sigmar would still be there), get her spirit form cut in two by Aenarion because she's still horny for him, and he's ****ing Aenarion), and come back as one soul/mind in two miniatures bodies, picking up a load of very old Idoneth souls nobody really cares about on the way.

After doing this, Morathi tells her followers and the Idoneth they're fighting that she's now Morathi-Khaine, and has 'bonded with the last vestiges of the Bloody-Handed God', when we the reader have seen her devour some of the last, but certainly not the last when Aenarion's soul and Malerion both still exist bits of Asuryan, unless you grasp at some very abstract straws and conclude that 'last vestiges of [Khaine]' alludes to Asuryan and Khaine being twin brothers, or to the soul of Aenarion (who's probably got more of Khaine in him than any other elf) transforming into what's clearly the Sword of Khaine to go King Solomon on her, and somehow passing on Khaine's last scrapings that way.

There was also a bit of the Oak of Ages namedropped as part of the ritual, but the Oak of Ages has always been more about the scheduled rebirth of an existing god in Kurnos (who seems to be around in AoS, albeit with a different syllable at the end of his name) than the creation of new ones.

In conclusion, I don't really know how it's possible to infer that all 'Morathi-Khaine's' actually done has been absorb probably less than 1% of the essence of Asuryan, a dead god who isn't Khaine, not finish what she'd Fantastic Voyage'd Slaanesh to do (whether just eat Aenarion's soul, or eat Aenarion's soul and more), and wake up back in Uglu with a bit of divinity, but not very much, and both her previous looks at the same time. It's nice to imagine that she never had a clue how to become a god, and subconsciously went to all this trouble because she wanted to see Aenarion for a bit, only for the first and greatest of the Pheonix Kings to be repulsed and enraged enough at the site of her to chop her up.

  7. If you're a dwarf duradin  convertor like me, you'll know that decent plastic bare heads are like gold dust,  and the optional head on Jakob Bugmansson XI, this year's limited edition Christmas model is 48 karat.

    99120205038_JakkobBugmanssonFeature.jpg

I'm already planning on picking up a dozen or so Jakobs, purely as a head reserve, but on the off chance you've ordered him and intend to build him with his equally cool Kharadron headgear, and the aforementioned helmetless head is going spare, I'd be very happy to pay a reasonable price for it, or even trade it for any other specific bits if I have them.

Based in the UK, but happy to pay for postage from anywhere. Thanks for looking at this thread, please spread the word to any Kharadron players you know. :D

I use mine as Stormcast celestar ballistae. I love the models too much to stop using them.

Not sure I’ll be able to use them with the new faction though... 😕

Those are some properly nice artillery pieces. 😍😍😍

And I have no idea what you'd use them as without Stormcast or Ironweld artillery. Har Kuron can still take CoS's usual allies, so Kurnoth Hunters with bows at a massive push...?

She's only 1 entry in an army list. In a RAW kind of way this leads me to believe she'll just count as one.

RAW it's 1 in every 4 units in a Har Kuron army can be a Daughters of Khaine unit. Morathi, much like an underworlds warband  made up of a  small unit and separate hero is two separate units, on two separate warscrolls, you're just required to pay for them together, and take them together in matched play games.

I'm honestly not sure the city rules make up for also losing honored retinue, general's adjutant,  and the empowered endless spells

Losing the general's retinue and adjutant's only a hit if you were planning on taking a general on foot anyway, but I agree that empowered endless spells are CoS's biggest crutch, even if it is possible to play without them. I don't know enough about DoK to know if they and the new prayer are a adequate trade off, though I can imagine the temptation to run Morathi's new rules could be.

a lot  of list I see here are dwarf or free guild focused, but if I were to be looking at Tempest's Eye from a largely AelvesAelves/Dark Elves perspective,  what would y'all recommend?

Totally. Tempest Eye's got a pretty great set of allegiance abilities in that they're very cosmopolitan and make everything better.

Phoenix Guard are a popular CoS unit, and all the Dark Elf stuff bar Drakespawn Knights seems pretty recommended. I'm sure there are people who use more aelf units than me who can elaborate on this.

It would be a bit nicer if you used a few periods and commas, or just, well, sentences.

Technically, the chosen axes were released after the initial AoS release. Then there's Gotrek, though his Fyreslayer status is a bit hazy.

I do agree the Fyreslayer range is small and still repetetive, but frankly, I'm not sure what the last half of your sentence means.

In my mind the range isn't small enough. Modern dwarf duardin models come to about the same height as a Freeguild soldier, and the Fyreslayers are the tallest of the lot.

I like the idea of Cities changing, I hope it happens more as the story progresses through various realms.

It allows for interesting narratives to happen, keep things fresh and allow for new lists and unit options.

Yep, though if they're going the way of Anvilgard/Har-Whatever, they might want to drop the 'of Sigmar' suffix going forward 😜

(Pls Grungni take over Greywater Fastness, u were always my pal and I need more cannons 🙏🙏🙏)

  14. So, there's been a decent amount of CoS rumbling on TGA of late with the two new city allegiances in Broken Realms: Morathi about to drop.

The CoS WhatsApp group is still very active, if anyone would like to get in on it, please send me a message, or post in this thread for an invite link. :)

So anvilguard is lost and with it we loose too the mount traits doing more useless even umplayable models as black dragons, good way to sell the new box with the dragon games workshop.

Also as city of sigmar player i get great bives having one of my alegiances being deleted.......i feel so safe to buy more models knowing that these models and rules gonna stay for a while and wont be deleted as were the 50% of dwarfs...........

I told to my local store that i wanted the preorder of the new black dragon box,now i dont know if cancel it seeing this....

So idoneths that were allready a top army even with 2.0 tome get mount traits and huge buffs to warscrolls but citys get useless new alegiance,no new warscroll for the worst unit of aos(black dragons),delete one of our alegiances(anvilguard) and also with this we loose our mount traits.

HELLO, I'M MARIUS LEITDORF.  I WAS UNCEREMONIOUSLY KILLED OFF BY A NO-NAME ORC IN THE 6TH ED EMPIRE ARMY BOOK, AND DESPITE BEING 'DEAD' FOR THE FINAL 15 YEARS OF WFB'S EXISTANCE, REMAINED THE MOST POPULAR EMPIRE SPECIAL CHARACTER BY A COUNTRY MILE, STILL BEING USED IN GAMES, AND EVENTUALLY GETTING A WHOLE NEW MODEL. SEE ALSO MY MATE BROTHER CAPTAIN TYCHO, WHO HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIM (ALBEIT AT THE  HANDS OF AN ORK WITH A 'K') IN 1998 AND IS STILL AVALIABLE TO USE IN THE LATEST BLOOD ANGELS CODEX. I'D THROW OUT MORE EXAMPLES OF THIS, AND EVEN EXPLAIN WHAT A 'HISTORICAL' ARMY IS, BUT I NEED TO GO ARGUE STRATEGY WITH MY HORSE SO GOODNIGHT
