Holy crapola, that's some great news for Troggoths!  I wonder what Ogors will get, if anything?

I doubt we'll see anything for Ogres, since their book was overall more functional than Gitz was. Furthermore, Troggoths and Squigs are new and extremely popular sculpts that needed a boost to see more play, so from what I can tell their Tome Celestials were as much for marketing as anything else, since people wanted to use them but were lackluster on the table. It was an easy fix and certainly got people buying more of them. If anything we'd see spiders next, but somehow I doubt it, as then the Gitz range of required rules material would be getting bloated.

  2. I'm really only seeing this allegiance being used for Ruinbringer Warbands to fit that 2nd Hero into the battalion, since the playstyle doesn't benefit much from subfactions, so can make use of Idolators without much loss. Which is ironic given this was supposed to be the cultists subfaction.

Still worse than despoilers khorne with the half charges of daemon + d3 units moving 5’, and the cost of the batallion, the gorillas and the forced undivided is too much for what Gresh do. And, the final stab, is that you have to decide between the trait Of Gresh (+1 hit) or the double pray of warshrines.
Is too easy to fix this mess with a low effort, just give cultists marks (disable marks on someone if results on being too op, they had enought time to test it), give artifacts, let gorillas in the battallion be all marks and change Gresh Trait to a CA.

My proposed list doesn't even have Gresh in it. It's just a way of getting very low drops in a cavalry list.

When they say Leader keyword it means Hero keyword ?

Leader is a battlefield role, which interacts with the limit on how many they can have in an army, and for the purposes of capturing objectives in some battleplans. It's actually a big deal, as now the warshrine can score extra points in some games.

  5. The net only needs to hit, right? Sharks will be able to control fights incredibly well, especially in a unit of 3 where they'll have 3 shots. They won't need to worry much about getting hit back if they can pin targets so easily, which they can.

  6. Idolators will work well for anyone running a Ruinbringer Warband focused army, as it lets you fit a 2nd Hero into the battalion by turning one of the chariots into a Chariot Lord. You can get a feasible 3 drop going 1 Warshrine, Be'lakor and a big Ruinbringer Warband. My regular opponent often plays Ruinbringer to decent success, and my own army since the update (Glogg's Megamob) is now a 4 drop, meaning he can outdrop me again.

  7. Slaves to Darkness and Stormcast are meaningless without the regular human. Regular humans are what define them. Having a world where all the humans are either roided chaos warriors or roided angels is not healthy for the story. Freeguild aren't going anywhere.

    battle for the ass.

I'm glad you performed well. StoD have been slowly gaining traction in the competitive scene, although this is likely due to less opportunities to play right now rather than anything else. It's a secret competitor which I think gets overlooked too often.

    Allegiance: Sons of Behemat

    Leaders
    Gatebreaker Mega-Gargant (490)
    - General
    - Command Trait: Extremely Bitter - Bossy Pants and Clever Clogs
    - Artefact: Enchanted Portcullis
    Gatebreaker Mega-Gargant (490)
    Kraken-eater Mega-Gargant (490)

Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs
    Extra Command Point (50)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1

This is what i'll be running. Cant resist the urge to field 3 megas for their first outing, even if it may not be the right choice ^^'

Have you considered not buying the CP to get a Triumph?

Nobody seems to be talking about the gargant toes, it is all over the place, the Whale Biter has 3 toes, while the others got 4? bizarre!

Also not many talking about the Stomper tribes throw rocks and getting stuck in rule, as it says nothing about melee attacks only. Hitting 20+ size units with d3+2 dmg rocks is pretty alright.

The Dankhold has odd numbered toes as well, it's intentional.

I honestly had no idea hed make the Dankhold look so tiny!!

Mate I love your collection and cannot wait to see the Megas added. Your paintwork on the flesh is so smooth!! How did you achieve it?

The skin for the Dankboss and Rockgut is just a basecoat with a lot of time spent drybrushing and stippling, avoiding the recesses. I was lighting it with my work lamp so it was all pretty bright. The Hag was done with contrast, and thanks to her wrinkles and rolls, it was a single coat and done.  I then varnished them with whatever GW's current product is; the closer you varnish the more satin it is, so with the Hag I achieved a wetter look, while the others I held it farther away. I'm going to be using contrast for my Mega Gargant.

  12. So I was thinking about Mega Gargants after having built my Warstomper, and remembered in the Gitz tome it mentions that Dankholds can grow to fit the space they're sleeping in, and that the tallest are nigh as tall as Gargants, and that makes me wonder if that also refers to Mega-Gargants, given both excerpts. So, I threw together some rules for what I'd expect the biggest, dumbest Dankhold to be. I might even draw it as a design. I picture it as a bloated, slobbering toad of a Troggoth who's so fat its legs barely work and it drags itself with its arms.

I'd expect it to be in the 550-600 point range.

  13. It says in the Gitz tome that Dankholds can grow to fill the cavern they're sleeping in, and that the tallest are nigh as tall as Gargants. Makes me wonder if that was referring to the biggest Gargants, i.e Mega Gargants, because a colossal Dankhold would be amazing.

  14. Grunnock as a merc seems pretty decent in some armies. I can see him having worth in StoD and Beasts of Chaos as an independent Hero who can do their own thing. At least, in my experience, StoD don't have a Hero outside of Archaon that can operate without an entourage following them everywhere they go, so having a big melee Hero like him is quite valuable. When you consider you can get Grunnock and 40 Marauders for the price of Archaon he actually looks pretty good. Also, StoD struggle with consistent rend -2. His earthquake is also absolutely huge, which can be used to protect your Marauders. The -1 CP isn't even that big a deal when you consider most StoD buffs aren't command abilities.

I won my first game versus Ossiarch. I changed my mind, if you play trying to score and avoid been damage you are goning to win.

The battleplan was Focal Points, a battleplane very favourable to us.

I played Breaker Tribe with the +1 to hit Hero and Wizard. Idiots with flags is a trap, your opponent is going to remove the commands first so your skill is useless. It is better to chunk small heroes.

The Ossiarch player was removing their command models?
