  1. The more I look at it, the more I'm thinking it's plausible despite the two characters thing. It would definitely minimize realistic savings (given how overpriced the scar vet is), and it would demotivate players from picking up multiples of the same box. I'm hoping howver the box is closer to something other posters here have mentioned, i.e. with a salamander instead of the scarvet. In that case, I'd get two in a heartbeat.
  2. GW apparently removed the "good" and "evil" labels from their list LOL 😂😂😂 At least that means they're keeping a pulse on online discourse
  3. Also, are those dwarves on 20mm or 25mm bases? I printed mine at 90% of the original scale because I thought they were too big, and now I'm thinking my regiments might look a bit too loose on 25mms. The modified size translates how dwarfs should feel compared to other factions perfectly imho though
  4. Since we're dwarfposting - I've also just had an army of Highlands Minis dwarfs printed to play some 6th/7th games with friends who kept their old armies in preparations of ToW. I was lacking inspo to get working on those bad boys but this post has inspired me so much. Stellar work sir!
  5. Yes, as in 8th edition White Lions that have since been discontinued. I can't wait to get my hands on them.
  6. From your fingertips to GW's eyeballs. I'm really hoping that's going to be the case as the new beastmen are filthy good (minus futuristic bits, howver).
  7. Thinking about something now, would be swell if I could get a @Whitefang react on this - maybe the four harbingers revealed today are also harbinging some new units for those four factions? Edit: I see y'all are already talking about it, so this might even have legs ha! 🤔🤔🤔
  8. Tbf the vast majority of other armies have almost everything covered between whfb models still sold as AoS and discontinued plastic kits, and TK, Brets and to a much lesser extent O&G are the only three armies that need significant updates (and even then "significant" means 2-3 units and 1-2 characters). Even then, the only other kits that really need an update of *all* the other armies imho are empire knights, high elf spearmen and archers. So yeah, the opportunity to buy things like like white lions, glade guard & riders, and dwarf artillery & warriors, thunderers/quarellers again, not to mention the new (& old plastic) TK stuff has me (and a lot of other prospective players) plenty excited.
  9. I need more Frazetta-inspired models in my life and the new Nurgle herald is out. Of. This. World. Now holding fingers crossed for a nurgle cavalry on actual horses!
  10. I'm pretty sure they're meant as a testing ground for a future GG update, and I've come to think this is one of Underworlds' side-purposes in GW's eyes. Still waiting for those "default" Darkoath units though... (but according to Whitefang, Kurnothi might be getting something so yay)
  11. I'm not sure about tutorials, but Mountain miniatures wargames (or whatever MWG Steve's personal channel is called) does batreps from various edition fairly often, so I'd recommend watching a few of those. The core game concepts of whfb are fairly simple (I read someone here saying they're surprisingly simpler than modern 40k/AoS), but the rules are badly written, often mixing fluff with unclearly worded rules etc, so watching actual games would give you a better grasp of the rules IMHO. Also, watch games from any edition bar 8th (ie either 6th or 7th), they're all fairly similar and would work well as an entry level.
  12. Is there a space on this forum dedicated to discussing the tactical nitty gritty of the new book in detail? I don't want to clog up the N&R thread. Edit: Didn't mean to tag anyone, but it randomly happened and I can't delete the quote, I apologize.
  13. I feel that GW has cornered itself with too specific a visual concept with the core idea of fireslayers which makes every subsequent iteration extremely hard to feel significantly different while retaining a certain unifying element - like, say, chameleon skinks do to regular skinks, Cursed City little furry vampire dudes do to regular vampires, etc etc. This is one of the reasons why I'm a strong proponent of "benchmark" toned-down basic mooks - it makes other things in a faction feel more special while enhancing the overarching visual identity. As I'm typing this, I also can't help but wonder how hasn't AoS still explored one glaringly obvious (but imho insanely cool) "original and brave" concept - big dwarfs, a la Heroes of Might and Magic 5 video game. In fact, I feel that something like flamelords (below) could be a nice way of spicing up fireslayers and something I'd pay serious money for.
  14. Yep, you're right, I was thinking about the coven throne lel. I stand corrected & apologize
  15. IIRC, the current black coach is literally from 8th edition WHFB. Otherwise, agree with everything you (and others) wrote.
  16. Wow, imagine being so insecure that you feel the need to respond to *memes* in such a manner.
  17. Another week with no lizard preorders 😢
  18. Any chance of lizard box going on preorder next Monday?
  19. Thanks. That's why I said "allegedly" because I didn't watch it either, but a friend gave me the info after watching a few days ago.
  20. That bloke is a muppet and I'm pretty sure he gets his rumors here (I think he passed on some of the convo as "rumors"). Still appreciate he's making ToW content, even though it's laughable and vapid most of the time. FWIW, Valrak allegedly confirmed Seraphon were dual use for ToW. FWIW 2, Inner Circle confirmed brets vs TK, allegedly said they're getting a healthy number of new releases, new ToW stuff to come out on a regular basis of 3-6 months for next 2 years. He also said that GW is pretty confident that it's going to be a success, but the one thing that could "harm" the game to an extent is their production capacity (they're allegedly already struggling to produce enough of the stuff they already have in offer - sounds like a good problem to have though). IIRC (but it's possible that I don't), he was sceptical of 2023 release, perhaps late in the year.
