  1. Yep, I know that article. It's pretty clear, though the third situation says "several friendly units that can do something" and units are indeed under my control.

Actually, it would be more logical to think like @EMMachine suggest.
Chalice sure is a player ability, but checking objective points seems a 'super partes' ability, a game mechanic, that occurs at the end of the player's stuff...

  2. As I implicitly said above, last weekend I fought Khorne in a vanguard match and I won without too much difficulty.
Sure a bit of luck,  slaining immediately his bloodthirster with my ghoul.

I found crucial starting first and  gaining objective with our excellent movement (even better with Blisterskin), controlling the board in the mid game with numbers.

Games Workshop Studio writers are almost never subtle. If it wasn't vampire who freed him, we'd not have had that very explicit reference to Van Brecht's family history.

Of course this bond between him and soulblight is not a random background, sure we'll see some vampire jump out, I agree.

But I think it's also possibile that this specific case – the winged saviour – could be linked to someone else, like Malerion or Be'lakor... and that the vampire-reference is put in the same book on purpose, to disorient.

  4. I would say the misterious saviour is Malerion (or a subordinate of him). It would fit better in the fluff.
But then I remember that Van Brecht family is connected with Soulblight, and I ask myself why telling such a specific and unusual thing? It must have consequences, I expect a winged vampire jumping out at any moment.

It could be one or the other.

I think GW is playing on ambiguity on purpose. And that's the way you build an engaging narrative!

I feel like that could be a real possibility! It's certainly one of the best fits for that rumour engine that I have seen. If I remember correctly, at the time people were speculating that it could be a vampire or elf thing, but the elf releases have come and gone with no rapier in sight, and the sword does not look super deathy to me.

I too think that rumour doesn't look deathy at all, not even Soulblight.
It could be elfish, but if the Newborn was Sigvald it would fit well.

Interesting thing to note here: Sigvald was considered the son of Slaanesh in the world that was. Regardless of what the mirror from else in the story might hold, there's a nonzero chance that we could be seeing either Sigvald reborn as a proper demigod, or a new, similar entity.

I'm really excited to see where this goes.

    Interesting indeed.

And this give me an idea, not so illogical... maybe someone has already thought about it.
    What if:

    Probably not, but still.

  7. I voted Vampirates, we've seen the potential of this concept in Total War, and I like their aesthetics.

But I would be happy as well with a Nosferatu style or a completely new concept, as long as it brings fresh air to the game.
The fact is... I really love the old baroque armoured Blood Dragons, but I think they belong to the Old World.

  8. Yes, I agree with @Rodiger.

Also it's worth to examine our conscience and recalling that is not mandatory to buy everything we like.
Sure, prices are pretty crazy right now, but I think to speak on behalf of some of you, when I admit that I tend to accumulate a lot of kits that I haven't time to work on.

Sure "I'll need this piece to finish my army" or "That's a bargain! I must take it now!"... but in the end I always have a stockpike under my workbench that someday I'll paint... So maybe I have to slow down and buy only what I can paint today and not tomorrow. When I'll finish a unit, I'll buy a new one, and so on.

In this manner spending will be spread over time and maybe I might even buy that expensive giant...
