Hi. Is Nighthaunt playable with the new rules or I can keep my ghosts on the shelf until new battletome arrives?
I mean, we all are spitballing lists here and I am not impressed with any of them. Even in my own list I supplement a good chuck of points with a MONSTER hero ally to compensate deficiencies in NH's roster. I don't own Mannfred yet and am very hesitant to invest in this army. Tier lists like those aren't very encouraging either:

I found this screenshot on Reddit. Did we talk about the Chaos-flavuored battletome for october already?

No, but some of the warscrolls are strong enough to stand on there own
Right, allies are just acceptable, because NH battle traits are subpar and they don't have a hero MONSTER. That's why I guess Mannfred could be a great option to fill a gap in the roster and you don't have to babysit him while he's doing his thing. Similiar for Lauka Vai for fewer points. Radukar The Beast seems surprisingly fast with Bounding Charge, has good weapons and is resiliant. He can summon Dire Wolves and can buff them when they charge. So he comes with a 135 points discount. I mean even Fell Bats could have a purpose with 14" move for 75 points.
They are at least mentionable. -

Updated for 3.0
Please give a gander and correct me where I've messed up or misled.
Also, if you've got some lists that are rolling opponents, I want to see them. I'll feature them in the guide and give you credit.
You need to correct the mininum size for Bladegheists in your "Cheap Hero Hunting" trick to 10.
Furthermore you should at least mention allies. Their restrictions are negligible and they can be part of core battalions.- 1

Or what im missing?
It's about typography. Several factors contribute to the readability of a document and font size is a significant one.

Are the full codices of 8th Edition WH40K available in that app or just the rules bits?
I guess it's just the rules. I have WH40K app installed. The (locked) tabs appear to only show datasheets, stratagems, weapons etc. It's extensive though.

Do you think the Broken Realms rules and 2.0 battletomes will be free in the new AoS app with a subscription? Considering Psychic Awakening and 8th Edition codexes are availbable in the WH40K app for subscribers.

I might try something like this. Taking Mannfred is too tempting.
Allegiance: Nighthaunt
- Procession: Reikenor's Condemned
- Grand Strategy: Hold the Line
- Triumphs: Bloodthirsty
Warlord- Mannfred von Carstein, Mortarch of Night (380) - Allies
- Reikenor the Grimhailer (165) - Lore of the Underworlds: Soul Cage
- Guardian of Souls with Nightmare Lantern (135) - General - Command Trait: Ruler of the Spirit Hosts - Infernal Lantern (Artefact): Beacon of Nagashizzar
- 20 x Grimghast Reapers (310)
- 2 x Chainghasts (75)
Vanguard
- Spirit Torment (115) - Artefact: Corpse Candle
- 20 x Bladegheist Revenants (380)
- 20 x Chainrasp Horde (190)
- 20 x Chainrasp Horde (190)
Total: 1940 / 2000
Reinforced Units: 4 / 4
Allies: 380 / 400
Wounds: 113- 2

Is there some way of giving GW feedback? Some mailbox etc. which they actually read? Maybe if enough people complained, they'd realize they screwed this book up...
Write a very long letter like this. 18 pages, front and back.

I was also interested by the list that can be found at Goonhammer here:
Being a Legion of Grief exile I intuitively looked for bloodsucking allies to compensate for NH's weaknesses. Mannfred is a great choice with being a fast, flying and self-sustaining MONSTER. Speaking of instinct, I have the urge to fill my list with more meat like 20x Bladegheist Revenants and 20x Grimghast Reapers, but that's a thing of the past I guess.

In all honesty you guys can ignore me. It's probably for the best, anyway.
I'd suggest to make tabula rasa and forget about this. You are obviously frustrated. Focus on other aspects of the hobby for a while until the dust of 3.0 settles. There are no controversial FAQs for painting minis or listening to audio books.

No, what I was trying to do was point out that the ability Empowering Excruciation is not granting a ward of any kind at all...
Was this whole reply for me? Because I am aware of all of it and came to a different conclusion.
But are you under the impression, that somebody claimed Deathless Spirits does not grant protection from mortal wounds with Empowering Excruciation anymore or KC creates a new ward? Why did you mention this? -

Obviously people's interpretations reflect their individual bias
If you think you can convince people with Ad Hominem fallacies then you shouldn't take part in this debate.
I tend to interpret the clarification in the FAQ as an exclusion to mortal wounds. I think what @EnixLHQ tried to do was to apply a logical parent-child relationship: Deathless Spirits inherits its rules by being a child of the Ward ability type, which acts as parent. KC's Empowering Excruciation is its grandchild in this case. Therefore mentioning mortal wounds would be redundant, because there's a logical precedence in the relationship.
That was correct before, but I think that's obsolete now. The FAQ does not refer to Deathless Spirits, which "specifically says it negates mortal wounds" but to cases like Empowering Excruciation, which – although being an influence to Deathless Spirits – is an ability by itself and literally does not include mortal wounds. -

Amazing!! That teaser, does it mean perhaps a full Mawtribes army for TWW3?
Probably, they have to fill the gap between Kislev and Cathay with something.

That sounds pretty fun, actually. Especially if you proxy them as Tau units. "This guy just showed up some day convinced that he's a Crisis Suit. And I definitely won't be the one to tell him he's not."

I want to paint Tau-inspired Ironjawz with white armor, blue skin and orange details and I'm slightly appalled at myself.

I don't know if they are huge factors but the chunky hardcover rule book, the lack of terrain and a gaming board might affect the appeal of the box in a negative way. Warhammer veterans can already assume that Dominion will be followed by a big starter box, which might include new terrain, said gaming board(s) and a handy softcover manual with all necessary rules. It's undisputable that the value of the models is lower, but so is the monetary investment and the additional content of the box can actually be used for existing armies.
