I wouldn’t want these kinds of passive aggressive comments on my marketing posts either. From a company perspective, it must be hard to deal with this fanbase sometimes.

I worked in Social Media marketing, this is harmless. A competent team of community managers can moderate this without deleting critical comments.

  2.  So imagine a new Nighthaunt Battletome comes with AoS 3.0 this year. What would be your (reasonable) wishlist?

Across-the-board Ethereal, Flying and high Bravery should stay as signature traits of course. Additionally NH units should exploit and benefit from low enemy Bravery across all phases.

Hero Phase: Nighthaunt Wizards need access to spells like

    Quote

Shroud of Terror has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast pick a enemy unit within 12” of the caster that is visible to them. Subtract D3 from the Bravery characteristics of that until your next hero phase.

    or

    Quote

Overwhelming Dread: At a casting value of 5, a unit within 18" loses 1 from hit rolls and 1 Bravery until your next hero phase.

It could be interesting if a wizard would get a benefit for unbinding if the enemy caster has a certain bravery.

Shooting Phase: Myrmourn Banshees should lose their roll as spell eaters and behave similar to Crypt Flayers and Tomb Banshees with something like

    Quote

Death Scream: Do not use the attack sequence for an attack made with a Death Scream. Instead roll 2D6. Subtract 2 if the target unit is more than 3" from the attacking model. If the result is higher than the target unit’s Bravery characteristic, the target unit suffers a number of mortal wounds equal to the difference between its Bravery characteristic and the result.

Movement and Charge phase: Overall low enemy bravery should result in additional movement and charge for e.g. cavalry units. This way Wave of Terror could be more reliable if it depends on low enemy bravery instead of a 10+ roll.

Attack phase: Same as above. Low bravery should benefit attacks, damage and rent.

Deployment: LoN's Gravesites should replace From the Underworld and They Come and Spectral Summons for deployment, summoning and regeneration.

    Unit reworks:

    –
Glaivewraith Stalkers should become relevant again for example as Monster hunters with -2 Rend (like Savage Big Stabbas)
    – Mortis Engine receives the NIGHTHAUNT keyword and the Ethereal trait.
    – Guardian of Souls with Mortality Glass is a thing again.
    – Demote Dreadblade Harrows to a unit. Nighthaunt have enough heros already and the dual box is weird. Give them an ability to transport themselves and an additonal unit to each other. You'll have an actual reason to run two Dreadblade Harrows this way.
    – Maybe no more stupid Black Coach levels?

I'm curious about what the actual difference in game data is. Sure there are events, but do we even know what GW pulls its data from? Like if GW pulls data exclusively from events of 100 players or more it's irrelevant that there are several 50 player events globally.

That's an additional problem about the FAQ people already mentioned: The lack of transparency. On top of the lack of point changes, the delay and the disputable worthless meta-watch articles. Those must be based on missing data somehow.

Now it just hurts my view on the company greatly, that they think this is in any way acceptable community management.

Didn't have high hopes, but I'm still disappointed.. (sorry for being a negative Nancy, but in my opinion GW, and the community team, deserves every negative word coming their way after today)

Don't be sorry for being negative. It's valid criticism and I feel the same. I am glad that some of you have some optimism left for the release of 3.0 though, but be prepared for a turbulent year for AOS.

Obviously people keeping their engagement with a game by whatever means possible atm. is not generating profits to GW.......

.... that's an way good example of that failed and backward old GW thinking.....

(hint: Total War: Warhammer as an example.....)

I don't get. An example for what?

The books take around six months to make it from the printers in China, across the ocean and to the UK. We also know the turnaround time from design to stores is about four years. The Lumineth Battletome would've been at the printers long before Covid was a major issue.

I think it's very naïve to believe GW don't want to squeeze as much money as they can out of their rabid fanbase.

You are either trolling with even more fallacies or you don't know better. I don't dispute the production process, which you are using as red herring by the way, I am talking about the release shedule and about you making scandalising bogus arguments about a conspiracy. Being rational and use some formal logic in your rhetoric might help our fanbase to be less "rabid", wouldn't you agree?

I think it was clearly a very cynical plan on GW's part. [...]

And now this thread drifts into cui bono fallacies. It's obvious that the release shedule is negatively affected be the plague, but it doesn't mean that GW conspires against their customers.

I hope the game itself will be very much like Blackstone fortress but better :D

I hope it won't be like Blackstone Fortress at all! I don't want little tiles. Give me a Necromunda: Dark Uprising-style box with an ridiculous amount of terrain.

    Hope you are right.

Please don't feel insulted, but this is an unexpected lack of media literacy. May I suggest to check the source and the context of suspicious AOS news the next time you share it with us? It could prevent some confusion.

I have to say that I didn't like the Lumineth at the beginning. I liked the look though, but the model range was just a tiny bit too limited and so I was not please.

But now: with these it feels just right and the mounted lord looks really awesome.

For me: lumineth: from zero to hero!!!

Nah, can't wait for Gotrek making fun of them in Brian Blessed's booming voice.
