Oh so that's unfortunate.  Didn't know that.  I don't play sigmar. I like the new slann and saurus.  But I would love if somehow they can be used in old world. I got the new kroak . I sold most of my 6k in liz back when rumors were liz civilization was gonna be wiped and no new models for a long time and some said maybe ever.so like 2013/14 I guess?

I use them for dnd lizardmen as well so dinos etc are cool hence I want more large dinos.

I wonder when we find out how old world will be.  And the new seraphon/liz reveals . I hope soon :)

The saurus cav are such bad models, even for when they came out with the lustria book, I hope new ones are cool .  They are like an insult to models ...

    Regards

I purchased the Blood Bowl team for my lizardmen. Skinks are kobolds, then it has 6 saurus.

I ended up needing more kobolds, so it wasn't the best choice for me, but 6 lizardmen is enough for me, and might be for you.

That's what I was talking about when I said "simplification":

    1. You see a zombie that ignores the high armor of the Anihilators when they "bite". Without mw, 40 zombies (40 atacs at 5+/5+) will do 1 wound to Annihilators, so they probably will not kill any Annihilator.
    2. You know that scene when the main group survive a big mob, but sadly one of them has been biten and heshe will die in less than 10 minuts? even if he/she is so badass that kills zombies with their own hands? That's what I see. If we look at annihilators, one zombie can kill a simple dude if they are lucky, but can't kill an annihilator (max dmg they can do is 1 wound). But a big blob of zombies is a threat even to Annihilators (movie/show reference). That's why a 40 man blob would kill 7 or 8 basic dudes (and return them as zombies) and/or kills 2 Annihilators (and return only 2 zombies).

Maybe there could be some time of "infection" when being wounded by the zombies, but that's close to what Nurgle has and maybe we are overcomplicating the main mechanic (bite, kill, return them as zombies). Maybe the numbers are a bit better than they should, maybe even they should do mw on To Wound rolls, I don't know, but to me, they are not that bad.

I agree, but we are late to the party. There isn't a Battletome without something that breaks the main core rules, and believe me that a 6" pile in is the less annoying mechanic to deal with!

That would also be the case with Chaos marauders, Freeguild guard, Saurus or similar, but it's not in the game.

I believe recycling polystyrene is expensive, as it involves heating it up to around 400C in a specific environment (no oxygen or it'll burn). I was under the impression GW didn't recycle old sprues (and presumably unsold minis) for this reason.

I wish they did though, throwing away empty sprues never feels good to me.

Since GW polystyrene is apparently worth its price in gold, a few burners shouldn't make that much of a dent.

I am not fully aware of this history, but current rules are not directly tied with the GHB, so I would assume they should last until the end of the 3 ed. Anyway, I think I will get the Dwarf box - they should always be usable in the KO army, this way or the other.

Just after the GHB, models of the factions that would become Cities started getting out of stock, dwarf arty included. They were fully out of stock worldwide before GW announced them going out of stock. After Cities came out, the hero required in the mercenaries had its warscroll rewritten and no longer worked with that artillery (the options required for the General in the pistoleers mercenary were removed from the warscroll as well, so that option was totally gone). Next GHB, mercenaries were gone alltogether.

Why would you assume this? Once they add the option to the app they can keep it indefinitely and the models themselves are mostly new and I don't see them going anywhere.

Like the previous mercenaries? The Blackpowder one only lasted some two months.

This literally means that you can't imagine this idea because it can't be implemented without including KO and FS at some degree.
We can have forever splited duardins or united variant. It can't be both. The only option is to include Khazalid allegiance ability in campaign book.

That is fine. Alternatively classic dwarves from Disposessed that have a Thryng/Tempest's Eye like quality for KO and Fyreslayers.

As long as Kharadron and Fyreslayers don't end up in the blender.

Throwing them in the same book removes any chance of new non hero/Underworld models (until GW proves otherwise).

Not that GW seems hasty in filling out rosters of underdeveloped factions at the moment, but at least there's a chance.

I'm very curious to see what happens next edition for both AoS and 40k. At this point most armies are quite well served when it comes to heroes. Even a pretty small faction like KO now has 7 hero options. Are we really going to get another round of this? I'd love to see GW move to a New book plus unit next edition.

Adding heroes is the highest margin thing they can do, take a formerly rejected sculpt, make mold and produce.

It gives them a few new pictures, and an incentive to get the new tome that has the new model.

Now they are often nice models, but infantry heroes have no options, and €25 for a single model is ludicrous.

Endless Spells, Faction Terrain (and some other terrain), and Warhammer Underworlds sets were produced in China and not their usual UK factory. I remember the AoS 2nd edition release for Sylvaneth was really delayed because right before it happened a trade war broke out between the US and China, making shipping prohibitively expensive. The Sylvaneth endless spells, battletomes, and new Wyldwood terrain models were delayed a few months because they were stuck in a port iirc. Since then GW has been less enthusiastic about faction terrain and spells it seems.

I think they won't do outsourced production for them if they return in the future and their own production is up and running.

So, what do you want to see in our new book?

Do you think that we are going to lose our Fly High ability with that 3D6" charge? Buffed Frigates maybe? Return of the Clown-taxi maybe? Or are we going to conitnue be chained to our Star Destroyer, aka, Ironclad with Sun + ammunition?

Can't wait to read this book!

    Warscrolls for

    • A small one person skiff/biplane (with nice I-15 vibes)
    • Mechanized infantry
    • Valkyries, wing assisted female strike squads (yes, I know that would tread on the toes of balloon boys, but I want my steampunk winged dwarf ladies)

look at that, they made a model for "um actually.." warhammer weekly will have a field day 😂

It's the fanatic that buys all tomes, even though they have a two year shelf life and not worth the money. They even reference them being battletomes in the text.

The mortal wounds mechanic is horrible, but unfortunately it is very appreciated because it speeds up the game ... it should be deeply revised, together with other serious defects of the game such as too high movements and too common teleports.

Uniforming some similar rules across warscrolls would also help the game.

It speeds up the game by removing interaction outside of your turn. That isn't a good thing.

That's what gets me I think. Other manufacturers using the same materials (I think model planes etc. Are all styrene), on a smaller scale, manage to sell their products for way less than GW. I'm willing to believe the prices of designing stuff is more expensive for GW (you don't really need concept art for model planes for example) but the difference in price is just ludicrous.

I'm not at the point where I'm going to give up on GW yet. I'm lucky enough to have enough disposable income to be able to afford the price rises (though I'll have to cut back what I buy). But this has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I was seriously considering whether to give up. I have so little time to spend on the hobby anyway that in some ways giving up would be easier than trying to juggle my time, but I do like the creative outlet and I still appreciate Games Workshops worlds.

I do think getting concept art for historical models is easier, but it seems easier to design molds for a model you can control. Supports on engines, antennas, pitot tubes, piping, gun barrels etc  can be really thin and fragile, and some panels need to be flat, detailed, strong and thin enough so you can open them (to show guns or engine) and it doesn't look weird. There is a reason the engine of the Messerschmidt I recently made has 33 parts and still would benefit from some custom tubing.

I just hope they forget to update Spiderfang prices again. Last time they spiked prices, the Spider Rider and Arachnarok kits were unaffected.

That said, quite a few old sets did not get the price increase in 2019, and they got dumped a few months later.

I don't know. GW products are luxuries. Very addictive luxuries, but luxuries nonetheless. If people have to choose between paying rent and buying food, or buying GW products most will go with the essentials of life. Raising prices is likely to reduce overall sales, and if GW haven't forecast accurately, might even hurt their profits.

They have already mostly lost me and another friend I sometimes paint with.

I got into model planes. Currently working on a highly detailed 1:48 Eduard Tempest (about 25*20 cm) that I purchased for €17,24 (overtrees). It has the panel lines and rivets in all the right places and is in no way less than any GW kit. ICM kits are arguably a better purchase, because their internals are very complete (I like building engines).

I can't purchase infantry heroes (except some old world leftovers, though they are less than a euro behind now) for that price.

I'll buy specific GW sets every once in a while, like a box of skinks to be kobolds for my PF campaign, but not that often. Those are invariably infantry boxes (necromunda gangs included) and they need to be either less than €2 per model or incredibly versatile. Or Kharadron.

I already know that their books are not the quality I want for a higher price than I want with an unreasonably short shelf life.

I dont think many of us are interested in KO. I would also like to know more about it but seems like all the head are turned toward our LizardMen and not on the next BT yet ^^

While lizards look cool, I would buy any Kharadron that isn't an infantry hero for ≥€20* or battletome.

*Admiral with model boat excluded. I need that.

Super into the idea of something new for kroxigors. Even though its in the name, something that looks too much like a real crocodile just feels too corny. Save that for Blood Bowl!

  17. I do have a pile of potential, but also think that's okay.

I do not make armies, but I paint what I need for Pathfinder sessions, for characters of friends, or because I have an idea for something.

This means the 40 or so victrix vikings I have left are no burden, they just don't have a purpose yet. This is true for most half built sets. I need a good variety of stuff to have the flexibility I want, because I don't know whether this Nighthaunt needs to be a shadow or a ghost, and that Victrix Grenadier might be a pawn on a chess board, or a ww2 pilot.

That said, I also don't buy large amounts of stuff often, and my pop is not physically large.

I really have to remember to pick up Karl Franz/the Freeguild General on Griffon  sometime soon. I suspect that guy will be gone in a few months, and he's actually pretty cheap for a big character model.

It is also just a really good model.

As for price, you get a Battlemage, a General and a General on Griffin. Sure, the pedestrians need some work, but the parts are certainly there.

Wonder how long they will keep the units staying or being removed a secret? Enjoy the fact that they are using old artwork with units that are rumored being cut lol.

If the 2019 culling is anything to go by, until after half of them are no longer available worldwide.
