  1. Being a huge fan of Chaos Dwarfs, I have obsessively collected every single piece of lore from White Dwarf, Black Library books, and Battletomes of Chaos Dwarfs in Age of Sigmar. Nothing seems to suggest that's the case as of now. In fact, most of the lore just seems to be exactly the same as from Fantasy even down to Hashut still being around somehow even after getting krumped by Gork and Mork. Everything suggests they're still patriarchal, especially being called "Furnace Kings" in some cases and Hashut is even still called "Father of Darkness". That doesn't mean if Chaos Dwarfs got a plastic release and battletome they couldn't completely retcon it, but I'd kind of feel a huge retcon takes away what makes them interesting. There is apparently matriarchal Fyreslayer holds though. The June 2019 White Dwarf mentions one. Same one actually mentions a rogue Fyreslayer that became one of Hashut's first priests and suggests there's some Chaos Dwarfs in the Salamander's Spine. Speaking of matriarchal and Forgeworld factions, however, now that Forgeworld seems to have stopped the sale of Fimir, and we're seemingly never going to get the Meargh and Fimm models shown off a few years ago, it would be a good time for GW to bring them back in plastic with a whole battletome. They're still a fairly unique race with an interesting playstyle that I think have been dealt a short hand each time they were given a chance. We have Fomoroids now, and if expanded those could maybe scratch the same itch if they wanted to just drop Fimir completely.
  2. They're flesh and blood lizards now that live in the realms and are using those shrines to spread their influence and convert the lands into Lustria-like jungles. Looks like they've updated the rules to reflect the new lore. His Bravery is also 8 now. They've removed the -1 Rend ignoring for improving the save to 3+ too, and his Command Ability gives +1 to hit for Saurus units.
  3. Aha, I thought you meant in general there was no references. No, you're absolutely right when it comes to rules. Though, the old Citadel Journal and Chapter Approved had rules for FW stuff, and there were White Dwarf armies like the Vampire Coast which you had to convert entirely yourself, but I get your point. However, that may soon change with the announcement at the last LVO that the main studio is handling the new books for FW units and armies that replace the FW indices. That is for 40K though, not AoS.
  4. The books having no references is not correct when it comes to the Chaos Dwarves. In fact, using a recent example, Katakros' background in the Bonereapears battletome involves two campaigns against the "infernal duardin" of Chaos as some of his achievements he's known for. I have the physical copy of the battletome, so this is a direct transcript from the tome: "The next to feel Katakros' wrath was the Molten Horde of Hagran Four-Eye, an alliance of Chaos-worshipping tribes and infernal duardin that had taken nearby Praetories." "In Anadiria, the Chaos-worshipping duardin of the Strangler's Peaks met their match against the Mortisan adepts of the Null Myriad. ... Their legion's innate resistance to magic meaning the conjured lava of the duardin washed off them as if it were no more than seawater. The duardin looked to their supporting artillery emplacements in the Stranger's Peaks, but those were already being attacked from above by freshly-created Necropolis Stalkers..." The newest STD battletome calls the Legion of Azgorh by name with one of the rewards for the Path to Glory campaign. Numerous other battletomes have references here and there to Azgorh by name or the molten hordes of the "infernal duardin". Always small blurbs, but "never" is inaccurate. Though, it is a little odd using the term "infernal duardin" in some instances, when in obvious reference to LoA going by descriptions. It kind of sounds like a placeholder name.
  5. I believe if you doubted, now all that Seraphon squatting talk should be permanently put to rest. 😉
  6. Well, for me personally, I was a Lizardman player from 6th-8th of Warhammer Fantasy (and if they come in Warhammer: The Old World I'll play them then too), and so any references to their old lore I love. Also, personally, I prefer them being actual creatures to beings or memories of starlight from the old battletome. If you've kept up with the new lore, especially in the Tome of Champions as Whitefang mentioned, they've kind of retconned some stuff. They have spawning pools again from where they come from. They're creatures of flesh and blood again, however, the Slann can still summon them through starlight. Some of them stay or live in the realms. Also, apparently, Seraphon that have been isolated too long become feral and regress to a savage state. Also, lots of references to the Old Ones. The Seraphon quest in the Tome of Champions has you looking for a Cosmic Pylon that seems to somehow have been technology of the Old Ones. Overall, I'm pretty excited for their new tome.
  7. That's good to ask for confirmation, but doesn't really say anything we didn't already know unless you want to look deeper into the "they will get their day in the sun" part. Also, as a side note, we have not seen the Astrolithic Skyshrine that was leaked with the other terrain and Warcry stuff a month or so ago, have we? Considering the Astrolith is related to Seraphon, it's possible that'll be a scenery piece for them.
  8. That's ancient lore. They do have spawning pools again and are more ground-based. Their lore has already been re-worked outside their own battletome. When their battletome comes out (not long now), they'll be quite different lore-wise from the old tome.
  9. In terms of armies, going from Whitefang's info, it seems we can at least expect the Hysh elves and the all giants faction. Then going off the many other hints, we are still missing the Grotbag Scuttlers (who are already named and have lore) and the Shadow Elves who seem to be a given as that realm is still very mysterious. That's four new armies alone, not counting anything out of left field that didn't have a lot of established lore or only tiny hints like the Bonereapers. Not sure if we'd see all of those next year, but I think we'd at least see the elves and giants.
  10. It was 😄 Of course Whitefang could be wrong, but given what we know and the hints, I think its true. And probably indeed a Destruction faction.
  11. That would be me lol. I always wanted Sky Titans from Fantasy as a faction after their lore in the Ogre Kingdoms army book. This would be a good replacement. I for one, welcome our lumbering, drunk, villager crushing overlords.
  12. In this thread a few pages back. He said consider a complete revamp of the Aleguzzler Gargants as a faction similar to Imperial Knights. Then when the rumor pic of the hammer looking thing came out, someone said a Chaos Gargant and he said not necessarily Chaos. Then finally in response to this: He posted this:
  13. Well, not only that, but Whitefang seems to be hinting at a Gargant faction. He accurately predicted the Slaves to Darkness update months ago, even mentioning specifically the new Chaos Knights and Chaos Lord models. He kind of got some hate and denial for that when he first said it, but was proven right in the end. That doesn't exclude Hysh Aelves also being hinted at. Could be two separate factions hinted at in that same article. Two new factions for AoS would counter-balance the Fantasy news I guess was the mindset?
  14. Yes it is. It's right below the battletome and warscroll cards. December 14th. So are the Endless Spells.
  15. Grotbag Scuttlers. The goblins that have airships. There's been quite a bit of info on them in recent battletomes, they have even have a proper name already and are being consistently called by it. This rumor engine may be related or not.
  16. Yeah, they did. I never kept track of the Made to Orders, so I don't know if this would be the first time for a second run or not. If it is, that would be very curious. Either a count against it, or if it comes to pass, a precedent for maybe more second runs. We won't have to wait long to see if this list is real though. It can be disproved very quickly if the Bonereapers get their stuff earlier than the date the leak says or at different prices.
  17. I'm not certain one way or the other if the leak is true, however, it does align with Kikassto's information. He's been 100% accurate so far and this mirrors it perfectly. Of course, that could be intentional and this a fake using his accurate info to appear legitimate. However, there are a couple points here that can be counter-argued. 1. The Chaos Dwarf Team refers to a Made to Order. Look at the price, and then look at the other Blood Bowl team prices. That's the price for a Made to Order team, which they've done in the past. Same for the Bull Centaur. So that one is totally plausible. 2. The Warcry prices in my opinion is the most curious one. Really have no clue about that one. 3. The Necromunda starter set is the exact same price as the Adeptus Titanicus Grand Master set, so that price point already has a precedent. That Titan set included 2 Warlord Titans, 6 Knights, terrain and rules. It could be that much because of the Zone Mortalis terrain or maybe a big rulebook is included, so also entirely plausible. If we take a look at the current Necromunda starter set, its $125 for two gangs, tiles, some doors and barricades, and a cardboard arena. The new one appears to be all that, PLUS the Mortalis terrain. That would definitely up the price, by that much, who knows, but a higher price point is feasible. In my opinion, it could be fake, but it definitely has some real info in it. If its fake, he added in real info to make it appear legitimate. There is nothing yet that has outright disproved it so it could go either way.
  18. The tusks on the Chaos Dwarf are a really nice touch. Good reference to the old Big Hats. Tusks used to be one of the mutations from Hashut's corruption.
  19. Me too! I went from "Sounds alright" to instant day one all-in army as soon as I heard about the battalion.
  20. I see no one's posted the info from today's live stream yet so I'll just post the main points. - No models are being removed. All the models are making the jump. Including the Butcher with the Cauldron (the Slaughtermaster from Fantasy), he's now a new unit called a Slaughtermaster - basically a stronger wizard. - You can take a Gnoblar Horde via the Junkmob battalion. It's a battalion of only Gnoblars that makes them kinda good (not specified how). - Huskards are now "officially" priests like priests from other factions - Firebelly has his own lore, and Butchers have their own as well. - Leadbelchers are indeed going 2 as the minimum size, so the boxed set gives a whole unit. - All Ogres get a Gulping Bite attack. - They've got different tribe abilities like all the 2.0 battletomes. - All the warscrolls are getting an update - Troggoths and Aleguzzlers are still allies. Few pictures
  21. I heard a while back that the Fimir were supposed to be expanded into a Legion of Azgorh style army, with Allegiance Abilities and everything. In fact, back in 2016 there were some WIP of more units shown off at one of the Open Days. Shown below: A Dirach Balefiend (wizard) : A Meargh (the clan's mother/leader): And what appears to be a Shearl (the Fimir lesser ranks/slaves): However, those plans seem to have been stopped or something, because I don't believe we've seen head or tail of these since then, and its already been 3 years. Also seems like Forgeworld stepped back from AoS in general. Perhaps the Fimir army have been abandoned, and instead this Fomoroid might be the Fimir stand-in? I don't think we'll see an army of Fomoroids, but beyond having the same basis for inspiration, it also looks like a Chaos creature and maybe will act as a monster or mercenary, which is similar to the old Fimir lore that they were Chaos creatures, but abandoned by the Chaos Gods and so didn't really follow a specific God but instead acted as mercs or sudden allies for certain armies. In 8th during Storm of Magic, Fimir were one of the monsters that could be added to any army or summoned so that also fits. Either way, I'm a fan of it. I love the Fimir, and if we can't have the complete Fimir army from Forgeworld, I can accept this Fomoroid and hope its not a one-off and we get more.
  22. Awesome! The Tomb Kings analogues are obvious, but they managed to strike out from Egyptian to a mix of cultures and create something pretty unique in the process. I don't know about how other TK players will feel, but personally, I'm jumping on this day one and feel it'd fit right along-side, especially if some of the armor and scorpion-looking trim is painted gold. Also funny that it took the destruction of Tomb Kings to get a new Screaming Skull Catapult lol. I have a feeling we haven't seen all the units quite yet. Only reason is because my source was right, I think he was the first to call it in this thread a couple months ago . Except he also said we'll see some old TK models return. Not sure about the Tomb Guard because it looks like we already have analogues for those in the trailer, but I could see the Necrosphinx return. He could have been wrong about that specifically though. If we get some chariots and archer infantry, then the analogues are complete outside of constructs. Overall, fantastic!
  23. Not related to the thread, so I'll keep it brief, but actually, the Exodites rumor comes from Atia (whose track record is near 100% barring the plastic Thunderhawk that even caught her off guard when it turned out false), stating we may see them in a few years - a few years ago. She said this in the same month that she said we'd see Enforcers in Necromunda in a few years. Which have indeed just shown up recently. Of course, that was a may, instead of the usual matter-of-fact rumors she states. But if Atia thinks it might happen, that's usually good enough to go off of. And yeah, I agree, today's rumor engine looks a lot like the Scions of Flame. And not just because its a flame, but that does look Chaos-y. I don't want to double-post, but someone over I trust over on another site has been posting some interesting comments regarding the new Death army. Take with salt of course, but I thought it was interesting: I don't have Warhammer Quest, but I do wonder what this fluff is he referring to is, and if it matches anything we've seen so far about this new army.
  24. Not sure these two are the same guy. If he is, then damn, he really lost his sick gains.
  25. So, the spear is definitely not a match for Seraphon, looks more crude like Ogor stuff or probably a Warcry warband. The scaly one could actually be either Seraphon or Exodites, as there are two outstanding rumors for each one from two highly reliable rumor mongers. If you take the Aeldari arch into account, it could be Exodites as Atia said they were coming in a few years, a few years ago. She said we were going to see Enforcers around the same time she was talking about Exodites, and those barely came out recently so she sees things way in advance. However, the ever reliable Hastings said two weeks ago he had heard Seraphon would be one of the warbands for Warhammer Underworlds Season 3. So could be either one, then again, could intentionally appear to be a dinosaur and actually be something else entirely and just looks like a dinosaur to throw us off. He didn't list Bonesplitterz as part of those either, but did mention Ogors.
